Yep there is
Will add in OP later
Decompile systemUI
Navigate to /res/layout
Open navigation_bar.xml
In the second or first line there will be a code like android:background
It will state the color within apostrophes
Change the Color to
#88000000
Or
#5a000000

That won't make the navibar fully transparent, it requires some smali modification, there are guides about it but they're all for jb, and i couldn't find a way to make them work in ics.

Now I am using the FeraLab v4 ROM,a quite perfect ROM.
I'd like to change the background picture in the Settings( also Phonebook, sms, etc),then I replaced the "semc_bg.png"and"semc_bg_bright.png" both in framework-res.apk and SemcGenericUxpRes.apk.
However I failed. The backgroud turned black.
Adding more:
I have found the reason why the background turned black.
It is right to replace the semc_bg.png in the SemcGenericUxpRes.apk.
I used another picture to replace it and the background changed.
And the cause was that I chose a translucent picture to replace it and the translucent picture could not be translucent in the settings/phone/sms/etc.
In some ROMs,in the settings etc the background is translucent and we can see the wallpaper. It is nice.
Besides replacing a translucent picture, what else should we do so that we can see the wallpaper in the settings? Could you please tell me?
(Sorry,my English is poor and I have so many questions.^_^ )

What did you use to change the file in the framework? Maybe it's a repackaging problem?
I had this problem when I played with mine. It worked when I used 7zip to open the apk, copied the .png to desktop, edited that file in photoshop, then dragged it back in, closed 7zip and adb pushed it back to phone, rebooted and it worked

Use root explorer in your phone, i always use it to modify my framework, systemui and genericuxpres and it works fantastic
Open root explorer
Go into your system folder
Select to Extract the both framework and generic
Extract them again, you will end up with 2 folders of the same names in the folder called extracted in your sd
Replace the pics and whathever u need to replace in both the /res folders
After youre done, select the folder called framework and scroll to zip this folder then select go to zip or something(it will popup)
Find framework.zip and rename it to framework.apk
Then either paste it in some random flashable zip or push it to system and reboot(i always use the first method)
Repeat with Genericuxpres.apk
And youre done, always works for me, and ive always themed my phone this way(battery mods, signal, lockcreen, etc)
I also replace icons, mod the launcher and everything right from the phone
I only use a computer if i need a new rom
PS, dont replace semc bg bright only the other one

Now thats weird, did you replace the files exactly as shown in my theme?
Ok new plan, extract only the SemcgenericUxpres.apk from my zip and put it into another flashable zip and flash it straight
That apk is the same across all roms so it wont be a problem, but make a backup just in case
All will be transparent except the calculator and the rest of your theme wont be affected
Only the semcgenericUxpres.apk do not flash the framework

Its not different, SemcgenericUxpres.apk is the same across all stock based roms, devs dont mess too much with that file so its practically the same for everybody except for the background

You need to decompile your systemui.apk.after that go to res/values/
edit styles.xml, search for TextAppearance.StatusBar.Clock and change the value of android:textColor to 808080 (which i think is grey, not sure).after making changes, save and compile your systemui.apk and there you go...

Every application I use to decompile an ICS apk file returns errors.
What application are you using to decompile and then recompile the apk files?

Well, if you guys dont like it so be it, but it just blocks a very little block of screen and is indeed fast responsive . Hold it and drag it to where ever you want. Its a pretty good one actually, if you allocate some amount of screen like ICS for only those buttons, the display part will be small as the phones display too small
blagginspaziyonokip said:
Can you make it look like the real thing? As in there is a solid black bar on the bottom? Also a bad tutorial. Really bad tutorial.

Hello!
You may or may not have noticed that I love the color purple... :victory:
So, for a few months now (yeah, I'm slow) I've been working on a theme for stock Sony ICS ROM that will replace the Google and Sony blue with purple EVERYWHERE.
And I think I did a solid job on that one!
(Click on the image for larger preview)
So I am giving this to you, knowing that it might not appeal to most people's taste,
but I put in a lot of work and I am sure some of you will enjoy using it. :good:

● Enjoy!!!
SCREENSHOTS
See post #2.
Excuse the cr*ppy quality, I took them with ddms so they were of low quality to begin with, and uploading them here lowers the quality even more.
Here is a better and bigger preview image that will help you get the idea and here is a G+ album.

CM Theming engine does not cover 100% the aspects I want to theme
(I do lots of smali edits too), so I'll probably stick to the traditional decompiling-editing-compiling apk and jar files. Hence, the delays and the infrequency of my full theme releases.
On another note, I will be releasing some addons from time to time, so keep an eye on post #3.
So far, I have the Deodex/Supercharge/LED Fix Patch (for odexed .431 ONLY). This is a package that will:
► Deodex your framework folder
► Supercharge by 50% (for 100% you have to use the Supercharger Script)
► Fix the LED notifications for all system and 3rd party apps
(If you have already applied one or all of those patches earlier, installing my theme, will not interfere with them, as the core theme zip does not include any jar files, just apk and font files.)

Oh I see. But the theming engine will take care of a lot of things for you. You'll have to manually do things like mms.apk, contacts.apk Apollo.apk etc. Thats a lot less work than the Sony ROM.

UI Changes
v2.1
- Xperia Z2 Battery Icon mod is done!. 3 Icons (normal, charging, low). Its 2in1. I put text inside drawable and colored mod if level < 15! (from white to red)
- KitKat Gradient_Statusbar mod is done! . Thanx & credits go to @kk9999gada
Note: Its ready for Gin2Rom. If you are on stock, just click my signature for
GB SPECIAL! BatteryText% with JB Battery!! signal-%-battery! and do first 2 steps only!
(framework-res.apk modding)
------
v2.0
- dcsms layout is gone, re-wrote tabs with Eclipse and now all ok after reboot. (All appears)
- Two SystemUI apks, for stock and Gin2Roms..
------
v1.1
- Fullscreen added!
------
v1.0
- Used @dcsms 's two layouts smali code and two buttons. Yes, you know tab_layout is not working like real tabs so thats why two buttons are shining..
- As you know, quickpanel background has bugs because of ghost layout. ( I mean CloseDragHandle was animating until the end of notifications.
I thought and found a temporary but good solution for it so its ok for now.
- 15 quick toggle, I re-sized rows for 4-4-4-3 and added brightness slider too.
- Clock is am/pm included.
- Background is %40 dark like 4.4
- CarrierLabel is at bottom like Z2.
- Don't care my statusbar. Its just stock. No changes on top. BatteryText visibility is gone. You can activate it from status_bar.xml or maybe you use my signal-battery%text-batteryIcon mod. Its up to you.
- Bla bla..

SK17i? I had not got an idea that it will fit into yours. where are last 3 icons of toggles? Ara you able to use them too ?
If you use it with Gin2Rom, when reboot, at first stock battery icon appers but gets invisible in a few seconds. Thats normal.

Yeah, it fits. On Gin2 ROM for Mini Pro, all HDPI stuffs are resized to MDPI (I don't know how it works but it works).
Yes, I'm able to use the last 3 icons (just like IMG, right?)
About the battery icon, I thought it was part of your Status Bar, thanks for explanation.
I'm still wishing a transparent status bar, I've tried but failed to get the same effect from Z2.

Its good that icons fit. for a transparent statusbar, it may need smali editing. I dont know the effect of Z2. Maybe I check it later.
