Well what he said... try flashing the stock from through Odin as described in the howto's.
Then afterwards you could try applying your zip.

Sounds like you need to extract from the zip and flash with Odin

Just to clarify......you are trying to flash the stock Rom? And where did you get this stock .zip from?
hi I have additional question. I found a crack!!! on "aluminium finished" on the right side of SGS3. Im ultra ROM flasher, so I know the ROM flashing basics. The problem is how to return the phone to the factory ROM and the samsung official service wont reralise that I flashed UNofficial ROMs. Instead of SGS2 I have no yellow exclamation when bootingup. Never been rooted prior to this incident
What i used:

Sometimes it doesn t get rooted. Check if you can boot into recovery or not by using button combo.

Question - considering that i have flashed cf.root 6.4, will the procedure below brick my phone?

You cannot install CWM recovery unless you root your phone. . Did you try going to recovery using button combo?? Sometimes, if roots after you manually go into recovery.
If not done, download Galaxy S3 unified toolkit and root using that.

If the cf root procedure was successful I wouldn't worry about installing a diff recovery just yet, lets get the phone booting 1st. Download a custom rom and get it moved onto your external sd card, Boot into recovery(from power off, press volume up, home button and power), make sure its custom and not default. Then install the custom rom zip and reboot it should hopefully fully reboot. then look into installing a newer custom recovery.

If the recovery has been updated to the custom CWM recovery then yes you could flash a rom which will come with root and super user. But it must be the custom recovery if your still on the stock recovery u couldn't flash a custom rom.

Ohk, is the recovery stock recovery or custom (CWM) recovery. Anyways, try to wipe data and cache and boot. If not successful, install a custom ROM. But make sure the recovery is CWM recovery.

yes, saw it. its a custom rom. tried wipe data / cache but didn't work. will try to install custom rom sentinel now.
was able to install the custom rom but kept on rebooting after few minutes. it already happened thrice now.
anything i am missing?
It could be the insecure kernel you used earlier is making it unstable, probably if the custom rom doesn't install a kernel. Only thing I can think of is install an official Samsung g3 rom which should repair all the partitions that might of been damaged or corrupted, use it for a while to make sure no reboots. Then go through root and install of custom rom again. In theory creating a good foundation to install a custom rom on.
Just out of curiosity did u download an official Samsung rom before starting to flash in case u need to send it away or sell it on? If not what network/country are u using? Is the phone locked to the network or unlocked?
Edit:- I never used a kernel flash to root my phone just used cf root 6.4 to get root and custom recovery cwm. I only changed my recovery this weekend to Phil touch.

Here is a .zip file containing a backup of the stock Huawei Fusion 2 ROM inside the .zip file is the stock recovery image. You can download the .zip file from here.
oh thank you!! so there is the rom and the stock recovery? do i just flash it through clockworkmod? will it replace clockworkmod automatically with the stock recovery or will i have to flash that too?

What you do is transfer the backup to your sdcard and then use CWMR to restore the stock backup. Restoring the stock backup should replace CWMR with the stock recovery image. For more information I would recommend taking a look at this guide here.

To help me understand what went wrong, do you have Clockworkmod Recovery installed on your device and are you still able to get into recovery mode? What step out of the procedure in thread you linked to failed (Did it fail on step 1, step 2, etc.)? If you can answer these questions I can help you out some more. Also if you need to flash your device back to the stock ROM check out this thread. Let me know if you still have questions I'll be happy to help.

I would recommend transferring this stock ROM to your device by booting into recovery mode, connecting your phone to your computer through USB and then using ADB (Which should be accessible in recovery mode) to push the zip to recovery mode which you can then flash. If you have any questions please feel free to continue asking as I'll be happy to answer them.
Hey everyone,
yesterday I made a big mistake with my SGS3. I wanted to full wipe it - what I did - but I also formated the internal storage. Now there is no OS on it.
It's still possible to get in the recovery and I was also able to push cm11 on the micro sd card, but I when I tried to install cm11 from the sd card, it wrote failed.
How can I fix that?
If possible it would be great if the instructions would be easy to understand.
Please help me!

How you tried to install cwm? O.O. You did all wrong i bet... Download the stock rom from the sammobile. Just put it stock, you know how to do that? And root again, and install the rom manager of clockwork mod and with that install cwm dude. Simple and you will have an updated version of cwm and all roms will work. Make sure that you are downloading the right zips. I bet you have the gt-i9300 ?

Yes dude... That's how i did. Stock rom -> root -> install rom manager on google play and in rom manager install cwm recovery. Then you go to recovery, already with the cm 11 zip in the sd card and so you do a wipe data and an install by sd card.

Hi all I recently rooted my Micromax A116 and desperately need help with following:
1. I used RootGenius to root my phone. I now want to wipe my phone and do a factory reset. I've already backed up important stuff but now need the phone to be as good as new (with root access). How do I go about doing this?
2. Once it's reset, which recovery and rom am I supposed to use? The threads here use other root methods so I don't know what works with what I used. Do I even need a custom rom?
Please talk to me like I'm five because I've basically 0 understanding of all this.
Can someone please help?
Can someone at least tell me if it would be safe to unroot, do a factory reset via settings and then re-root again?
Please help me, I'm desperate.

The first thing you need to do is to install a custom recovery which can be twrp or cwm according to your liking and then download flashable zips of any rom and
go by the instructions given in the rom thread

Ok but my phone is already rooted but the instructions on the rom threads are for both root+recovery. So I'm concerned if I try to re-root on top of an already rooted device it will cause problems. So what can I do to just install recovery only? there are no instructions for that.

do the following steps..
1.download and install mobileuncle tools.
2.download the latest recovery which you want... either cwm 6.0.5.1 or twrp 2.8.3.0.
3.place the recovery in your sd card in the open i.e., it should not be in any folder.
4. rename the file to recovery. hence the file will be recovery.img.
5.open mobile uncle tools, go to recovery update.
6. 1st option will show the recovery in your sd card.
7.click on it... then press ok... then reboot.

Thank you for replying...I had given up and wasn't expecting a reply at all so didn't check for last few weeks.
So where can I download the latest version of cwm? there seem to be so many versions and most seem device specific. I'm not able to figure out Edit I've downloaded an older version which is mentioned that it works for micromax a116, is it safe to download a later version if its not specified it works with this phone?
