After using kingroot to root from lollipop, I couldn't have a successful flash of the clockworkmod recovery. Now everytime I boot up the phone it goes to the screen with the android guy and says "could not do normal boot." I want to do a full factory reset but I can't get into any recovery. Does the ODIN method for a factory reset work?
Update:
Really messed up now. Got frustrated and tried to do a kernel recoverey using rashr. Used the OC1 kernel boot file to do it. Now my phone says startup failed and has "secure fail: kernel" in red in the top left hand corner. How can I fix this?
yo, you can't flash recoveries on this phone. only with the mdk bootloader which you obviously don't have

odin will work with lollipop but you need a factory reset OC1 tar. someone has one somewhere
Not an expert here but, you'll want to search for a OC1.tar file to flash with Odin.

I just tried doing that. ODIN says it failed and the last step is "FAIL! (AUTH)."
Every time I turn on my device it just comes up with the ODIN screen and says that the update didn't install properly.
Is there anything I can do? I really don't want to have to get a new phone.

tried to do the [GUIDE] Simple method to return AT&T Galaxy Note to full stock and it literally messed up my phone. Everything is crashing left and right. I need to hurry and fix this to bring my phone in to get replaced since my sim card slot is now dead. I did all the steps except entering ADB command because it doesnt list how or where exactly. It was crashing way before this. I had team perfection ICS rom on this before which worked great. I got desperate trying to return to stock via kies right now but still says CUSTOM Binary DL: YES(2counts).
I need a better way to fix my phone and return to stock because the other method didnt work for me and i did it twice step by step. I have done a few roots and custom roms before and never had a issue.

tried that guide, it f'd up my phone, everything crashed even when going step by step. I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1731654&highlight=revert+back+to+gb to get to stock. so im running the latest ICS via kies.
Lol. Figured op flashed cwm back so he could reset counter. So seems you didn't do that. Now you have to start over. Flash cwm via Odin. Flash counter reset. Flash stock recovery. That's one option. Probably the quickest.

What files do you have? You need Odin, cwm tar, counter reset zip, and stock recovery zip.

odin 1.85

OK. So put your phone in download mode and open Odin. Hook up to PC and and flash cwm tar in pda slot of Odin. Make sure to click reboot phone if not already done. Once you pass and your phone reboots, you're done with Odin. Put the counter reset zip on your SD card if you didnt already. I'm gonna post a link for the stock recovery in a cwm flashable zip for you in a bit. Put that on your SD card as well. Reboot into recovery. Click install zip from SD. Flash counter reset. After that's done, go back to main screen and install zip again. Flash stock recovery. Reboot and you should be good to go. Check by booting into download mode. Counter should say zero. Reboot into recovery. You should have the stock 3e recovery. Good to go.

phone swapped out for a new one at a ATT warranty cetner, no issues.
I'm going to tl;dr this but, I unlocked my bootloader, installed 4EXT, forgot to root my phone and tried flashing a rom.
It didn't work, it was stuck on the boot screen.
I thought clicking the factory reset button would flash the stock rom and make it as if it was new but nope, it stopped internal storage from mounting so now I can't flash anything and I'm stuck with a rom that won't actually get past the boot screen. Before you ask, yes I am a noob. Please help?

I tried updating Cyanogenmod but needed the new gapps, but unfortunately I installed the wrong one. Now I have no way to access my phone as I can only see "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped". On top of that, whenever I try to boot into recovery to install the correct gapps, I am greeted by a blank screen. I have tried reinstalling the recovery with Odin and I am getting the same thing. Any help?
Full wipe or flash stock fw via Odin
Use Odin if you can boot to OS and reflash recovery of choice.

I'm trying to root my Sprint Note 3 using ODIN. Everything within ODIN works fine. I get the 'pass' notification. At first I tried booting into Clockwork Mod Recovery, but the screen just said 'no command' with the normal options to 'reboot system now', 'apply update from USB' and so on.
So then I tried TWRP and it's the same thing. I checked and I'm not rooted. I don't get it. I have all the proper drivers. Everything is just as it is in the video I'm following to do it. Can anyone help?

You probably need to move this to the Q&A section before the mods do.
Rooting and custom recovery are two different things. Rooting will not get you a custom recovery installed: like twrp or cwm. Please mention the steps and source of your root flash.

Once you let Odin do its thing, the next step is to install a custom recovery. The easiest way that I have found to do this is to install goomanager from the market, hit the settings button then tap on install open recovery script. You should be good to go from that point.
Thanks to everybody for their replies. I actually just used the Kingo method and I'm rooted now. Thanks again.
So after trying to completely wipe my GS3 and put it back to Stock before selling it, I think ive somehow managed to delete my current ROM and now cant boot.
It can enter recovery mode (CWM) and enter download mode and flash other recoveries throw Odin But I cant load a ROM back on.
I can't access the SD card and can't mount: /System, /preload, /external_sd, /sdcard
I tried sideloading throw ADB but it cant detect the device and Kies did recognize it when I tried a "firmware upgrade and initialization" but refused to work because of its 'current version' (or something like that)
Are there any recoveries that could help? can you flash a ROM directly throw Odin? (i cant seem to find any that work), how do I fix the storage mounting / folder tree?
i9305, CWM recovery v6.0.2.9 and was running CM 11, dont have any usable backups.
Thanks:good:
Go to sammobile and download the stock rom to your phone. If you want to put your phone totaly stock flash the stock recovery too

Why? Odin files overwrite it so whatever you flash before flashing stock rom with odin gets wiped...Also I mentioned it so that the op would not get confused not to have a go at you .
Ok dude
