Hello, does anyone know where I can find or how to adapt an insecure kernel for versions of firmware V4.1.2, more precisely for 'XXEMC2 and XXEMF6.
Thank you!

I'd like to copy the su binary, without installing cwm, replace recovery or another, and then replace the kernel with the previous Stock Official Firmware. So I have only the binary su more from the original.
Maybe you have some other better Suggested?
Thank you!
Yes, cf auto root or framaroot

Thanks for the reply, framaroot is perfect, it works fine with the firmware XXEMC2 but does not work with the last XXEMF6. cf root drive I did not understand exactly how it works, but the recovery that is flashed not the same in the stoch firmware!
Cf auto root gives you stock recovery

Hey, I have just rooted my Galaxy S2 via flashing superuser and cwm recovery via stock recovery. When I boot back into recovery, CWM isn't there. It simply won't stick. Is there any way to permanently install cwm. I am on ICS 4.0.3, with stock kernel with root access. I would appreciate your help as I want to try some custom roms. Cheers and Thanks!

Welcome to the cwm sgs2 world you will need to flash a kernel that has cwm included as its builtin. In other words the recovery shairs its partition with the boot.img that contains the kernel. Its not separate like HTC etc.

Can I do this through stock recovery by flashing the temporary CWM again and flashing the kernel? I would like to make a backup of my stock firmware and kernel. How would I do that? Or do I need Odin? Sorry I am new to this. All help is appreciated? Thanks!
Flash CF-Root/Siyah or other already rooted kernel through Odin. Then use Triangle Away app and enjoy

i don't need recovery and all. i need to use tasker dpad, etc
As slaphead said, flash cf-root or auto root depending on if you need CWM. With mobile Odin pro btw you would keep root every time when you flash a new rom.

Hello guyz!
Ive installed official jb rom and philz kernel....
How i can do this phone rooted???
Because i go to titaniumbackup and it shows me that i need busybox etc...
Thanks for all!
Do you have PhilZ kernel installed? If yes then you are rooted.
See if you have root by searching "root checker/validator" etc in Google play. Download the app and it'll tell you if you hav root or not.

Ye. If you installed custom kernel then you have root. Just look for superuser or supersu app. If you dont have it flash Siyah latest in CWM or Odin and you will have root

Check with "Root check" from play store just to be sure.
The other day a guy flashed philz and couldn't use any root function/app, crazy.
i check my phone and i says that it has not root.... :/ but i ve installed philz kernel and i working with it... whats the problem?
good question....download philz again.
If it doesn't work, flash siyah via odin.

Why you all want to flash custom kernels ?

Hello everyone,
I got my new S3 and would like to root it. I am looking for the easiest way to do so. Currently I would like to stay on stock firmware, but only rooted. There seems to be so many ways to root the I9300, so I am looking for suggestions from user who have rooted already.
My S3 info:
Model number: GT-I9300
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband version:I9300XXELLA
Build number: JZO54K.I9300XXEMA2
This method seems the easiest: [GT-I930x/T/N][SHV-E210*][SHW-M440S] CF-Auto-Root
Thank you,
CF-Autoroot or CF-Root 6.5 depending if you want to have a custom recovery or not. Follow the guides and make sure to flash the correct file for your device!
PhilZ Or TWRP .

Although I would recommend changing the recovery that comes with the latter anyway as we can't guarantee it's SDS safe, which means may as well do CF_Autoroot.
Then as JJE says, flash Philz or TWRP
I used cf auto root then put cwm recovery on. XXEMC2 also have stock rom at the min

Philz is like CWM but with way more features.
TWRP is a completely different experience but equally as good. Both of these are safe from SDS (See sticky in general for Sudden Death)
CWM is nto SDS safe
Just read thay thread..and I do suffer feom random bouts of the phone restarting itself.but this is an issue I had on stock rom before root
Have noticed since root my clock widget forgets to update so I have to delete it and replace again on hoke screen
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
We're talking about recovery now not rom. If you stick with cwm, when you flash a rom - we cannot tell you you're safe from brick due to sds. Only twrp or philz we can say you're safe. We've advised you. Follow or ignore our advice, its your call but you have been warned.

Thanks, i flashed the new cwm that should have SDS fix
So i guess it should be fine to use the cf root and then just update the recovery, right? i mean there's not a big chance of sds on first recovery use

That's exactly the same as using cf auto root. So why not just use that?
Or just flash recovery if you don't need root. You don't need root if you're flashing a custom rom.

I guess the best thing is to check the main features of latest stable roms (based on stock firmware if you want all samsung features) and then try the ones you like the most..
I wanted to try android 4.3 and eliminate all the samsung (mostly useless for me) stuff, so i checked some threads in the forum and now i'm trying the supernexus 3 rom, it's pretty good, with not many customizations, but very lightweight..
