I tried updating Cyanogenmod but needed the new gapps, but unfortunately I installed the wrong one. Now I have no way to access my phone as I can only see "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped". On top of that, whenever I try to boot into recovery to install the correct gapps, I am greeted by a blank screen. I have tried reinstalling the recovery with Odin and I am getting the same thing. Any help?

I tried to recover a rom today using nandroid and I got some error after the md5 check saying something like error unable to load recovery. (I am currently in recovery console). I then proceded to reboot the phone and now it just shows the Vibrant logo and doesn't do anything I can not reboot into recovery or anything. Is my phone bricked? If not how do I fix this?

Tell me how that goes for yah.
Thanks that seem to work, now all I have to do is reload a different rom and I should be good to go correct? Or do I have to reflash clockwork recovery or anything else?
Thanks

ODIN will not remove the update.zip so you can add a ROM and then go into clockwork then flash and your good to go. Try out Toxic or the new D9, there awesome.

Yes, you will have to re-flash recovery. If you have the update.zip on your SD card already (like ransz28 mentioned above) then just boot into stock recovery and (using the volumes to navigate and the power button to select) click on 'Reinstall Packages'. It will cycle a bit and you will see that yellow text again then it will return to the stock recovery. Select Reinstall packages again. You are now in CWR. Now you can flash your new ROM
If you get lost, don't have an update.zip, or want a step by step guide on flashing a new rom there's a guide for that to... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028 Just start at "GREAT, I AM ON JFD NOW - HOW DO I ROOT?"
My phone crashed while installing an app from play store. It required a battery pull, after which it kept getting stuck on the kernel boot logo (I was on a near-latest JellyBam rom with Siyah kernel). So I booted to CWM. Tried a restore. It failed. Tried wiping data, ok, then it crashed on wiping cache partition. Now it won't boot into CWM anymore. It still has download mode.
Meanwhile my wife is pregnant and as you can imagine this is not the best time to end up without a phone!
Suggestions?

Downloaded the new Clockworkmod Recovery from ROM Manager only to find that I could not back up to the external SD Card. So I tried reverting back to an older version (v5.8.4.0) and try backing up again to the SD card.
My phone booted into what appears to be a broken version of CWM where none of the volume and power buttons work correctly. Pressing the volume down only makes the screen scroll down. I can't select anything at all. I can boot into download mode but Odin doesn't recognise my phone. Should I download Samsung drivers and try to flash a stock ROM?
This is really stressing me out as I'm afraid I might have screwed my phone up! Any help is greatly welcome.
[SOLUTION]: Flashed a stock ROM and gave myself a stern talking to.
Just flash a stock ROM, sure

I noticed
Also Recovery version 6.0.2.7 refuses to mount external SD card. Any suggestions for an alternative to ROM manager? Or should I just uninstall it from my current ROM?

Have you flashed back to a stock Rom?
Yeah I have.
Then I suggest rooting with auto root and flashing philz recovery after and if it still won't see the card then you might need to format it.....and personally I always do that in the phone.
Hopefully a clean install, with fresh root and recovery will get it going again, fingers crossed

What do you use Rom manager for anyway?

I don't really use it. It just happened to come with the root file I used.
I'm going to tl;dr this but, I unlocked my bootloader, installed 4EXT, forgot to root my phone and tried flashing a rom.
It didn't work, it was stuck on the boot screen.
I thought clicking the factory reset button would flash the stock rom and make it as if it was new but nope, it stopped internal storage from mounting so now I can't flash anything and I'm stuck with a rom that won't actually get past the boot screen. Before you ask, yes I am a noob. Please help?

After using kingroot to root from lollipop, I couldn't have a successful flash of the clockworkmod recovery. Now everytime I boot up the phone it goes to the screen with the android guy and says "could not do normal boot." I want to do a full factory reset but I can't get into any recovery. Does the ODIN method for a factory reset work?
Update:
Really messed up now. Got frustrated and tried to do a kernel recoverey using rashr. Used the OC1 kernel boot file to do it. Now my phone says startup failed and has "secure fail: kernel" in red in the top left hand corner. How can I fix this?
yo, you can't flash recoveries on this phone. only with the mdk bootloader which you obviously don't have
---------- Post added at 06:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:00 PM ----------
odin will work with lollipop but you need a factory reset OC1 tar. someone has one somewhere
Not an expert here but, you'll want to search for a OC1.tar file to flash with Odin.

I just tried doing that. ODIN says it failed and the last step is "FAIL! (AUTH)."
Every time I turn on my device it just comes up with the ODIN screen and says that the update didn't install properly.
Is there anything I can do? I really don't want to have to get a new phone.
