Not trying to brag or anything, but when I see reviews for this phone I see people saying it gives random reboots, locks up, crashes, overheating, and that It's just so problematic..however I never witnessed any of that, my phone never froze once on me and never had any problems like that. I've had this phone for about a month and a couple weeks and no issues
Yeah. Not every phone is built the same. I've had mine since day one. Still runs like a champ.
Don't know what all the fuss is about it's an excellent phone in fact I couldn't be happier

Hmm Unless you don't follow proper procedures with flashing roms and kernels there shouldn't by any instability.
Also make sure u follow the devs suggestions for specific kernels and mods

Been using this since it launched in the UK. No problems whatsoever. My phones running default, had nothing done to it and It's smooth as butter.
The happy users won't complain or sing praises on forums much as we are satisfied with our product, while those that aren't happy will make themselves heard everywhere.
The only issue I have had is w/the touch screen freezing during calls --- although since I went on a flashoholic binge over the past week jumping between Sense based ROMs, CM7, CM9, and MIUI it seems to have fixed itself. I haven't had any issues all week.
All in all, I love it! Couldn't be happier!
I only really have four problems with this phone.
1 - The battery cover doesn't go on tightly in the top left corner.
2 - There is some dust under the screen.
3 - the phone gets quite hot under use occasionally.
4 - Having a PG86100.zip on the SD card makes it so that you can't boot to recovery through bootloader. Sure, it's easy to just remove it, but sometimes I forget to delete it and experiment too much. When I need to get into recovery in those cases, I can't because of the zip file. On my OG Evo if I didn't want to install the file, I could just say no and then tell the phone not to reboot. With this phone, if I say no, I HAVE to reboot.

Great phone, like it alot, also got an Sensation XE but I prefer my Evo 3D, don't know why, it's magic for me.
It gets very warm next to the camera(s) when I play graphics intensive games and the default music player is cruel, but I got PowerAmp and all in all I'm verry satisfied. Seriously, now the 3D-features aren't used for many times...but it's great to amaze people!
Here in Germany it's just 269€, means ca. 350$, cheap for the given value.
Yep, I never have any stability issues either, stock or rooted. This thing is a very stable beast!
I bought this phone on the release day for my dad's birthday. He had so many problems he had to get a replacement. I swear one day he was doing something on it and out of nowhere he had a reboot. He said it would happen all the time. I took possession of this phone about six weeks ago and have had not one problem at all. Maybe it didn't like him. But overall, this phone is awesome. Wouldn't give it up for anything in the world.

I do that usually, but when you can't boot the phone because of a ROM issue you can't exactly choose that option...

I've had the random reboot problem (about once per day and I've only seen it happen once), and was wondering if there was anyway to go in and see the crash report that gets sent to htc? When it asks me to send it I know I can preview the log, but is there anyway for me to go back and view it?
Also do you guys think I just send this evo back under warranty? It's completely stock haven't ran an ruu yet but I'm about to.
This seems to be a common problem with the htc amaze. Is this also an issue with your phones?

I think if you use root explorer you can view HTC log I just don't remember where exactly its located. You can also pull a last_kmsg with adb or an app.

Is it possible to hack a phone just by hooking up a phone to a usb port and the person doing the hacking never touching the computer (maybe automated)?
I know this is an off the wall question but a friend of mine said she hooked up her phone to one of her friends usb port and he hacked the phone and got all of her information including deleted files. She says he never touched the computer or got near her phone. She is not rooted and is using an S3.

Hello,
If anyone can save me a couple hundred bucks that I dont have, I would appreciate it.
Im running an S-OFF Unlocked DNA with
This rom - http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=2141129
and this kernel - http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=2021714
I've been running it without issues for two weeks. Today it just wouldnt turn on. It doesnt accept a charge. Ive gotten the white HTC screen to come on for a second a couple times, and I've gotten it to boot up fully once. But after the screen timed out, it wouldn't come on again.
Any help would be appreciated. Dont have money to buy another phone.
I've tried searching. Most people that have boot issues can at least get to a bootloader or recovery screen. I cannot.
Have you tried letting it charge for a long while? I've heard it takes some times up to fifteen minutes for the charging led to even lit.

Open up the phone and try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it if you feel comfortable doing that. I suggested that to a user having the same problem as you and that fixed it a couple of days ago.

I personally have never opened up this phone so I wouldn't know. But this is a suggestion that worked for someone else and has also worked when my nexus 7 did a similar act. It wouldn't indicate it was charging and wouldn't turn on but disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it worked for me. I doubt it's something to do with software as you said your set up was working fine for 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure this should fix it for you.

Well, I got the battery disconnected and reconnected. Even though the battery sits under the motherboard, the battery has a thin connector that its accessible without removing anything else. It doesnt appear that my problem has been fixed. I guess I wont ever know, my screwdriver slipped off the screw and connected with a pin on the board and sparked. Pretty sure I just shorted the whole thing.
Claim insurance or warranty. It sounds like a hardware problem if that didn't fix it.

I should mention it was jtagged. Not saying that was the root cause. But the inside of the phone is definitely different than a stock one. Mobiletechvideos.com put a different film on it than the one it came with. Any chance of warranty or insurance is out.
You can still try to claim it. Most of the time they aren't looking inside the phone. Though this really isn't your fault. It sounds like the hardware failed and that is why it wouldn't charge and boot. But we won't know now. I don't know how jtag works but it could have contributed to it.

I believe they would probably just charge you. Not really sure how it works. I have never paid for insurance and I have never broken my phones.

Just to add my 2 cents,
I have sent back phones to verizon and asurion for issues and every phone except one was rooted and never had an issue. I even traded in my thunderboolt towards the dna when it came out (they offered me $72.00) and all i did was uninstall superuser/busybox & titanium backup right in front of the rep and my fiance then handed it right to the guy on the spot. He turned it on, made sure the touch screen worked & then said ok, you get full trade in price.
As for the other phones that I sent in, droid eris, incredible and 2 samsung, all with one issue or another, never once did they charge me or call or anything. Got the new phone next day, sent the old one in and thats it. I have never had an issue.
Now I know this may not have happened for every one but I think if you just send it in via mail and not have an instore rep look at it, you will never have an issue. I think if an in store rep sees an issue and realize its rooted, they may flag it in case it goes in for verizon replacement or asurion replacement but just a normal send in should not cause an issue.
I've tried every single thing I can, so has sprint. My downloads on my galaxy nexus are 1.65mbs while my evo is 10kbs. Its frustrating. Sprint tells me that all Evo LTE run in 1xrtt BUT their display model AND an employees phone both run on erphd (or whatever). All 3 of ours side by side and mine is stuck on 1x. I've got a replacement coming after arguing for 2 hours over how my phone is buggy as hell, sometimes the back key doesn't even register. If my replacement is buggy should I have them replace it too? Oh yea, the lady that took my phone apart put it glass down on a table and scratched the screen to hell. I'm pissed that they told me my phone and 10kbs was normal when every single sprint phone I use in the exact same area is pulling 1.5mbs. Any advice? Lol

That's the thread I used to begin with. Nothing works. Settings-about-network still shows 1xrtt. My replacement will be here tomorrow but I'm afraid it'll have even more bugs than this one. I'm a bit of a gamer and in my opinion this beat out the s3 but fell slightly short of the optimus g so this is my phone of choice but I need my 3g. If it has bugs tomorrow should I deal with it or make them replace it again?
