Share your build info, maybe help us upgrade to JB - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What's this ? - It is simple request for GT-P75xx owners to share their build info.
Why ? - Some SGT 10.1 can't run CWM Recovery higher than 5.5.0.4 or JB. We are at least 2 who have started thread about our issues. The links are at the end of this but in short, our tabs hang on a black screen when we flash CWM Recovery 6.x or any JB rom. While trying to find a solution (or at least what's causing this), something interesting came up, our build info seems different.
Partial build info from the 2 tabs that don't work.
Hardware: p3
Board: GT-P7500V on mine, GT-P7510 on the other one
Device: GT-P7500V on mine, GT-P7510 on Adam's
Partial build info from 2 tabs that DO work
Hardware: p3
Board: p3
Device: p4
So we're wondering now if this issue has anything to do with the Board and Device values but data from only 4 tabs is not enough to draw a conclusion.
I want to collect info on tabs that can or can't run CWM 6/JB and compare 5 fields from the build info to see if it's conclusive. If we find only one tab running CWM6/JB that has the model number in the Board and Device fields then we'll know it's not the problem.
This is why I need your help.
If you own a rooted GT-P75xx and wish to help, please use "Android System Info" from the Play Store or any other method you like to get your build info and post the following information.
Your running Android Version and ROM name
CWM Recovery version

To start the list, here's my info.
Android: HC 3.2 stock
Recovery: CWM 5.5.0.4
Bootloader : P7500XXLA1
Hardware : p3
Board : GT-P7500V
Device : GT-P7500V
Modele : GT-P7500V
Product : GT-P7500V

You know, those values are actually in build.prop. I believe mine is p4 because I'm running aosp ROM. For stock based ROMs I think it is P7500/P7510. Hence, yours is P7500V. You can flash cm9 right? Then flash it and check your build.prop.

I realize they're in build.prop but I am wondering if the values put there by Samsung are indicative of some different hardware that can't run newer recoveries and JB.

Android: JB 4.2.2
Recovery: TWRP 2.6.0.0 (I had CWM 6.0.3.0 before)
Bootloader: P7500XXLA1
Hardware: p3
Board: p3
Device: p4wifi
Model: GT-P7510
Product: GT-P7510

Here is my infos of my Videotron P7500V after i "Pimped" it to CM10.1
Work flawlessly... And its not a p3 or p4, its a P4TMO so use the Bootloader from the tmobile is version to get it booting past cwm 5.0.3.3 !
Ill post a tutorials as soon as i get on my computer so stay in touch !

Need firmware for My tablet

My tablet is from the chinese one. It is model T02A like the Eken`s one.
But i want the original firmware wich was crane-evb:4.0.3 IML74K 20120328 eng test-keys
But i cant find it in the net i found a similar one but my toch keys like home back don`t work cuz the firmware i use is made for physical keys. I hope you can provide me with this one i want. Thanks
Have you tried contacting the people you bought it from originally, I know it will be difficult to find the actual firmware on the web, although you have a clue that it was 20120328 that may not have been the actual version. The only way of finding the actual version would be to look in the /mnt/flash/ text file if it was updated correctly.
I contact with them and they send me the firmware for it.

Hi,

I can share it to you but I am on a hollyday till Wensday. When i got back home i will give it to you. It is a stock rom but it is rooted
I have same problem
When you share the link pls give me too
Hello, I need firmware for t02a . The ones on the website (T02) doesn't let me use the touch screen.
If anyone manages to find the T02A firmware, I need it too. My touchscreen also doesn't work (well, it does, but the axes are reversed) with the T02 firmware from Eken's website.
Here is my firmware. I am using it and i don`t have any problems
Part1 - http://www.mediafire.com/?wa3sjiqeeqyjve4
Part2 - http://www.mediafire.com/?xfb4kjmdd6d677x
Just download the two files. Unrar them with winrar. Install LiveSuite and flash your tablet EKEN T02A
If you have any problems after the flashing of this firmware just say here to discuss them and find a solution
And if you want use this tewal http://www.mediafire.com/?j0nb38frzefn6c6 for vold.fstab . There is a thread for it how to make it ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680771
Thanks for posting the firmware, but are you sure this is the correct image? It has the same CRC32 as the T02 firmware currently available from the eken.com/support webpage, and has the same touchscreen axis problem on my unit.
Do you know what firmware you tried that didn't work for your unit? Maybe that is the one I need...
(As an aside, I forgot that I may not actually have the Eken T02A, although that's what it identified itself as in the system menus. It is an iRulu 7" tablet purchased from ACCDEPOT, I was reminded yesterday. I assumed they were just reselling the Eken under a different name, but maybe not.)
I contacted the folks that I purchased the tablet from, and they were able to get me a firmware file that fixed my tablet. (At least, the touchscreen works again. Which was my biggest concern.)
Thanks again for your help!
I have tried all roms for just T02A model.. EKEN, MID and etc. And all works correctly for me. So don`t look the cover of the tablets. They may be the same but the parts may be from different model.
Our tablets are different. So my rom will have problems with your tablet..Atleast you have 256 RAM i have 512. This is one of the differences between our tablets. I am glad that you have found fix for your touch screen

Would you be kind to share the firmware?
The firmware image they sent me is titled:

I don't have enough posts to post the links I guess (heh, too much lurking), but PM me if you need it and I can send you the links that way.
What is the clock speed of your processor? Can you post me the kernel version, baseband version, the firmware version form the system/about tablet menu
I'm not 100% sure about the CPU speed. I've seen it referred to as 1.2GhZ but I suspect it might be 1GhZ. /proc/cpuinfo shows:

Is that build number from your most recent firmware flash provided by the seller? Also, do you notice the screen transitions (like opening settings, etc) to be extremely slow?
P.S. Does anyone know if there is a CM9 rom for this device?
Thank you!
The 20120423 build number is from the recovery flash I got from the seller.
I haven't noticed any slow screen transitions or program startups (although I would say that this tablet is not as snappy as my Motorola Xoom, but that could be differences in CPU, RAM, etc.). I tried opening the Settings and it came up in less than a second. I tried opening Netflix and it came up in about 4 seconds. While not steller performance, I consider that acceptable.

What is my device?

Hello all,
I bought an a-pad/e-pad which came in a Superpad 3 box. Upon research it is a very hard device to locate. I am looking to root it and install a custom rom to speed up and customize the device (as we all do).
I also understand there is not much development but surely there must be one person that can point me in the direction? There is 2 roms I found for a similar device the Flytouch but I am uncertain that the rom will work on the device.
The roms I have found is Tim6a and Axlien
About Device
Model Number: Android P1001R
Android version: V2.3 2011-12-07 (001112)
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #232
Build Number: FRF85B
I downloaded the "Device Info" app to see more of the details. This is what I got:
Hardware
Manufacturer: Unknown
Model: Mercury
Hardware: imapx200
Board: Unknown
Device: Mercury
Brand: Generic
CPU: ARMv6-Compatible processor rev 5 (v6l)
Software
Android Version 2.2 - Was advertised with 2.3 !!!
Bootloader: Unknown
Unfortunately this sounds like it is a clone. The apads that I know of are all ARMv7 compatible processors. That and the fact that the About device lists the version as V2.3 2011-12-07 which would be GB but yet it is truly 2.2 just changed to say 2.3 and probably skinned to look and act a little like GB.

Seeking Advice to root Allwinner A13

I'm looking for some advice about rooting my android device. I'd like su permission, so I can remove protected bloatware, use apps such as Root Explorer, etc.
The device is listed on Amazon as an Allwinner A13 (correct, I think) with Android 4.0. However, on my "tablet information" screen, the Android version is given as 4.1.1.
Here's all the info from the "about tablet" tab on the settings screen:
Model number: Q88.
Android version: 4.1.1
Baseband version: v0.4rc3
Kernel version: 3.0.8+ [email protected] #284
Build number: nuclear_evb-eng 4.1.1 JRO03C 20130531 test-keys
The device arrived with no clear documentation, and it's a bit hit-and-miss what you end up with, with these - my friend ordered the same item and ended up with a device with different apps installed, and his device was already rooted when he took it out of the box!
Is there a way to root without using a computer? (I don't have ready access to a PC right now.) I've tried Poot and a couple of other apps, but no luck so far.
Thanks in advance for any help; I'll be eternally grateful.

Ah, someone in the same boat. Have you found any more info on rooting these, since your post? They obviously can be rooted - as I said, I know someone with the same model, Q88, that already had full root access, straight out of the box.
Let me know if you find anything out; I'm still looking.
With the poot/ministro method, I'm just getting an error message about a "daemon has materialised". It hasn't harmed my device, but neither am I any closer to su permission.
[rant]We really shouldn't have to jump through any hoops to get control over our own devices. Imagine if you bought a PC, and you didn't have admin access to Windows. If you ask why, you're told: "well, you might delete your system files, and we can't trust you not to!"[/rant]

My tablet is a allwinner a13 too. And this process worked flawlessly. But you have to use a computer.

[Q] Spreadtrum One: Rooting, CWM and ROM-ing

Hi all
I've rooted and flashed my past few HTC devices without issue thanks to all the great info here, but have now stumbled onto a more challenging android handset!
My nephew has purchased a cheap HTC One M8 copycat from a market seller here in Taiwan, with the expected result being that he's somewhat disappointed with the end result! It's now fallen to me to see if I can do anything with it. Since it's a copycat I have absolutely no idea what it really is on the inside.
I ran VROOT on it as I heard that worked quite well with Spreadtrum devices which I gathered this to be. VROOT was successful in rooting it, but since then is unable to connect or recognise the device. In Windows Device Manager I can see the phone connected as a YunOs phone, but there is still an incomplete (yellow exclamation marked) Spreadtrum device that has yet to install correctly.
I've included below all of the information that I can get from the handset - if anyone thinks its possible to flash any kind of standard AOSP rom onto this device I'd be glad to hear any and all advice you can give!

That was what I feared. In that case I will use it as an excellent opportunity for experimentation and potentially irreversible damage!

To install a Custom ROM it's not required that phone's actual Android gets rooted beforehand, but a suitable Custom Recovery got flashed.

hey thank you for the response, fortunately do have adb and fastboot and i had at least accomplished a connection from phone to comp.., unfortunately i broke that phone and have moved on to a maxwest nitro 5p, which i am attempting to unlock the bootloader. apparently the bootloader has to be unlocked in order to ROOT and install twrp and so on.. any help on the nitro 5p would be greatly appreciated, also i had this post somewhere else when i made it and some senior member moved it here
i dont kno where to post things
Start a new thread titled "Maxwest Nitro 5P - How to root / unlock bootloader"
I am working on a very similar device from OP. Welcome splash, very similar results from inware, and CPU Info. Original owner bought it from Wish, advertised as S21+Ultra, the specs are spoofed under settings, ie. S21+Ultra, Android 10, 12GB RAM, etc
The closest I have found so far is Winstar SP7731e Kimfly Mito A67, but all the sites I have found so far for firmware are paywalled.
I was trying to find a way to backup the device without root, or custom recovery, before trying too much with it. Unfortunately, it seems as though there is a lack of information, or I have no idea where to look.
Any new info, or leads would be much appreciated.
