How to test an I9300 motherboard without a screen? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
Is there any way to test an i9300 board without a LCD screen?
I have one here but I don't have any working LCD (the one I have is totally wasted).
I wish to know if it is still working so I can buy the screen+digitalizer kit to fix it.
Any ideas?
EDIT
Haha, I just realized to put it in a USB port of my computer. It lit up the front lights (from the menu/back) and my PC found it.

Problems w/ replacing LCD

So I cracked my LCD screen, bought a replacement, opened up the phone w/ little incident (man they really do cram a lot in there!) and I powered it on.....
the screen is just white, if I fiddle with the connection at where the LCD connects into what I believe is the digitizer I can kind of see a keypad button layout.
What do these symptoms describe and does anyone have a link to the service manual?
Thanks in advance for your time.
I had to replace the LCD on a wizard so here my experience... Make sure the two data ribbons are inserted securely. Also, before you power on, plug your hermes into your computer (assuming your computer is on and logged in as an admin) via USB (this sounds weird but I had to do this for some reason....) and then turn on the wizard.
If you still have a problem, you may have damaged something more than the screen.
Good luck.
Ok I will give plugging it in a shot.
Before you plugged it in what did it do when you powered it on?
anyone else have any input on what the issue could be?
It could be wrong LCD. There are two types of LCD for hermes/wizard with same connector but they are different. One is with gold flex cable, the other is with black flex cable. First one is most popular on wizards, the other on hermes. Check what was the color of your previous lcd flex cable and the new one.
Instructions
Can anyone post the instructions on how to take the lcd apart ?
I have gotten this far

I'm a bit afraid to go on without instructions

htc touch plus digitizer problem

hi
i have a htc touch plus or as they call it htc touch dual.digitizer issue it stoped responding so i bought new one fitted in and still the same problem .i think is a software problem i guess driver software for touch screen .if any one can help please
thanks
Touch Dual digitizer
Hi Saliml2
Not convinced it is a software issue. My digitizer on T-Mobile Touch Plus did the same thing. It stated behaving erratically and then stopped responding altogether. I replaced the digitizer (via eBay) and it work for a few days and then stopped again.
I have read around the internet and have tried several ROM updates etc (currently running a WM 6.5.5 found in other area of this forum) but this has not solved the problem.
It seem to be an alignment issue - i.e. screen alignment is outside the screen area, but there seems to be no way of getting it back. Could be a fault on the phone mainboard (?) but there doesn't seem to be any info around apart from sending it to HTC for repair (not viable as the phone value negates this)
My phone is still not working, I might try opening it up again and reseating the digitizer cable but have done this twice already.
Have you try change the flex cable?
I had one to, with the same problem, and after changing the flex everything was ok...
Good luck!
Hi Amokh Just to clarify, what is the flex cable? The digitizer has a cable already attached to it that plugs in to a zif connector on the mainboard - I assume that this controls the data flow for the digitizer.
Any help would be appreciated.

[Q] Screen Replacement Question

Hi, I have a Galaxy S2. I've dropped it and screen stopped working. ( Digitizer & LCD ). I would like to use the phone to a tv screen.
Example: Connect the S2 to a TV screen and use it with a Mouse/Keyboard.
Could somebody tell me if this is possible and what method "cables" are needed.
Thanks !

[Q] LCD not working; logicboard, flexcable or screen?

Hi all,
Recently, I bought a Sony Xperia Tablet Z of which the previous owner had removed the whole screen. Tablet was working, then he dropped it, causing the screen to be broken (LCD was blacked out, tablet and digitizer/touch still working). He removed the screen assembly as a whole, had the intention to replace it but he just sold the rest of the tablet.
So I obtained an LCD/digitizer assembly form AliExpress, but after installing the screen and switching on the tablet, I got the same problem: Touch is working fine, tablet switches on nicely, I get some kind of 'blind-modus?' that responds to touch with sounds, it tells me I'm swapping through menus, but the LCD itself does not give any signal. Linking it to PC works fine too. Linking it to a TV requires an MHL cable, which I don't have...
My question is:
Does anyone know if this is a well-known problem after dropping an Xperia Tablet? I'm more or less sure it's not the LCD of the replacement screen that causes the problem (given the background), so the problem might be in the LCD flex cable, or worse, the logic board. But how to find the faulty component?
For the flex cable: I've tried to measure (multimeter) the resistance of the wires between each tiny pin of both the connectors of the ribbon, but it's not easy. Some pins on one connector are linked to multiple other pins of the other. Is there an easier way to check this, anyone any experience with this?
If it's the logic board, is there any way to make sure which component is broken, and is this fixable?
If it might help: I have a set of pictures of the logic board / flex / LCD.
Otherwise, I might just try and stop by a tablet/phone fix shop, ask kindly if I could quickly check one of their screens/cables to verify which parts are working/broken.
Thanks in advance!! Kind regards
Edit: I just noticed there is a specific forum for Xperia Z (one), this thread belongs there, sorry! Could this thread be moved there?
