hi guys. so, my phone started with a problem that he thinks he is always charging(found out the problem is on usb) and then i need to reset it to send to guarantee. so i flashed stock firmware by odin, and when the phone starts, there is no triangle. but in download mode it shows 3 counts of custom binary. so i rooted the phone with cf root on Odin and then installed triangle away v3.0.1.
i open triangle away and it asks for root permission and then i granted it. so i click on reflash counter, he says "the reflash counter has been reseted" but then, nothing changes. i mean, its like the button to reflash is supposed to do nothing. the triangle stills there and the count on down mode too. anyone have any idea about why is this happening?
obs:
when i openned triangle away for the first time, it didnt ask me to install any complements. i reinstalled it a lot of times and it never asks to install complements...why is that?
really need help guys...need to send my phone to guarantee but with this count not being zero they will refuse it
Why don't you replace the board yourself? It's easy to do and the board costs 'pocket change'. Read this guide if you're not sure how to do it......

I just got a new Galaxy S II, its not been even a week. Should I root my phone ? Since rooting will void my warranty, will un-rooting it get me back my warranty?
One of my friend has rooted and then un-rooted his phone but the yellow exclamation is still there. So scared to root it.

Yes providing you flash a stock rom and remove the warning triangle and custom rom counter .
One of my friend has rooted and then un-rooted his phone but the yellow exclamation is still there. So scared to root it
Thats due to them not reading the instructions .
Why do you want to root no point rooting for no reason .

unrooting will not get rid of yellow triangle. You have to flash back to stock kernel and you can use a usb jig to remove the counter
I read about the USB jig, You add a 301k resistor to pins 4 and 5 of microusb connector, but all it does is puts the phone in download mode. So how do I reset the counter?
And moving towards more common question. Is it advised to root the phone coz i'll be needing just the root access to compile stuff on-the-go (mainly c/c++ files) and ofcourse access to system folder. But I'm scared of voidin the warranty of such a costly phone, coz incase if it does, i'm screwed....
No, pressing VOL DOWN + HOME + PWR (pwr btn for approx 3 secs) puts the phone into donwload mode without resetting the ROM counter.
The USB jig does the same AND resets the ROM counter.
So in simple terms, if you needed to send it away for a warranty repair, you would put the phone into download mode with the USB jig before uploading a stock firmware.
There are other ways of removing the yellow triangle without the jig. The jig is ONLY required for resetting the ROM counter.
Thanks a lot.... building the jig.... Will give out soon....

U won't lose root
Flash zip in cwm, then put phone in download mode and flash stock recovery. Done.
How do u keep a count of 0 if u flash stock recovery again i flash the zip because wouldnt that set it back as a count of 1 when i reroot with odin
Doesnt flashing the stock zip put u back to stock which means id have a binary count of 1 after stock flash then a binary count of 2 after root flash

Flashing to stock adds one count to your counter.
But if you reroot and install cwm, you can flash it back to 0.
Personally, I wouldnt worry about it. You bought it used and as such, the only warranty you may have would be thru Samsung and they have ways beyond the flash counter from download mode to see that the phone was previously flashed.
Here's the tutorial on resetting the flash counter.
No i got my account new 15 days ago on a iphone therefor att store added the device under my insurance because i am 15 days into the 30 day period.
I did this because the phone had a chipped corner so if i ever wanted to pay the deductible i knew i could later on,, after i applied root via odin i seen it had a binary of 15 so i did this method through cwm recovery downloaded the att reset zip and then phone now does nothing absolutely nothing.. I pulled battery i plugged charger in nothing..
I was rooted before i flashed the reset zip, what happened here
Flash back to stock again. and resest the binary again.......
How can i flash back to stock again when i cant even see dload mode on the phone but i get a message at bottom of pc says qhbusb dload when i plug in the device
how are you trying to get into download mode?
with phone off:
IIRC you hold vol down + power till you feel a vibration then let go of power, but still holding vol down.
Ive tried everything under the sun i know about the power and vol down until vibrate, then keep holding power down,Ive had samsung drivers on my pc for years, ive been into download mode on this device ad every other samsung phone I have owned 100 times over ive tried it all for the past 12 hours.. its hopeless even a jig wont fix it. The boot up has been wiped off the map the phone is junk junk junk!
All cause i tried a simple method that for some reason worked for others and ****ed me over !!
I hope people dont plan on using this binary count reset zip.. its INSTANT BRICK!!!
All i ca do is claim it on ins...
What gets me is why does everyone whom im assuming most are adults on here feel the need to laugh poke and talk **** at everyones mistakes..in which it wasnt my mistake, I just followed a thread on how to reset binary count for the note , BUT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A ZIP FILE ,CALLED HOW TO FLUSH YOUR 600$ PHONE DOWN THE TOILET IN 3 SECONDS !
if it's any consolation, i hard bricked my phone the first time i tried messing around with flashing it; i had a brain fart and flashed something that was for a different model of the same phone. i feel your frustration at your phone, the forums, and everything else. it sucks.
my story had a happy ending, though, and if your phone still boots - even if only to a black screen - then you are in better shape than i was.

Just to be sure, download mode is hold the power and Vol down until you feel a vibration and let go of power, not the other way around like you have written.

This happened to me when I had my Infuse. I too had good drivers etc. I too had a black screen etc. Although my screen was black I was indeed in download mode.. What resolved my issue was using a different PC. It is worth a shot to save a $600 phone I think
.. Give it a try man.
Hope this helps.

For the record stock recovery flash does not initiate counter.
When I was learning I read and read and read some more before flashing. It does take a lot of patience, but you'all get there, all the knowledgeable members on this forum started from scratch, just like u.
I'm having some issues lately and I really need your help...
I don't know if it is relevant but i use resurrection rom with cf root 5.3
My s2 started to act weird 2 days ago when a yellow triangle showed up as i was charging it... I looked it up and as it seemed that I had to update my kernel.. I was using cf root 3.5 so it makes sense. I tried to update through cwm(flash kernel) but failed.. so i flashed it through odin... But then the problem got bigger as i couldn't open cwm or triangle away and the bigger problem couldn't connect via wifi... At first I thought (for the first 2) that my phone had become unrooted somehow (have no idea how) but SuperSU was accessible.. rom manager too... so i guess that was not the problem. And why can't connect via wifi??? It shows my rooter normally tries to connect but doesn't shows any message as fail to connect or something like that.. it just tries with no response...
I have no idea what to do.. I hope I don't have to format again...
Seriously... Noone??????

Wifi is kernel-related.
So, try to flash the correct CF-Root kernel again to your phone.
Maybe you tried to flash a wrong version of the kernel, or Kies was still running on your PC while flashing?!
Just try again to flash CF-Root kernel to your phone.
If it works, boot normal. Then shut down the phone.
Reboot into recovery mode (press Volume UP + Home + Power buttons as long as recovery menu appears), then select wipe cache and in Advanced > wipe Dalvik cache.
Then reboot the phone again.
Good luck !
edit
nevermind
I've already flashed the kennel and there was no improvement.. Somehow it doesn't recognize the kernel as it's the right one.. Unfortunately had to flash a new ROM.. But thanks for the information!!

Hii friends, few months back I rooted my phone. Now m planning to change the ROM. But m very much concern about working of my homekey button. Even after pressing it, it doesn't respond though sometimes it works properly (but only sometimes). My current ROM gives me option to go into recovery by pressing restart button but I am not sure whether the same option is there in the new ROM which I am planning to install. I might have problems if it doesn't have that option coz booting into recovery might get difficult if the key doesn't work. Is there any solution for it?
And also will Samsung service center entertain me with it taking into consideration the rooted state of phone (yellow triangle still there)?

Well firstly, you can use Triangle Away to reset binary counter and remove yellow triangle, then just flash stock rom via ODIN if you want to return for warranty.
Second, There are various apps on net that can reboot your device into recovery or download modes.
