Hi all !
My galaxy tab is a GT-P7500V and my provider is Videotron in Quebec. I rooted my tab to be able to remove all of Videotron's bloatware but I wanted to backup the rom before doing it. When I tried that, ROM Manager rebooted my tablet as soon as I chose "Backup current rom" and then it hung at the galaxy tab logo.
I tried a normal reset with the power button, also tried to go in recovery mode but neither option works. I even removed the casing and unplugged the battery for about a minute but that didn't do it either. I can only get to Download mode.
Here's what I did.
1. I rooted my tab using the procedure in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657758
2. I installed ROM Manager.
3. Opened it and installed Clockworkmod Recovery.
4. I chose "Backup current rom"
I think I messed up in step 3 and chose the wrong cmw. I know my tab is not a 10.1v but the only other 10.1 choice was 10.1 wifi so I chose that one. My tablet is actually 4G (or 3G branded as 4G, apparently they do that in Canada) and wifi so I thought I was picking the right one.
I know I can flash a new rom since I have access to download mode but I'm concerned now. I googled for hours and hardly found anything for the 7500V and I'm afraid I'll brick it this time if I flash the wrong rom.
How do I fix this ?
Problem fixed
Curiosity and the urge to try were stronger than my fear of bricking my tab so I just had to do it. I downloaded Odin and flashed recovery-cwm_4.0.0.4-sam-tab-10.1.tar.md5, as soon as it was finished my tab rebooted and everything is just as it was before.

Hello ppl,
i got a big problem, i hope someone can help me.
A friend of mine, gave me his galaxy s 2 to fix it. It just showed the battery icon with a circle running into it.
I fixed it with the JIG and got into download mode.
Everything is fine until now, even the flash with Odin shows success, but the phone just wont start up.
It doesnt matter what i do, or flash, its stuck in the samsung galaxy s II screen.
Download Mode is working, but Recovery not. When i try to enter the recovery mode, the phone hangs with the same screen like above.
Is there anything i could try to fix this?
Thank you
geminga
Okay relax, as you can get into download mode, there's a chance that you can still fix it.
I think you're running the wrong kernel or modem here.
I advice you to freshly install a new rom, and then install a CF-Rooted kernel that allows you to get back into recovery.
Once you got that worked out, get into recovery and select Wipe/factory reset. It should boot now.
If this still does not solve your problem, install VillainRom 2.0 using the process described in the thread. I had the bootloop problem too, but Wiping, Flashing and Wiping again did the trick for me.
Thank you mate I will try this later. Im will report if I was successful. (i hope so)
I flashed 2.3.4 ROM with Odin and then CF-Recovery but i can still not access recovery mode. It shows the yellow triangel but still hangs with the samsung galaxy screen.
I think that phone has become a nice paperweight...
As 2.3.4 is a test release i would try older stable firmware .
Flash a stock 2,3,3 rom via Odin and see if it boots .

Is there something for Samsung that completely replaces everything including ROM,recovery and such things?
From my desire I know, if a RUU can't boot your phone it is 100% bricked. So I need something like that for that sgs2, to be sure that this is no hardware failure...
I will try some flashes and report after that.
Sent from my HTC Pyramid using XDA App
what i would do is install one of these carrier branded ROMs http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
and see if it boots, if it does then flash the cfroot [specific to the carrier version you choose e.g. KF2] make sure thats the right one. that should give you recovery as prodygee has said. then do a full wipe, system, data, cache, dalvik and reboot.
afaik this should work. that's worked for me on numerous bootloops!
Hope this helps, Rumble
solved [Arrow Galaxy s 2 wont start]
i just followed this link... >>1.Make sure that your phone is Samsung Galaxy S2 not any other. If you try this process on any other phone then the phone will be damaged.
2.Create a backup of your all useful phone data with the help of backup apps that ensure your phone data.
3.This process will take several minutes or may be hours so make sure that your phone battery consumption is maximum.
4.Remove the SIM card and external storage SD card.
5.Download both these files.

Okay i rooted my Samsung stellar everything went okay, and the way i rooted it was with a S3 root, so i wanted to back up my rom to play around so i downloaded room manger, i didn't see my device supported for the clockworkmod so i downloaded a s3 one, after that, it went into recovery boating, it went into a loop, and when it finally turnt on MY TOUCHSCREEN AND SOFTKEYS WONT WORK, so i went home and just turnt my phone back to stock. still wont work. i factory reset so now my usb debugging is off. should i just start looking at a new phone? i have no warnty
Rom manager is known to hardbrick phone when u flash recovery from it to unsupported or unlisted phone.
RIP the poor thing.
Hi, first of all sorry about my english. Well my brother bought a moto g and he previously owned a galaxy s2, as he wont need it anymore he wants to sell it, and allready sold it, so he asked me to make a factory reset. So here starts the problem, yesterday at night I went to configuration -> restore and backup (or something like that) and restored it, I gave him the phone and told him to let it finish, he came back like 30 mins after saying that the phone was just like I left it, and it wont finish, so I removed the battery to turn it off, when I tried to turn it on again it was stuck on a bootloop.
I thought "ok lets wipe/restore it by entering to the recovery menu", made that, wiped everything, turned off, and on again, and it was bootlooping again.
Then I was convinced that something where wrong with the rom, that maybe the phone was softbricked or something, so I downloaded a stock rom, (I had odin previously installed becouse I had a s2 like 1 year ago) and tried to flash the rom with odin. It got stuck on Setup connection, tried another cable, the same, tried another usb port the same.
I downloaded the latest odin version and tried again, but no it gets stuck on boot.img if I try to flash a full pda, or in zimage if I try to install a kernel (I tried to install a custom kernel like siyah to have cwm and flash a custom rom by the recovery menu).
I red that the last option was to make a repartition with a pit file, and that it was very risky because it may brick the phone. Was my last hope so I made it, odin flashed it without a problem so then I thought the problem was solved and now I could flash a stock rom.
Again I was wrong, I still cant flash anything, I dont know wtf is going on, it seems that I cant write anything on the phone, like it has a sort of "lock" like a micro sd adapter.
Please someone help me, becouse I tried EVERY single method mentioned in this forum and I dont know what to do, Ive owned a defy, galaxy s2, nexus 4, nexus 5, I softbricked them all and I always could repair it, but now I dont know what to do. Thanks

I have purchased a new phone and want to give my old S3 to my young son. I wanted to wipe everything on the phone so he could just use it as a music player/internet tool (no actual sim for phone use)
So I held the "volume up, power and home button" together and got myself into Team Win Recovery Projext (TWRP v2.8.7.0) I then accidentally wiped everything , so now the phone wont get past the "Samsung S3" title page when switching it on. I can get into TWRP still but none of the options seem to work. It tells me I have "no OS"
I now have a sad son who was waiting patiently for "dad's old phone" to play with.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just download any ROM you want (a stable one) in the section under Galaxy S III Android Development, save it on a micro-sd card, insert card into phone and flash the zip file in TWRP.

thanks for your reply but I don't have a micro SD card for it. I read that I can flash the ROM using Odin? Is this a possibility? (I need to youtube instructions - this is new to me)
I went to the s3 ROM section as you suggested. How do I pick one to suit my S3 19300? I am assuming any will do from there? I picked the top one http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-archidroid-v2-4-6-power-hands-t2354859
Just go to sammobile, search for your device (i9300) and download latest, https://www.technobezz.com/flash-stock-rom-via-odin-samsung-galaxy-s3/ there u have the easiest way how to do it, nothing complicated just plug your phone in download mode and select file then flash it

If the phone is btu you can flash this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4vTiHTBB629OVlvY0pkcXN4ak0/view?usp=drivesdk
If it isn't btu, dont flash it. (btu is unbranded worldwide edition, not locked to a carrier).
Beamed in by telepathy.
thanks for the google drive download link. (my phone is btu) I dl it to my google drive but extracting it is taking forever (whole day and just stalling)
To be clear, I have a samsung galaxy s3 i9300. So I tried flashing the following tar using odin " CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5" .
It was successful (all green in odin and said success) but when the phone then goes to auto reboot it just stalls on the 'galaxy s111 GT-i9300' opening screen (as it always does now) . any tips?
I am new to all this,
Can someone tell me the difference in flashing this tar file (small file 21MB) compared to other flash files recommended on samsung websites. Large files e.g 4.3 BTU-I9300XXUGMK6-20131216145831.zip nearly 1GB in size?
Open Odin, uncheck everything except f reset time, flash, when you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, boot into recovery mode, factory wipe, reboot.
thanks everyone for your help. My old S3 is up and running!! looks great to see the old beast with a new lease of life. My son is very excited!
Hello. I have a 2012 Samsung Tab 2 that was branded for ATT and the model number is SGH 1497. It has been in a drawer for a year and I never use it but I thought I would experiment with it and try to install the Marshmellow Rom even though I am a noob at this stuff. My first problem was that I saw nothing for my version SGH 1497 but I did read on a forum that the Rom 5113 would work for that model. After going through a lot of websites I finally found one that seemed pretty easy and the root process went perfectly for me, no issues at all. I then followed instructions and downloaded the needed files and moved them onto my tablet and all was going well. I was then instructed to boot into recovery mode and that is where my troubles started. I believe it said to hold power and volume down key. Recovery mode would pop onto the screen but then vanish and it would never go into it. So I did more reading and someone had posted that I needed to download the toolkit and re-install a new recovery mode. So I did that just fine and still the same thing happened. I then tried 2-3 more of the other recovery modes and the same thing happened. At that time the tablet would still boot normally. So then I did something else and now my tablet wont turn on anymore. If I push power enough times the Samsung logo will pop onto the screen and then it goes away and that's it. It will turn on to download mode but that is it. Nothing else. Im not upset because I knew this could happen but I surely should have came here first. Is there anything I can do to get this thing back working again or is it hopeless??
Thank you for any help and advice.
Thomas
I was able to fix it by finding the exact same firmware that ATT put on this tablet and then using Odin to flash it. Works fine and is rooted.
Does anyone know of a custom rom that will work on this model sgh 1497??
Thanks.
