So I'm trying to root my GS4 with the VRUAMDK method, but I can't seem to get the little pop up dialoge to appear on my phone when i plug it into the computer and enable USB Debugging.
Anyone know how to re enable the dialoge that prompts you to always acecpt from this computer?

I already had it enabled its just that the dialog wasn't coming up when I plugged it into my computer. Factory Resetting fixed it though. Thanks anyways

Hi my atrix 4g is running the stock rom 2.3.4 beta4 from kenne. And I found out that when I connect the atrix 4g to my laptop, it didn't go USB debugging mode, as I did switch on the USB debugging on the atrix.
Can someone give me a hand on this?
How did you determine it didn't go into debugging mode? Are any devices listed if you do "adb devices"? Did you confirm that debugging is enabled (settings->Applications->Development)?
Yes it didn't go to the debugging mode. I didn't try that. Yes I can confirm I enabled the debugging

What did you expect to see? When you enable USB debugging it basically means that you can access the device using adb via a USB cable. Just connecting a cable does really change the look of the display, other than in the notification bar, the debugging icon will appear.
Have you tried connecting your Atrix to your laptop while in "Mass Storage" mode? Does that work?
I expect a debugging icon on the notifications bar.
I took some screen shot with the phone

I never noticed that the icon doesn't show up on my notification bar. However, if I do "adb devices" from either my Win7 PC or Ubuntu system, it displays my device. Further, I can do "adb shell" and access the phone.
Therefore, I'm guessing your phone is in debugging mode and the icon is not being displayed.
I have just confirmed that the icon is not displayed on my Cherry Pi (0.4) or a stock AT&T build.

Have the same problem here too when I connect my S4 to my computer I always get the installer option. If I find something will let you know.
Try this thread in the S3 forum. I was able to reset the the options to MTP and it would work for a while, and then revert back to "installer". I'll keep playing with it and see if I can get a more permanent solution. I'm on MJ7 rooted, not sure if that makes a difference. If you're on another build, it may work for you.
Changing USB settings
Seems like it could work but cant enter this code to go into the menu from the dialer: *#22745927.

Hello,
I recently installed Cyanogenmod on my phone using the CM Installer. Now my phone is having issues connecting to the PC. I want to try and troubleshoot the problem by turning off ( or on???) USB Debugging.
I push the Build Number 7 times. It brings up Developer Options. I go there but USB Debugging is not listed as an option. Other options are there such as...
- Android debugging
- USB debugging notify
- ADB over network
... etc.etc.
Does anyone know what happened?
Kind Regards
Cheers

What version of cyanogenmod have you installed on your phone (I knows it's install version, but have you updated yet?) What does android debugging say?
Today I've noticed that usb debugging automatically switch off after closing the developer options page. I enable it and if I go back it switchs off. If I enable it with phone connected all is right but if I unconnect phone from pc it switchs off. There is no way to keep the options enabled. Any tip ?
Thanks
EDIT: if in developer options you reset all settings that usb debug remain enabled until reboot. But if you reboot it's disabled again...
This phone is incredibly mad.... Enabling usb debug with phone connected and rebooting via adb, unplugging cable during boot, the option remain enable if you DON'T open developer options screen. If you do it it disables again.
I don't have words......

I have Eedmi note 4 and my USB debugging(Security settings) keeps turning off when i come back from developer settings. My USB debugging is ON but below this there is another option called " USB debugging(Security settings)" which is used for simulating input via usb , and this option keeps turning off.
Is there an option to fix this issue, im on android 7.0 with miui 10.2.3.0 global stable ui.
Every time I try to connect my phone in order to root it, there is no way windows detects it even after installing Samsung universal USB drivers. Is there some setting I have to enable in the phone? I have already enabled USB debugging still nothing. Please Help. I have tried so many different cords, and even really expensive cords, still nothing but charging only please help.
U have to open Developer Mode from ur setting : about phone, software information, n then touch the Build Number 7 times n ur Developer Mode will be opened.
Go back to setting, u will see Developer Option: n then swift "USB Debugging" on.
Now it will be done.
