Is there a Xperia Sola Chrging finished popup window for ICS 54th update? There was on GB tho.
I ve been waiting for 40minutes after 100% charged battery and nothing pops up...? Is it normal?
Yeah it's normal Under ICS you don't have a notification which says:
Hey Dude remove the charger from your phone and also from the plug socket if you wanna be a eco guy. And I hope you don't have atomic electricity in your house. Otherwise you'll die!
Haha just kidding

ok... well I would like to have that notification... but at least now I know It is suposed to be like that so it s cool.
I had some battery saving apps, for example easy battery saver wich shows after 100% charge there is continious charge and then trickle charge so it means that it s not like I need to unplug my cable soon after it shows 100%
Also my phone indicates green light on 90% of battery charge
shouldn t it light green on 100%? is that an issue?
and should I charge till trickle charge ends? or only till Fast charge?
Thanks

please try a full reflash that worked at my u20i atleast...
sometimes my phone is overheating on charger too. the fix that works for me is to simply unplug and plug cable again, than it's working fine...

But it would not be good for the battery as people say whenever u plug in the charger then dnt plug off till the battery is 100% charged.

I have encountered this problem too. I turned off live wallpaper and fency widget and everything worked fine. You could turn them on after full charged. I find live wallpaper really drained battery fast.
Thanks for the suggestion. I dnt use live wallpapers so it is not a problem. But for widgets You mean to say that before charging I should remove the widgets and then add them back after every charge. It would be hectic. Or there is a way to 'turn off' the widgets.

I wouldn't worry about that on Lipo or Li-ion batteries... in fact its good for the first 10 -15 charge cycles not to charge them to full (it makes the battery last longer.)
If it were an old Nimh or Nicad then yes.. best to make it flat and charge to 100% not the case with new batteries, feel free to top them up when ever you like and un plug them befor they get to 100% (only rule with Lipos and li-ions is not to run them completely flat.. they don't like that)

I don't see any suggestions for charging the Evo 3D for the first time. Anyone know whats best to do as far as not messing up my battery when I just got the phone?
You should be good with topping it off before u start using it if you want ur battery to be calibrated or whatever
^ yup... mine has been on the charger for about 30 minutes now... still havent powered it on yet.
Always wondered it that made a damned bit of difference in the long run.
Usually so anxious to dive into it I plug it in and dive.
I'm gonna condition it anyway that night.
Any thoughts?
Doesn't the battery already come fully charged?
They're usually about half charged...and the suggest you fully charge before using.
you can use it, but dont take it off charger until it is fully charged.
and no they dont come fully charged, the phones are partially charged.

as long as you do it at somepoint you should be fine...
Just most people never do it and wonder why they lose 15% so quickly
This is an old wives tale. Totally untrue.

so no difference?
i mean it would amaze me that if u just start using your phone, instead of fully recharging it once, would somehow ruin the battery for the rest if its life
dadoc how long did it take for yours to fully charge because i've had mine charging for an hour or more and no green light yet
fwiw, I've been charging it with the phone turned off for about an hour and 15 minutes and still no green light.
well no green light could be a GOOD thing
becuase the EVO used to give green light and it wasnt fully full
Took about 1.5 hours..... i used that BS charger that came with it so it took longer than expected

Mine has been charging now for about 2 hours and still red light. When I first plugged it in it was flashing red for about 5 minutes, so I'm assuming my battery was damn near dead. (have not turned it on and won't until it is fully charged)
I am charging it off my work computer's USB port since the cable won't reach an outlet from my desk so I know my charging will be slower than using an AC outlet

You might wanna charge it using ac power not the usb port....especially if the phone is turned off. If you need to sit it on the floor for it to reach or go look for a powerstrip or something. If its still red it likely not charging.

Lithium ion batteries don't need a precharge and also don't have a memory. Don't overcharge it or let it completely run out of charge. Charge whenever you want.

I left my phone charging during the night(it had been shut off) and when I started it, I noticed that it only charged to 70% and that it was really hot! Its the second time it does this after the gb update!
Thanks for the help!

did u install the custom rom or the generic one ???
try wipe battery status using xrecovery
hi, i am on stock 2.3 rom. it seems that i only have that issue when i charge with turned off phone. when i pull the charger and put it back in it charges normally till the led turns green
It does charge 100% but as soon as it reaches 100% it starts charging backwards(discharge) if you leave the charger on the phone

I think your cpu speed is draining your battery, I say that because of the heat you talked about and the speed of the drain. Try using wolfs 3.9 stable update and battery calibration app, free from market, to charge battery to 100%-4002mv.
Hope it helps. Worked for me.
i red some diffrent idea about battery and i got confused ! which one is better for battery health?
1-when battery is 30-40% connect to charger for full charge
2- when battery is about 1-10% connect to charget for full charge .
Just don't empty the battery ( 0% ).. idk if it's true, but a lot of people advised not to empty battery cause it's Li-ion..
I suggest you charge as soon as the phone notifies that it can be charged

Li-ion doesnt have memory effect so it isnt important when you charge it, imagine if jou have car dock you charge it every time you put the phone
in and the batery is still ok.
Every few months I empty the battery completely and charge it from zero and I do this because after flashing lots of firmwares etc the battery seems to give funny readings. This might not be correct procedure but it works for me.

I experienced that too.. I dont really know what to do with that but try charging yiur device turned off
I charged most of my device turned off or turn them off after use when charging..
It will charge faster like 2-3hrs and youll get a 100%

I charged mine while it was off over night from 10% and it was at 97% after 10 hours from wall plug, then the next day I charged it from notebook usb and it was still slow. But it seems to be charging faster each time. (and I still love this thing... Now if I can only get root without downgrading back to the original in the box firmware I will be happy)
Your question has been asked and answered many times. ( though you should say "charging too slow" )
Have a look here, for example : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428856
The charging time you are having is about right.
If you have root you could download an app called CPU adjuster which let's you create different profiles for example when screen is off, connected to wall charged or connected to USB charger you can set minimum and maximum CPU speed for the tablet during these situations, I've been using it for a few months now and it has helped prolong battery life a little and helps charge a little quicker.
