the folder can see in Windows Explorer , other program can't find that folder.
really strange ... try renaming the size of photo you see on your PC in jpg format
Check LOST.DIR
Is this internal sd?

No it look like that, and every time i try to copy or open it say error.
Looks like corruption to me. Download h2testw.exe (Google it) to Test the card. It needs a reader (or mass storage mode).
Set it to test the full capacity (it will take an hour+ maybe) but worth doing

Create a script with Script Manager (from the market) and run it at boot (or you could put it in system/etc/init.d/ if your ROM supports it).
This is the script:
cd /mnt/sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails
rm *.*
rm .*
This should clean up your thumbnails folder on every boot
What is the format of script file (script file.***)
Can I put the script file with root explorer?

Lol, I thought I was the only one. Just stop using stock gallery.

1GB? You have a million photo's on your sd card?
Well, I have more have 1,000+ photo and all
BTW, I Moved All my Photos on MY PC and deleted from my NEO and problem solved
delete SD Card DCIM\.thumbnails folder and use quick pic instead of xperia **** gallery...
Stopping Thumbnails
Actually there's an easier method to solve your problem without having to delete photos, if youre on linux, just right click, create a new file and rename it to ".thumbnails". Then delete the thumbnails folder on your android, and copy this file there, the result is that a folder cannot have the same name as a file, thus your thumbnails cache wont be generated. For windows users, youll have to download notepad++ application, and click on new file, dont type anything, click on save> change file type to "all types" and enter file name as ".thumbnails", Problm solved!!
SOLVED

Yes Yes its the best method, why should i let 1000 s of pics in my phone? For what?
I had 1.3GB of Thumbnails, Archive Pics in the PC and the Problem is gone.
PS. Sorry for my English
I don't know why or how but all my ringtones/music files don't show up in media library or sound picker anymore.
This was after re formatting my SD card in order to create an EXT and a swap partition.
Since then I deleted all partitions and re formatted my card just the way it was originally.I also tried clearing data of Music app and Media storage app.I also rebooted countless times and my last resort was re flashing kernel and Rom.
Still nothing to my surprise (!).
What's going on?
Please help me cos I think I be tried everything...

Brov try move tha MP3 files to Media/audio.. if there is no such folder, create & move dem there den reboot!!! Lets see if it will work.
I think something is seriously f*cked up big time software wise. The phone can't play its own ogg files such as alarm sounds. Also it reports no audio files at in internal memory (!).
All these even after Factory Reset in phone and CWM,restoring a perfectly working ROM and even flashing again MESA kernel 1.4.
Nothing seems to fix the problem.
What's next? I m at a loss here.

Try flash GB .62 & lets see buddy........
Can you see your mp3 files with an app like ES Files?
If you can, can you launch your files with this app? Have you tried another app to launch mp3?
For the ogg, when you said "Can't read his own ogg" you mean when you choose the ringtone or smthing like that you have an error message?
Your sdcard has to be in FAT format, else it won't work.

Sound can be played only on FAT format? Else it doesn't work?
Cause i want to cut my sd to keep a part with only song
Dude format your memory card with phone itself and then try for music files

Well,I fixed it.
A combination of messed up permissions and corrupt files.
Go figure... :what:

I'm looking for a troubleshooting tip. My camera will snap a picture and the image appears in the gallery preview thumbnail in the camera app, but when I go to the gallery there is no trace of the image. What should I do to troubleshoot this? Everything appears to be working but the image is not saved.
I'm using Jelly Beans Build 10 ROM.
I'm sure you've done the obvious clearing data, permissions etc. If you use a file explorer are the images actually being saved?

Couple questions to ask.
1. Did you choose sd swap?
1b. If yes, when in camera app, does this show up? \/

I chose mostly default options. I didn't sd swap.
Which app should I clear? I've tried several including galeray and camera.
It will save to memory card, but not to phone.

did you stay with Beans stock kernel or go with one of the others? I currently am running no SD Swap and his stock kernel and just checked and can take photos that get saved to the internal memory card.
Just wondering if the other two kernels, since not built for our phone, might cause this. I never save photos to the internal card so never thought to look at this when running one of the other kerels.
Since this only happens when you try to save to the internal memory.
Edit*Should note for anyone else who reads my statement that the kernels are ported to work with our phone, but not written from our stock kernels source code.
Another idea. Have you tried to delete the DCIM folder on your internal and just let the camera make a new one with your first picture?

So I have searched and searched through my phone and I can't find what is taking up all my space. I"m on Nos M7 3.05, android 4.2.2. It created the sd card 0 which is fine but it's like there is some hidden files that are taking up so much space. I was on a older version of nos and did a back up. Flashed this and now I can't find my back up. Can anyone help me?

Well I looked there before, and yes it has my old stuff but nothing in there was taking up that much space. So it was data/media/emulated I deleted media which only had the emulated file there. It broke the rom i was on, but I fixed it with a adb sidload. So now it says I have ten gigs, I guess must have had an hidden back up in there or something.Still missing 5 gigs? I mean at least 3 taken up by the os right?
did you try to erase old backups in the clockworkmod folder?

What you deleted was a symlink to your /0 folder, so you basically deleted your sdcard as 4.2+ sees it, your 4.1 stuff may still be in /data/media. Not all file explorers show it correctly, solid does and I think maybe es might in root mode, otherwise a lot get confused by the symlinking and show your /0 not data/media.
If you don't have solid, there's a trial doe it, give it a try, or other root explorers, and see if you can see inside /data/media.
Tapatalked from my HTC DNA - Carbon
i have a samsung galaxy s4 mini
i am getting a nexus 5 in a few days
i want to transfer 5000 images i have on my whatsapp from samsung to nexus
i know the procedure
the problem is that when i connect the phone usb to laptop, and i browse to whatsapp/media where the 6000 images are stored, it doesnt show, the green progress bar takes ages to load and then stays blank the phone then sort of disconnects from the PC until i browse out of the phones folders back to My Computer
i cant transfer via dropbox because if i highlight "whatsapp images" folder in gallery on the phone, it says i cant only transfer 500 at a time
the only way i can do this is if the 6000 images appear on the folder when i browse to it on my laptop and then copy and paste into a folder on my PC (to keep until nexus arrives)
how can i do this?
i hope my problem made sense
this is what happens when i copy the "media" folder under phone/whatsapp
to my computer
it stays like this

yes so i read your 3 posts and i managed to reach to the same place as u ... where the files do transfer but really slowly .. it feels like the computer or phone are scanning each image for copyright or drm or something .. i thught it was my comp but i tried this with a brand new haswell core i5 pc and no hope ... i have tons of photos and videos ..
i will try the airdroid method now ..
i even think phone to phone might be faster .. I am going to use SUPERBEAM a wifi direct transfer app and see if that is faster.. will report back .. .
if any one knows a faster way please Help !!!
