[Q] no os installed after "root" - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

So here goes.
i followed all the instructions in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2268963) , no problem at all. i've rooted other phones so i sorta know the drill.
1.) unlock token - no problem done
2.) i installed the twrp recovery and got it working
3.) i downloaded the .zip of the super user, plugged phone into pc, created a folder called SU on my phone, flashed into recovery, installed the su file.
4.) im a tmob user so i went to install the kernals, i went to (http://faux.androidro.ms/m7/jb43/) but was unsure if i needed both of them or one, i downloaded ( m7-faux123-GE-005u.zip ) , installed that on a folder on my phone, rebooted into recovery, wiped and then flashed that.
however now the phone locks up on my splash screen (green htc letteers white back ground).
also of note:
while in recovery when i reboot system it says " No OS installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?"
if i select yes then it says
"Your device does not appear to be rooted. Install SuperSU now? This will root your device."
regardless of whatever i hit weather to install or not install it goes to the HTC splash screen (htc in green, white background) and freezes, at bottom in red it says
"this build is for dev purposes only yadda yadda yadda"
it never advances from this screen.
i cant get my pc to recognize my phone while in recovery to copy over cyanogen 10.1 and gapps so that i can flash those. i am stuck.
anyone got any suggestions?

please delete this thread, accidentally got posted twice.

[Q] HTC Flyer will not boot up

Hiya everyone
okay, so i had my flyer on honeycomb, no problem booted up fine.
Then i unlocked the boot loader and rooted it.... once again had no problems booting up and operating.
So then i decideed to put dexters jellybean cfw on my flyer.
I downloaded the ROM and put it on my sd-card, went into recovery with rom manager, did a factory reset, cleared the cache and then went ahead and installed the rom from sc card.
It guided me through the installation, installed and it said it was complete; i went ahead and rebooted.....the htc logo appeared for a few seconds like it normally does (doesn't say quietly brilliant) and then the screen goes black although the back-light is on (no boot animation, like it said on dexters forum) but it doesnt do anything else.... it stays on the black screen, i left if for 2 hours and still nothing; stayed on the black, backlit screen???
so i re-installed it wiping all data etc etc.
and still nothing.
So i would like to put it back to honeycomb (baring in mind i cant actually get onto the device)
can anyone tell me how to do so?
any help would be appreciated
Cheers
Bradley
Since you are bootloader unlocked with S-On, you need to flash the boot.img (kernel) separately in fastboot.
- With the ROM zip file on your PC, open the zip (with WinZip or similar). You will see a file in the parent directory named "boot.img" (no quotes). Extract this file.
- Put the boot.img file into the same folder as fastboot.exe (which you should already have if you unlocked the bootloader).
- Connect the Flyer to your PC using USB. Reboot Flyer into bootloader, than select "fastboot" on the Flyer.
- Open cmd prompt on your PC, change directory to where fastboot.exe is.
- Enter the following command into command prompt:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
- Let the boot.img flash finish. Reboot the phone, and you should be good to go.
You'll have to do this when flashing any custom ROM.
Sorry for an extremely late reply, but thank you so much, it worked

You need to upgrade to the HC hboot first, using this procedure: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358758
GB custom ROMs = need GB hboot
HC, ICS, or JB custom ROMs = need HC hboot.

[Q] Recovery Stopped Working and Won't Boot!

So I just tried to install the latest version of Android to my HTC One, (Sense 5.5 Android 4.4) and I downloaded the ROM, then transferred it to my phone via USB and flashed it with Clockworkmod. The package partly installed but then I was shown "Error 7 Installation aborted", so I held the power and volume keys to boot into the screen with fastboot etc on it and tried to return to my recovery. It just flashed onto the screen for a second or so and then disappeared, followed by the HTC logo. I left this for 20mins+ before I tried again. Same thing. I really need help as I rely on my phone alot. Anything that would make my phone useable would help.
Thanks.

[Q] softbricked htc desire 601 zara

2 days ago my phone went from running perfectly to turning off and getting stuck in a boot loop, I'm assuming it had something to do with supersu updating because i noticed a popup about the binaries needing updating before the crash. I couldn't load recovery (would show team win logo then reboot) but i could load safe mode, i tried downgrading to lower versions of su ( i tried 2.13, 1.8 and 2.01) but that didn't work my phone would boot normally, i could access it for about a minute then it would reboot and do it all over again. i had originally followed this guide (URL at the bottom as i can't post links) so last night i attempted to just re do it all following the same guide. I got the recovery mode to boot and wiped the cache but i still had the same issue where i could access my phone for a minute before crashing. Now when i try to enter recovery it shows the htc logo and immediately reopens boot loader on the fast boot option. I rurally don't want to go out and buy a new phone so any help is appreciated. My current PC access is fairly limited but i can use one if i have to.
Also when i launched safe mode i noticed id get an error report after a few minutes, not sure if thats relevant but it never showed up when i booted normally.

It works for me.

[Q] HELP: Stuck at splash screen (Soft or Hard brick??)

This is going to be a little long, but I figured the more info the better. I recieved a TF201 from a friend of mine. He already had it rooted and running a custom ROM. It was loaded down with a bunch of stuff so I attempted a factory restore through CWM so I could start over and customize to my liking. Everything went fine (or so I thought) It booted back up to stock interface and still had root intact. I downloaded Astro FM from Play Store just to have a look around and make sure everything was intact. Everything seemed normal but suddenly rebooted and stuck at splash screen. Im able to boot into recovery still so first thing I tried was loading a backup as there were about 6 of them in the list of backups. None of them work, I just get "No files found" error. Next I tried to reload stock ROM with the Install zip from SD option. Also getting no files found error. somehow the SD card has nothing on it anymore even after copying a zip of the stock ROM downloaded from ASUS. The only other thing I can do that I know of is instead of loading recovery, is go into the cold boot menu with the 3 icons in the middle of the screen. By pressing nothing, it says that it is cold-booting Linux. This process just hangs and nothing happens. It does attempt to install MTP device drivers (which were already previously installed) but ends in an error (Failed). Selecting the middle option gives me "Starting Fastboot USB download protocol" but this also hangs and does nothing. Lastly the "Wipe Data" option completes it process and says "Wipe-Data done" but then also hangs and does nothing. At this point Im assuming its Hard Bricked and nothing can be done but I just wanted to see if anyone would be able to help. I have read a lot of similar posts on here but haven't been able to find anything that helps. Most other people with similar problems at least have a way to install from SD but my device wont recognize anything on the card. Does anyone know of anyway to fix this??

Need help to unbrick an HTC One M8 (ATT)

Real quick back story: Originally this device was being rooted to try to perform some data recovery after a factory reset. Everything went fine to unlock boot loader and root phone, TWRP was used as a recovery manager, but after installing SuperSU it wouldn't load from the booted device (error about binaries missing when clicking its icon). So a newer SuperSU zip was found and installed, and then the phone bricked on reboot. Just would freeze at the HTC logo with white background.
Fast forward to no longer needing the data recovery, just want to restore back to working condition. The boot loader was relocked and the latest RUU package from HTC was downloaded for AT&T build. Booting to the boot loader and setting it to fastboot USB, everything works fine running RUU (tells me current OS version and what it will flash to, etc) until it gets to the point where it says it needs to reboot to the bootloader on the RUU software (even though that is where I am initiating RUU flash from in the first place). The phone reboots to a black screen with HTC logo, and then the RUU software gets error 171 that it cannot communicate with the device. When RUU gets an error, there is no retry, only exit and start again. I read on another post someone said don't worry if this happens, just hit exit, run RUU again and it will pick up and continue to flash. However when you click exit on RUU, the phone reboots back to the white screen with HTC logo and hangs there.
Does anyone have any advice to get this device back to a stock android install? Thanks. If there is a better sub forum for this question, please let me know and I will post there.
