hey guys...
recently got a xperia mini pro off ebay... been using the xperia mini before and was a great phone.
1. does the xperia mini pro (sk17i) and xperia mini (st15i) use the same battery? If so, the battery on my xperia mini shows 1120mAh, while the mini pro shows 1200mAh
2. the previous question leads to this: do you guys know why when i put my ear close to the back cover of the phone, i can hear a faint "bzzzzzzz" sound? Most likely coming from my battery
FYI: never heard of this noise on my xperia mini
thanks

Its better you go for a replacement bro... may be the damage occurred in shipment coz a battery should never give a buzzzz sound as you said

my phone was bought on ebay from hong kong seller
i have also rooted the phone...
are you suggesting i goto an aftermarket service center? i'm afraid since this is not a common phone, my small battery problem may get worse after they open up the phone and cant figure out what's going on, possibly causing some other part to not function properly

How is the sound of the speaker? As good and loud as on the xperia ARC s?
Can you use the transparent backlit bar on the phone as a notification light, too?
Does the notification light work on the front?
How does built quality feel?
How does the display act outdoors? Clearly visible?
Thanks!

That sounds good.
I've read in one of the reviews that the in-call-volume seems to be too low, can you confirm this?
I tried an ARC and a PLAY and they have both excellent call quality and volume which I expect from the new Sony phones as well.

Friends help me, do not know why the battery of my xperia mini pro SK17 not hold more cargo, when I put him in making it binds normal, but just take it off and restarting is, he has less than two months, this occurred after I calibrate the battery, help me not want to buy a new battery.
How did you "calibrate" it? There is no such thing on Android phones.
I can't understand, what happens if you put battery in and try to turn on the phone.

Hi friends...this is the first thread by me so far and that too bcoz i cant sort out my problem by myself.
so the problem is with my neoV's screen...first it started a few times while scrolling through lists...then anytime touching any option...the display showed vertical coloured lines starting from the top coming down and went blank in 1.5 seconds...then nothing...everything on the screen gives respond on touch but i cant see anything...just blank black screen.
at first the problem went away when locking the screen and unlocking after a minute...but now...it persists even after reboots...i cant even see the boot screen...nor the recovery options...so no way to do anything.
i changed kernels via fastboot, dried the device with hair drier...only repairing with pc companion or flashing stock ftf is left...but i think the problem is not software related.
i think i have damaged my screen by charging from a samsung charger.
i will update the findings after flashing a ftf or repairing with pc companion.
any of you have any idea about the problem?
thanks.
well, I think same as you, hardware problem, LCD passed away..
PCC or .ftf and to the service center.
btw, why you mean it's caused by samsung charger?

coincidence I would say..
Though my friend is having problem with one old slide samsung when charging it with SE charger, phone freeze, restart and lose sms's but that's not coincidence as it happens everytime when she charge it with SE charger... strange indeed.

in my case...i cant authentically say it is bcoz of the samsung charger...anyway...downloading .431 ftf...very slow conection...then if the problem persists...i will have to relock the bootloader to take it for service.
but i fear they may ask for the charger...and if i take the torn charger to them...they will straight away refuse to repair under warranty...and buying a new charger will be costly...sony equipment is always costly...and i think it would be better to repair my charger by myself and replacing the display.

Don't worry, they wont ask you that. You are claiming warranty for phone, not charger
In none of service center I've been to, charger was need to be given.

Hey.
So i got a chance to trade my used Oneplus one for a used Sony xperia z2 like new with all accessories sealed and the dock head to head.
What do you think I should do and why?
If you have experience with both please elaborate! What's better and what's worse?!
Thx.

I never had oneplus one, but in xperia you will surely enjoy the waterproofness.
However there's one important thing while getting a xperia device, a warranty. Make sure that it's there and valid. Also before changing to xperia check whether the headphones jack works.

Surely Xperia Z2 is better.. In Oneplus, CM is Stock.. So no other option. In Z2, Stock is entirely different and its almost as fast as CM ROMs.. OnePlus is good for its price, but when u change to a Z2 its an entirely different game. You would experience a whole new level of Camera experience in Z2(With all the add-ons as well) and also battery backup is better on Z2. Performance is similar coz of the same CPU and same amount of RAM. One more advantage is Z2 is Water-resistant(IP58).. U can take it to swim, shower, etc and have lots of fun.. Also Z2 is built tough unlike Z3 or OnePlus.. U need not worry about your Z2 falling down from your hands.. U should just know how to use the device when u get it.. Use Google and Youtube and xda as well and do a lot of reading so you'll understand the device better..

Well the guy was kind enough to handle it to me for trial!
I'm using it and the software is nice, smoothly operating!
However, comparing to Oneplus One I can find the following drawbacks:
-Slow charging! WHY THE HELL ON EARTH DID SONY NOT ADOPT 2amps CHARGERS!!!
-Low volume! Especially during speaker on calls! Closed the windows and turned off the radio while driving and still barely heard my wife!

- Charging is NORMAL in z2 provided its 3200mah and it takes 2hrs n 15 mins approx for me in here from 0-100.
- Low volume on speakers are only on 167 fw which got lower compared to 4.4.2 and i am sure that it will be fixed in next update which will be Lollipop. About calls, enable Speaker Voice Enhancement and it will be more than enough to burst your ears..

135 Minutes? with the Original EP880 charger and no fast charge activated?
That might be true from 0-80% but i've never managed to reach 100% under 180 minutes.

I used a stopwatch on my other phone to check the time.. Approx 2.40 hrs it was.. Its been around same ever since. Voltages may vary from country to country, depending on the kind of wall socket too.. I see American wall sockets are different, in here in India, we use old fashioned wall sockets, so old fashioned chargers..
I had both and sold the one plus.
Actually I had 3 OPOs, the first one was perfect and I gave it to a friend of mine (because I had allready my Z2).
The second was dead on arrival and after a fight with the oneplus support I got refunded.
The third one had the yellow band issue and I sold it on ebay because the oneplus support blocked all my request.
The Oneplus is a gread phone IF it is in perfect condition, but the support is beyond everithing.
But lets compare the facts.
Batterie lifetime: I had about 6-7h of screen on time with the one and 8-9h with the Z2.
The stamina mode is very impressive and does it's job well.
Screen: If you have no yellow band, I would call it a draw. About the same brighness and point of view.
Bands: The OPO lacks of LTE band 20 so here in Germany two of the major three carriers are NOT supported.
Camera: Sony has an OIS, the OPO not. If your bootloader is locked and your DRM keys intact, pictures in dark scenes are better with the Z2. But only with working bionZ. Rooted they about the same.
Handling: One point for the OPO here. For it's size it fits realy well. The Z2 is just like a brick.
