Beta 1 notes :
Root - It's disabled by default, it has to be or it's an instant fail on the CTS! (Compatibility Test Suite). Good news you can just turn it on. Either in the superuser app -> settings or in Developer options.
A few more settings have been moved around. It was decided that no "advanced" user settings should be under developer options. Some were moved previously but with the beta 1 release the following have also been changed
Ram bar is now under interface
Media scan on boot is under system advanced options
Advanced reboot menu is now called Secure reboot and is under security.
Reserved 2
Lock Screen 1st screen shot
How do I add apps to the lock screen? I have already enabled it in the settings I just can not add to it. Add items like cam, message, etc... Thank you.

Go into Dev options and change root access to adb+app and try it then. Still a bit of work to do around the new security settings Google imposed on us in 4.3

Issues with root access?
So... trying to change DPI settings, it tells me there is no root access. Okay. I go to Advanced > Superuser > Press menu to access settings and make it so ADB and Apps can both have superuser access. I go back to change DPI. No workie. Okay, maybe it needs a reboot? I reboot. Still no workie. Try to toggle the setting a few times and it still no workie. =(
Any ideas?

So, the installation failed for the updated binary. I tried to go into CWM but the app couldn't force boot into it. I'm in CWM now but I can't seem to find the file it's wanting to install...? Do you know where this file is stored and what it's called?
It seems that other superuser apps won't install the updated binary through CWM or through the regular installer. -_- Any idea why this might be?

What exactly are you trying to do? Set home to be which key?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
My home key is not working (default action) nor is the assigned key i setup (long press = menu)
when i press the home key, it lights up, vibrates.. but doesnt do the default action.
I did remove the default launcher in the ROM and i used Apex launcher.. so not sure if that has anything to do with it
i did not have this problem in Beta3.. i did re-flash, with wipe/reset.. and same issue

All working as expected here...... I just mapped home to default and long press for menu and both work.. Try it with a clean flash and no changes to see if it works then we can look into what causes the problem once you've made changes.

So far so good,
Cam+video working, which is a plus over some of the others
Data not reconnecting after reboot, but "Smanager" works to fix that
Looking forward to more options on theming and customization...
Texdroider dpi changer works to set at 480, and THAT is important to me
I flashed SuperSU using TWRP after first boot, then upgraded the binaries and NO ISSUES
Looking good so far guys

An even simpler option to always fix your data on reboot without the use of a third-party script manager is to add a script to your init.d folder.
1) Use your favorite root file browser to navigate to /etc/init.d
2) in that folder, create a blank text document and name it 00killrild or whatever you want so long as it starts with 00
3) edit the blank file to have these three lines only
#!/system/bin/sh
su
killall rild
4) set permissions to -rw-r--r--
5) once this is done, reboot. Now your phone will always reset the modem on boot and will do it slightly quicker than an app without the dependencies that brings along with it.
All of this is assuming that init.d tweaks are supported by your kernel (so far, the majority of these custom roms do support it).
Good luck!
Everything so far works well apart from a message that keeps popping up. "Call forwarding services has been canceled" anyone else having this problem?
EDIT
Data works for me without 3rd party apps or adding scripts.
Been running this since last night and like it. Runs very stable and apart from the typical data issues on reboots I haven't noticed any serious bugs.

This rom was compiled by me, Scott.Hart.bti has done the real work!
I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by myself. This is a build composed off of the CM builds and i have added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

getting desperate
so i wiped, flashed the rom then gapps (lp) and it booted but the setup wizard force closes.
it occurs to me i did not update my twrp before flashing. No biggie, ill just manually boot into my twrp right? but for some reason it will not. i am doing this. Hold power + volume down until LG screen , then release and repress. It keeps booting up into the rom and not my twrp. Please, can anyone help me get back to my custom recovery.
Sorry for posting here, i posted in the trouble/Help section but got no reply and i am phoneless.

i have done this countless times and it just keeps booting into the beanstalk boot screen.
Would me not updating my twrp before flashing the 5.0 rom be the reason for that method not working ?

You have to let go as soon as you see the LG screen and immediately press the button combo again. This should take you to the above mentioned reset area.
Also as long as you were on Twrp 2.8.0.0 we first got you should have been fine.

TWRP 2.8.3.0
I tried the 0221 build and had the wake issues. I'm gonna try the 0342 build and see if that does it! I've been experimenting building kernals for the S3 and XT912 to learn! I'm gonna start working on the I717 tonight and see if I can help everyone out! And thanks again for all of the hard work gimmeitorilltell!

Yeah, the 342 seems to work, but also has wake issues after a while. And looking forward to testing your Kernals :good:
Will try NOW and use it from tomorrow daily driver to test from MIUI!
[ Updated! ]
1. Updated to TWRP 2.8.1.0 recovery.
2. Not sure for i717 => 'UCMC1 radio"
3. Tried Both builds
Slim-quincyatt-5.0.2.alpha.0.91-UNOFFICIAL-20150202-0342.zip
Slim-quincyatt-5.0.2.alpha.0.91-UNOFFICIAL-20150202-0221.zip
=> Keep rebooting as soon as it boots to home screen after you click "power" button to turn off and try to wake up back.
Still it was enough excitement feeling to see the LP home screen on i717!
Hope we could see working build soon.
P.S. Can any developer could also change PIT(partition modification original 2GB limit) specially for new build?

5. Wipe Cache/Dalvik
6.Reboot device
7.boot back into recovery
8.Wipe Cache/Dalvik
9. Flash gapps

Wow! It is really working LP except except internal & external sd cards which is important.
=> Can't use camera and video camera at all since it can't save to internal SD.
When you open camera app, you will receive this errir "Camera app says "Insert an SD card before using the camera"".

[ROM][6.0.1][Beanstalk][UNOFFICIAL][Great Experience][DU-Features]
Please feel free to share issues, questions and offer help
Please keep discussion focused, on the topic described in the OP
2. Post Frequently asked questions
FAQ
Q1: Is this ROM rooted?Yes, CyanogenMod is rooted by stock, but you must enable root in developer options.Q2: Does this ROM support Boeffla?Yes, but you will not get any support in development thread, if you installed it. Ask here.Q3: Do I need to do a clean flash, if I update the ROM?
No, only wipe cache and dalvik-cache.Q4: Is Doze enabled?Yes, it is.
Settings
First of all: This ROM works great and it feels my SIII got a new life
But I also have 2 questions:
How can I find SU in Settings? It's not in the developer options.
It seems to me the Omniswitch settings are hidden in Display settings. How can I get an easier access to Omniswitsch settings?

Beanstalk don't have Supersu. Beanstalk is using CyanogenMod's root.

THX for your reply. Of course I realized Beanstalk don't have SuperSU. I thougt there is a way to edit the CM's Root Access. My Point is: How to grant Root Access for an application when I denied it first?

I tried and it doesn't work. I know where to find Omniswitch in Settings. I only thougth there is way to put an Omniswitch Icon on start screen. If not I still love that ROM:good:
need green settings icon
pls get back to green icon on settings framwork updated black soo ugly
I'm trying to remember: you can switch off dashboard colors in settings - makes this green return?
I could help myself using "QuickShortCutMaker" to create an icon for OmniSwitch on StartScreen. But I still don't know how to edit the built in Superuser (not SuperSU). "Superuser fully embedded into the build and accessed from settings menu" announced as a feature of Beanstalk. Is it a bug or did I something wrong?
F2FS
Is F2FS file system supported on this ROM?
According to the article http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...rial-migrate-filesystem-to-f2fs-ext4-t3004755, kernel needs to support F2FS
Question from article: "Important: contact the ROM maintainer if you are not sure about which partition you can format into f2fs"
Which partition I can format into F2FS?
Hello and thank you for using Q&A @SEMA_Nikita,
you can format data and cache to F2FS.
Kind regards
Trafalgar Square
Hi, like other users wrote in the main thread of the rom, I have the exactly same problem of them, notifications don't exist, quick settings don't work, and also lockscreen. Did a full wipe (data, system, cache and dalvik), flashed 6.17 and latest open gapps with aroma installer, but the problems are still there. Why?
Help!!!! I want this rom so bad
I rooted my galaxy S3 i9300 once then I installed temasek 5.1.1 custom rom. That rom somehow unrooted my phone and I know that I need to root my phone back in order to get this rom. I've tried Kingo Root (which i used before) and it always stop at 70% and then my phone restart automatically and it says "root fail". I've tried like seven times. I never tried Odin method because I'm afraid. Can somebody help me please???? Step by step would be really helping. Thank you. I really want this new rom.

Hi there, please follow OP instructions, it worked for me fine that way, make sure that you don't flash anything in the first boot up, and double check your vendor & bootloader
Yeah I am going to flash the stock MTC20L now just to see what's up, I've followed the steps to the letter and still looking at the boot screen with the circle. How long does it take for that to load the first time for you guys?

Ok well the phone loaded the stock image just fine, Just flashed the bootloader/radio/vendor then rom and kernel and rebooted. It's been 13 minutes so far so i'll just wait.
Update: Right after I hit enter it booted LOL. Ok so something happened to the system before and returning to stock fixed it somehow. Oh well thanks OP.
Thanks @AL_IRAQI for this. Something different is good every now and again.

Privacy mode not working, just a heads up. Set a PW for the phone, then went down to set a PW for privacy mode and it will let me set a PW for it but then when I return to the Privacy mode menu in security settings it will not allow me to enable it. I slide the button to enable it and it will ask me for the privacy mode PW, I enter it, but it will not activate. It just spits me right back to the menu to try to enable it again. Strange thing, if you go one screen back it will actually say it is enabled beneath "Privacy Mode" menu option. But if you click privacy mode to go into its respective settings, the slider will not be enabled and all options will be greyed out. Fresh wiped, reinstalled everything, and re set up the device and no change. Anyone else with this issue?
