Flashing CM10.2 on XT926 (from 4.1.2) - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi guys, thanks first of all for your amazing work overall and your continued support for noobs like me.
I am trying to flash CM10.2 to my XT926 running stock 4.1.2. I have created an ADB backup as following this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991253). However, I am unable to root my phone using his outdated method or any that I've found on other forums. I am aware that there have been some problems with root this time around.
Is there a way to A) root my phone and continue on B) finish the process without rooting?
Thanks

[Q] Need help on a relatively simple problem

Hi guys,
I posted a question similar to this before, but did not get much reply.
I have a chinese Razr, and I would like to install an English stock 4.1.2 onto it. This is mostly because for some reason gapps do not work and I really do want gapps.
I have not flashed phones for two years so I have no idea what everything is. And it seemed like all these requires root. Which is my other problem: I cannot install root on this phone no matter what I try. Someone suggested to me that this was because someone had rooted this phone before in an unconventional way and this locked the phone for any future roots. And when I had updated to 4.0.4 I had lost the root and cannot regain it. I must have tried 20 different methods to root this phone already so I'm pretty sure this is hopeless until I flash a different rom.
In any case, my android version is 4.1.2 and system version is 672.300.384.XT910ChinaRetail.en.CN
And I would like to flash a stock 4.1.2 on it.
Check in the dev forum, you'll find links to the correct gapps for your
version.

This is the gapps you need : http://www.4shared.com/get/HDGIsCws/update_gms_jb_spyder_r4.html
This is the china 4.12 root tool : http://dl.projectlense.com/download.php?file=spyder/razr_legacy_jbroot_034.zip
This is bmm apk : http://dl.projectlense.com/download.php?file=bmm/com.projectlense.bootmenu.getinfo.apk
What you need to do is simple, root your phone using the legacy jbroot by whirleyes, install the bootmenu manager apk file. Reboot into bootmenu recovery and flash the Gapps R4 package.
Dont thank me !

Which root method works for SGP 4.0 YP-G1 with 2.3.6???

Guys, I've been reading and reading through thread after thread and can't seem to find a definite and safe method for rooting my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 (U.S.) with 2.3.6. -I read about superoneclick and framaroot and it sounds like these methods work on devices running 2.3.5 but not the one I have. I want to use voodoo sound - that is really the primary and only reason I am trying to go through the trouble of rooting. I'm just tired of reading and searching now - could someone tell me what method works to root my device described above? thanks.
I used iroot worked first time out of the box

I just used Kingo Root - worked fine on 2.3.6. Now I am trying to figure out the next step - creating a nandroid before I go any further. It's proving to be a bit confusing. CWM seems popular but the app page for ROM Manager (I assume I need this to use it?) says I need a kernel that is compatible - where do I get that? I don't want to install a special kernel yet because I want to back up my current system which is working fine right now so I can go back to it. Does the kernel even matter in the back up process? I just don't understand it all quite yet. Should I use TWRP instead? Maybe with that one I don't need a compatible kernel? Help....

New to LG's need help

Hi guys
I just got LG G3 from Sprint and I did somehow manage it to root it using kingo. I also got notification that update is downloaded (OTA), should I install it or not? Root and Hotspot are important to me but feel free go give me any suggestions - I would appreciate them. If you decide to do that I might need some help because I was away from android for a while....
Thank you in advance!
Forgot to mention, running 4.4.2 Stock Rom, rooted
The OTA you got is probably to take you Lollipop...I recently unrooted and went from 4.4.2 KitKat to 5.0.1 Lollipop. I read numerous times not to take the OTA updates when rooted on KitKat. I used an unrooting method that used the LG Flash Tool - something like this - http://www.androidrootz.com/2014/07/how-to-unroot-lg-g3-all-variants.html - though there's a similar guide here at xda, too. You'll need to download some files, including the flash tool. It seems daunting at first, but follow the instructions closely and you'll get through it.
Thank you on your response, I was very disappointed that many people viewed thread but ignored. My primary concern is - will OTA make device not rootable or rooting should still be easy process?

How to unroot / flash stock rom - Jelly 2 smartphone

Hello together,
I've rooted my Jelly 2 smartphone and unlocked its bootloader (using MAGISK). It worked well and I gained root access.
After that, I am not very happy with it and I want to undo it again (pls dont question that).
As I am quiet a newbie in rooting, I don't really know how to unroot the device again, flash its custom ROM and lock the bootloader again.
I had clicked "uninstall" in the MAGISK App and due to that, I've lost my rooting access.
But I also want to flash the normal stock ROM again and lock the bootloader.
May you please help me how to do it? I have downloaded an official stock from from the Unihertz Jelly 2 phone but dont know what to do next.
There are many diffeferent tutorials out there and I feel quiet lost.
Please help!
Thanks in Advance
Zzkywalker
