I'm not really interested in CM so I'm not bothered. Also, thering's ROM was my main custom ROM on my previous phone (original Note) so his work is good enough for me.

lol no i will exchange this device for a note 2 + 45USD
but im waiting a bit
I think that this device for sure will get users more slowly than many others, since it is so specific.
So will need to be patient!
I am also going to get either this or Note 2 by the end of next week, so I m watching the development here ^^

How about you learning how to port roms yourself and then porting CM to 9200 and making it available here? If you cant, stop complaining around the forum about the lack of development, noone owes you anything. You buying Mega hoping for CM to be available for it is just childish.

Thats because there is a CM team and there is no device tree to start with ,, as said and if you focus on what I said share your THOUGHTS about the subject,, what do you feel about it I didnt say suggest thoughts on what should I do no body said they owed me anything ,, and by what I said why there is no dev here its becuase the device has been running for a while and started to feel that this isn't a good device
So please try understand what im trying to say before you open your mouth

Look, mate, first of all -stop being rude. Second - if you feel that it isn't a good device just sell it and get another one, noone cares, just don't come to this forum and spam it with your stupid complaints! Read a guide about the proper behaviour here, in the old days you would have gotten hammered if you posted something like this.

Hey ACE-users,
Some of you contacted me and requested if i would like to develope for the Galaxy ACE and help you to solve some problems. Because of this and because of the fact that a friend of someone out of our Team bought one I started developing.
Problem is that we have not really a device we can use for developeing (we can´t use our friends every time ^^) and especially things like ICS Porting or Kernel developing needs one (we must test the files for working first).
So now BlockBuster Team would like to know if the user community here is interested in donating a device to us for development.
I mostly developed for the Galaxy S before, but also for Galaxy SLC (http://www.xda-developers.com/android/ics-ported-to-galaxy-s-i9003/) Galaxy 3... Mostly I´m developing by myself (kernel, scripts, tweaks, custom roms) but I teach other people who want to learn developing, too (like 5pace) . Check out my Threads, my Tutorials and our Homepage. I´m currently waiting for Galaxy S 3 release, so i´ve now the time for your device.
So what do the users of this community think? Let us know your opinion in this thread. If you want we can create a Paypal account and you can start to donate.
Maybe there´s someone here who doesn´t need his Galaxy ACE any longer - if it´s working it would be the easiest way for us to become one if you send it to us.

@Mods: I wasn´t sure if i should post this in Developement section. Finally i posted it here cause it´s a request - something like a quuestion If you think it´sin the wrong one feel free to move it

prasad12ka4, I think first we can post a request in Cyanogen's forum to see whether they consider our device. Many devices (e.g. HTC desire S) do not have such a good hardware as our Venue, but they still were supported.
I've post this request, please register a CyanogenMod forum account and vote for it here: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/55842-cm9-for-dell-venue/

They have stopped CM9 dev for all devices thats what I heard last from them.
They are concentrating on CM10.
As for your question, like everywhere else our good old Venue is invisible for the world no one seems to get it.

It's mainly that, we dont have any devs that are willing/able to work on the V long-term.
If you want CM support, donate a dozen or so V's to the CM teams and hope someone is willing to play with it. Otherwise you cant realistically port to a device you dont have access to.
Only reason the S5/S7/S10 have CM9 ports are because someone went though the trouble of porting the kernel for each respective device.

Other thing I think we could think about is porting CM9/10/7 to Venue ourselves (modifying the CM's sourcecode), and then submit changes to CM code repos. We will need approval, and have to maintain this device's code base thereafter. However if changes are OK then it can be considered an official support. I once heard "be the change you want to see in this world", this might be the best thing that can describe Venue's situation so far.
The problem is, exactly like what Manii has said, there are too few developers who is willing to work with this device for long term. There are very few devices on Amazon left also, as I checked!

Yes you are right but I think you first need an unofficial working rom first before you submit ur work to the official cm site. And they take years before accepting as official..for galaxy mini after tj style submit his work to cm team they accept it officially nearly after one years and more.
My point is that official or not I dont know but its true we have very less dev willing to work with this device so we need some joined contribution towards develppment from our side.

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a good custom rom for my girl GT-5839i.-
Looking for ICS ou JB, preferably CM rom.
Can someone help me with some lights.
I'm quite experiente with Huawei phones but I'm finding a bit complicated dealing with this Samsung especially because of the fórum organization and afraid to mess the phone due to compatibility issues.
Thanks in advance.
Actually, there is no ICS/JB rom for our ace-i, but you can try CyanogenMod 7.2 rom of biel, which you can find here..
And if you want to see all the rom, search in development section.
Thanks a lot.
It's a shame no real dev work being done for this phone
Actually, it's not easy, because we don't have gpu sources, however there is a CM9.1 rom, but very laggy.

How will you define real development work?
This has been said several times that instead of bashing and saying someone sucks, you should see how hard it is and mostly people aren't paid for doing this. You should be grateful to have this much, many devices don't even have this much development.

Hey guys,
Google just posted the updated preview of L to the Nexus 5 and 7 WiFi yesterday.
Now I know that it's not really the last build, but everyone on the internet are saying that it looks like the code is almost final.
So I wanted to ask - Are there developers here who's maybe working on a port for the LG G2?
I'd be really excited and happy to see a Lollipop port to our device, and if someone could do that, well...
Thanks.
Patience...
The SDK was released late yesterday. Our fantastic devs will port Android L to us sometime. Just have patience and wait.

But say what you don't say, our developers are the best!

Because there's at least until December for CyanogenMod's team to release CM12, and no one wants to wait that long.

Port it yourself, then.
It takes time for a port to get stable - it's not about getting Android L first. And devs won't release a half baked build, because some people will start complaining and crying.
So if you're really in a hurry, start porting yourself.

And I'm not complaining or something, so don't get me wrong. I just wanted to see if some developers are working on it. I respect them and I know that it takes time.
Just wait a bit for the Lollisauce, and you'll get it pretty fast
the new lollipop preview is very close to final build.there is no major bug.so any developer please give porting a try.please.whole g2 community will be very thankful to you guys @fabioio @savoca @Cloudyfa @OptimusRs @bender_007 @dr87
and a request to those, who are going to say me to port it yourself, that i dont have any knowledge in porting
Guys you also have to know that porting like that is dangerous in somethings, it is harder since its an higher android version and its probably unstable also with alot of bugs. So I suggest just to wait until android L source is out , Cyanogenmod12.

I would advise against it.there is no lg reference device (like last year), and you would be working off an sdk with no device specific bits. I don't think a functional port would be worth the effort involved.just wait and you'll have something before the end of the year (probably sooner).

There are a lot of ROMs for older devices which has no official support on the specific version. And from what I know Cyanogenmod are releasing new versions for devices even before any references appear, without any support.

Devs are working hard to build it, but there seems to be issues building it from source and flashing it. Some Quincyatt users tried to flash it when a dev build it, but failed to flash. Be patient . You might have to wait until February or earlier, because other devs that make roms for other phones are already building Lollipop 5.0.2, which is major fixes,

There is no proof. The original Note is a very aged device now, but very reliable. As reliable as the talent of the developers that exist on XDA. You only have a few choices.
Trust and be patient
Develop yourself
Buy another device.
Don't be so quick to throw the first option away. Sorry, I haven't looked at your stats, but I have been here a while with several devices. One thing I have learned, this device won't die.
Good things come to those who wait. They said the Note wouldn't get JB. They said it wouldn't run KK.

I'll settle for a slower device as long as I have the flexibility to customize it. I have a hard time understanding why OEMs force consumers into using their ROMs.
P.S. - It's Motorola

That's all fine and dandy, I just wish these mystery developers, could at least Identify themselves and make a note (no pun intended) that they do in fact have intention on porting 5.0 to the note, and are in fact at some stage of development (no eta required). I prefer to have this than to having someone, who isn't claiming to be one of these "undercover developers", tell me "yeah someone is probably working on it, and it's probably going to be out in February." for all I know you may be getting your information from talking to a horses butt hole (no flame intended). Even a link to an non-credible noob from some backwater internet forum saying he's in the beginning development stages would be better than "yeah someone is probably working on it, and it's probably going to be out in February."

I'd encourage you to check out the "AT&T Galaxy Note I717 Android Development" and take note of some of the users who have contributed in the past. Those individuals would most likely be building for our device.
Well, I am sorry that I am not your developer in shining armor. Its people like you and your lack of patience which keep developers lurking in the shadows.
No flame intended.
Why don't you try yourself then?

Lol to tell you the truth, I didn't care who or when 5.0 was coming out, I wouldn't have cared up until someone deliberately said:
Devs are working hard to build it, but there seems to be issues building it from source and flashing it. Some Quincyatt users tried to flash it when a dev build it, but failed to flash. Be patient . You might have to wait until February or earlier, because other devs that make roms for other phones are already building Lollipop 5.0.2, which is major fixes,

Which was fine with me, but he DID make it seem like he knew of something going on behind the scenes, so the "proof" I wanted in this case would be a link to some sort of bug report thread or actual development thread. (I wish you could quote me on badgering anyone for a release date LOL) and I voiced this into a reply to the so condescendingly put:
And the Jedi Knight said,
Better late than never. Patience young one

The proof I wanted was in no way shape or form a request for an ETA, but then you had to go ahead and post this

Like we are an angry mob begging you (someone who is not developing for the note, or knows nothing of the matter) for the release date like our lives depend on it.
Ps. I would hardly call what KitKat does on the Note, "running".

Lulz. I've had a great experience with select KK ROMs, particularly Unofficial AOKP and SlimKat. Maybe you just need to know what you're doing. Just passing by to say that and off with you now.
P.S. Thanks devs

Really? I've been running Kit Kat on both of my notes since release! At release there was some bugs, but I'd say sounds like you haven't tried too many distros of it lol! Any newer CM11 runs pretty damn good. And Liquid runs well! I personally found BrokenOS to be practically flawless and I'm running the newest release of Spirit ROM right now and damn its killer! So I'd love to know how you can say Kit Kat is hardly running? LMAO!
