I have a problem with my X10 mini. Im trying to unlock its bootloader, but im stuck.
In the tutorial, it says that i have to turn my phone off. Im like, fine... But the phone turns on again by it self. Only happens when the USB is plugged in.
I cant continue installing CM7 until this problem is fixed.
I searched the forums, found one thread. But they were not on stock software and startet talking about coding..
Its updated to 2.1
4GB SD Card
No sim-card
-Oh, and it wont search for any updates btw.

2c. Boot your phone into flash mode (make sure you installed Gordon's Gate found in step 1a first). All users, press and hold back button while connecting cable from PC to phone. Continue holding back button until you get some output. The LED on your phone should flash green if it is in flash mode.

booting into flash mod is plugging your phone while pressing back button (and stay pressed !)
so you don't need that your phnoe stays off while on USB... since the main thing is that he needs to startup with USB
If him post didn't help you try turning off, taking off the battery for 5-10 seconds, then put again and try again unlocking your bootloader
Hello comrades,
I have xperia x10 mini pro. I rooted phone with Flashtool and installed CWM. I tried to boot it in flash mode (turned off phone, back button held and plugged in USB into the phone), but what I get is that my phone turned on always, like that I pressed Power button.
Earlier I couldn't boot it into the flash mode and I got that I charging battery, but after I installed CWM, phone always turns on.
Due to, I can't re-flash it because it always turns on. I tried with flashtool, PC companion, SEUS but all software need that I turn off phone and then hold back button and plug in usb and what I get is turned on phone. Please help me how to fix this problem.
I would like to re-flash it to stock 2.1.1.A.0.6 (2.1-update1).
Phone turns on even if I just plug in usb to phone (one end is in the PC and when I plug in other end into the phone, phone turns on). What is wrong guys?

Happened to me b4 if u want to repair with pc comp just remove the battery till u reach connection step then quickly connect battery and cable (nvm the cover) and hold back button when connecting if u do fast enough will work
sent from my u20i xperia x10 mini pro running mini cm9 3.0.2 on nAa ics 3
THX nAa. VERY MUCH!!!
Leave your phone plugged in and press POWER-HOME and BACK all together, as soon as the screen turns completelly black (backlight off too) releast POWER and HOME, and leave the back-button pressed, that will probably work too.

Can you explain me a little more detailed, i didn't get you very well. I am noob
How do you mean until I reach connection step, where should I reach connection step?
You take out the battery, then you go into PC Companion and follow the steps to repair your phone, until it asks to connect your phone in flash-mode.
Then do as he said (put the battery in etc.)

What do you think, what will happened if I wipe it using CWM? Can I brick it on that way?
If you mean formatting your phone, so you don't have a system on there anymore... that probably will give you a brick. Flashmode is a hardware feature, implemented to install firmware and enable reparations to your phone's software.
Deleting everything you can will not magically solve your problem, as far as i know.
It might help if you get mad at the phone and abuse the back-button by repeatedly pressing it when connecting the phone.

Does this mean that I have hardware problem. Phone works without any problem.
Somehow it doesn't detect you pressing the back-button, maybe there is some dust or dirt inbetween the contacts or something, since you flashed sucessfully before i don't think it's a serious hardware-problem.

I didn't flashed it before, I couldn't do that. I couldn't unlock bootloader, because I couldn't boot it in flash mode (phone just show that battery charging), after installing CWM now phone even don't show that battery is charging (it turns on when I plug in USB in the phone without holding any button). This is nightmare!
You are still on the original firmware then?
I mean, your phone still works?

Yes, I am on original firmware and phone still works, but I have problem to boot it in flash mode. When I plug in USB cable in the phone it turns on, like that I pressed POWER button. I don't press any button, but when I plug in usb cable 10-20 seconds and phone is on.
Yes, because your phone detects the usb-cable getting plugged in, even when it's off, it thinks you want to charge it, so (normally) it loads the kernel in order to start the charging-process, that is normal behaviour. I have been on a kernel that didn't support that feature, and it booted into the full rom before it started charging.
In short: the usb-port also functions as a power-button, sort off
Does the back-button work normally when you're on the firmware? (Like, open the app-drawer, pressing back-button should close it?)

Yes, the back button works perfect, closing apps (not close apps, but back to the phones "desktop"), back to previous pages in browser...
I am concerned because, before I installed CWM , when it was OFF and plugged in on USB, phone just showed black screen and when I clicked on some button I could see that battery is charging, that was all. Now, when I plug in USB it turns on like I pressed POWER button.
And off course never booted in flash mode because it turns on

What is app-drawer, I don't know what is that.
oh, that's the bit where you find all your installed apps, the grid you see when you press on the little triangle on the bottom of your desktop, or swipe up on the desktop.
I honestly don't know why your phone won't go into flash-mode though. Maybe try to take out your battery for about 10 minutes so your phone gets rid of all charge and static, and then try again.

I solved problem about POWER-ing on when I plug in USB. I installed new ROM "MiniCM7Pro_V21_Paul_XXX" via CWM because I didn't need to boot it in flash mode and now when I plug in USB I got that it charging battery and orange led diode.
But I can't boot it in flash mode even with new ROM, all the time orange led diode when I hold back button and plug in USB. I wiped out all date except something about "battery" from Advanced CWM options.

We need more information in order to help you.
What kind of modifications have you made to your NT?
Custom kernel, custom ROM, new bootloader?
What recovery do you have installed? Have you accidentally formatted or erased anything recently?
Not sure I have all the asnwers but I'm running cm7 alpha, no customization beyond repartitioning. No accidental erasure....it was working fine, I walked away for an hour, came back, and there it was...
when it's connected to my pc it makes the sound as if it's trying be recognized every time the N comes up...repeats

I would try to see if you can boot from an SD card. Either a CWM bootable card or a CM7 card.
I had the same thing happen recently. If the problem is the same - mine was low on power and I didn't get it on the charger quick enough - take out the SD card and re-plug the tablet. For some reason this worked - I think because it was looking for something it couldn't find on the card. This allowed me to charge up normally.
Ironically the night before i ran it down to 0% power for the first time ever. Wold not allow me to power up until i charged it next morning. I will try powering up without card, as powering up with cwm bootable did not work.

Just making sure here, but did you try booting from your CWM SD while plugged into a power source?
A full night charge got it back up and running. But as a follow up - I took out my card with CWM on it, and when i powered it up without it , it still booted up into CWM. So I assume I have it installed internally (must have done that before and forgot about it). Put card back in, did a reboot from CWM and it came up fine in CM7.
is some tweaking in order here?

Maybe reflash CWM to your recovery partition. It may have been a bad install the first time.
hello everybody,
i used to be active on the x10 forum.
but recently i switched to xperia P.
i unlocked the bootloader,
used fastboot to flash custom boot.img,
fastbooted custom kernel (FreeXperia),
installed cm10.zip with the CWM included in kernel,
everything works except wifi and bluetooth (which i guess is the rom's fault, so i dont really mind)
and then i installed apps from the cm10 file manager.
it detects my 16gb internal memory.
but my titanium backup and some other apps says it cannot access my internal memory, so it doesnt show any apps. (usb is disconnected)
so i thought mayybe some apps dont have access, so i thought i should mount my internal memory (although it already works for my cm10 file manager).
that was a very stupid decision because i used this code from this website which i got after i googled and used it on my terminal emulator.
guess what happened? my device got stuck/hang/frozen.
then when i pressed the power button, it was totally blank, no response and the screen went off.
i tried force shutdown by pressing and holding the volume-up & power button at the same time for a long time, that didnt work either, it had no effect, there was not even a vibration.
and when i charge it, there is no charging light.
it doesnt boot, it doesnt show me the kernel screen, or the CWM screen.
this is worse than a bootloop.
anyone who has previous experience with this?? or has a suggestion on how to repair?
any advice will be much appreciated :crying:

Hi.
1. Have you tried to charge it through the charger, instead of the usb por of PC?
2. If you tried, did you let it charge for at least 30 minutes? (Sometimes the battery drains so much that the phone needs time even to show it´s charging.)
If the battery charges, you should try flashing a Stock Rom through Flashtools.
If it doesn´t, then I can´t say you should do it but if I were in ur position, I would surely open my phone and try to charge this battery somehow. Google a lot to learn how it works, the wires, what is positive and negative and bla bla bla because your biggest problem NOW is not having power to work with the phone.
Hope you have good luck!
=)
Sorry please post your thread at Q&A

i have reason to believe it maybe related to the battery. maybe the battery is still running. how do i physically shut it down? the holding power button and volkume-up button trick doesnt work.

Use this guide to open the phone up and just disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Then try connecting in either fastboot/flash mode. The phone may need to be repartitioned and reflashed.
Same issue
Hi Davin-J
Did you finally solved this problem? I have the same now. And my battery should be good.
...............................
1/2 day later:
It was the battery. I managed to get it back to life as copper62472 told us. The strange thing was, that the Sony charger didn't charge the phone battery; may be because I bricked the phone before with system/data/cache wiped and formatted. I was not even able to restore it with SUS, because the phone was not detected at the USB.
Then I charged the battery outside the phone with a current limited power supply. After putting the charged battery back into the phone, restoring with SUS worked without a hitch.

Hello Guys,
I have been looking all over a solution to this issue but haven't been lucky at all. You might be able to help me. Here's the case:
The past weekend I shut my phone off to remove my SIM off of my phone in orther to test it in another Android Phone. Once I put it back into my phone and powered it on it took like 10 minutes to power on and then optimize apps. The thing is that it didn't recognize my SIM card anymore and It also couldn't be shut off without having to force the shut down. It would be looping 'shutting down' all the time and never shut off. It also can't be detected by my PC but it can be charged normally with a charger. The phone once is powered on works kind of normally, but I find personally sometimes sloppy.
I already have restored it to factory state via settings and nothing has changed. I can't restore via recovery since I cannot acces. I've tried all the possible combos to enter and haven't been lucky so far (power+volume down, power+volume up, power+both buttons pushed, power+clicking several times volume up or down, etc.).
My Z2 is running stock lollipop 5.1.1 - .264.
Any idea of what's happening?
Greetings,
Fernando

It used to have once a custom recovery but I flashed it back to stock a while ago via flashtool.
Can't do any fresh flash via flashtool since my computer wouldn't detect the phone by USB lol.
I feel kind of screwed...

I can confirm it can't be flashed via Flashmode. Phone won't start via flashmode (volume down then plug) step.
Is your phone rooted? If not try with kingroot method and then flashing a recovery and if it succeed then flash a new rom.
