Hey guys... Ive successfully rooted the phone and have latest CWM and have flashed countless of roms here in the dev section for the GS2.
Now recently when i plug the usb to the computer/phone the computer cannot recognize my phone but will recognize my girlfriends... ive checked/unchecked the usb debugging and tried installing all latest kies/mini drivers still no go... so i tried to flash the phone to recovery now CWM says that it is unable to mount my sd card... apparently there is an issue with my sd card (not external the internal one that comes with the phone)...
CWM pretty much won't let me do anything as it can't access the sd card folder of the phone i really could use some help figuring out how to "restore"? the internal sd card... is there any like original phone batch folders i can download so i can put the phone back into normal settings or any workaround for my issue?
Thanks so much guys..
try odin
i know you said pc want recognize phone but try and odin back to stock
look in rom section for a stock odin file dl it
get odin up and running first then take battery , sim , and sd card outta phone ..
plug phone in pc .... hold both up and down vol down and but battery back in at the same time ... now you are in dl mode ... now click start on odin and see if your phone picks up if so start here up ....
easy as 123
Did you flash the siyah Kernel recently? If yes check
out that tread.

If you cannot use this method, but still want to try flashing back to a stock ROM, you could use the new mobile odin app to flash directly from your phone. Especially if your comp will not recognize your phone.
Just a thought...

Hey guys,
I'm new here (and new to all this stuff too), so please, bear with me.
Okay, What I have:
1) Rooted Gingerbread 2.3.6
2) CWM Recovery installed.
I tried flashing (via CWM Recovery) Miracle V4 and GalaxyICS. They "worked".
By "worked" I mean, I can get to the setup wizard, set it up, play with my new ROM.. but the problem is.. they work ONLY when I have REMOVED my SIM card from my mobile. With the SIM card inside, my phone "crashes" (force restarts, again-n-again) after reaching the lock-screen!
So, I could use my mobile only after removing my SIM card.
I had to flash my stock ROM again using ODIN to be able to use my mobile.
So, can anyone please help me solve my issue? I probably am missing something here.
Thanks.
Yes to go to stock just go to samfirmware.com and download the right firmware and flash....
But if u wan't custom firmware to work just flash a new baseband (can be done in cmw or odin) ddkq8 works best and works almoust every where
Hope I help
edit: ^oh, the baseband might been the problem
I havent heard such thing before, and this might not help but have you ever installed cusom ROMs with the SIM card in the phone?
Sidenote: you shouldnt need to remove the SIM card when installing new ROMs
My friend had the exact same problem... He is from India sim card of dolphin I.e BSNL
He couldn't find a solution he even upgraded through Odin but no luck
In the end he changed his sim card to a different provider. And now is on cm7

Hi,
I am pretty new to rooting though i read a lot and watched a lot of videos before rooting my samsung galaxy note gt-7000
i was installing cm9.1 stable and followed the directions from the cyanogenmod page here [EDIT: outside links not allowed]
I downloaded the hardcore CWM and heimdall suite
Did everything till step 4 , followinf step 5 i started getting a missing .dll file error
re installing vc++ didnt help.
Then i installed the zImage file from the CWM with the help of odin
Everything worked and i flashed the new CM 9.1 and rebooted my phone
i put the cm 9.1.zip file on the sd card and flashed the rom.
the phone did not detect the 11GB internal SD card so i thought maybe i should try re flashing the rom
I went into recovery mode and ther is no CWM recovery mode on my android now , only the stock android download target screen appears
I say semi bricked because After rebooting it gives the" com. android .phone" is not working error
I tried re installing the Zimage file with odin and it installs easily but when i reboot into recovery mode CWM doesn't show up
Can't use my phone and can't re root!
Please Help!
ok i somehow got cwm working again and the com error is gone
but the problem of my internal storage not showing up is still there
now, its not even detecting the external sd card
So i have lost access to both the memories
Can't Anyone help??
ok after no help from anywhere i showed my phone at samsung service center
they surprisingly had no clue about rooting , but then i got a call from a rep telling me that the motherboard needs to be replaced for about 180$!!!

May be I'm a little late with this reply. But if you have not paid the $180 yet, Can try flashing the samsung stock rom from sammobile.com and try flashing it through odin using the download mode on the phone. If it still didn't work, also try flashing the correct PIT file along with the ROM from odin. See if either of this helps you in getting the internal memory working.

I read somewhere that 'motherboard not working' is the default reply of any oem service center you'd take a rooted phone too so i didn't pay them
Thank you so much for the info, i am downloading the stock firmware now, where can i get the matching Pit file withe stock firmware
Ill get back to you when i try the stock rom
Flashed the stock rom, the phone is working like a charm now

Hello,
To make a long story as short as possible. I used Adam Outlers Casual to flash my phone to beanstown's "jellybeans" rom. Everything was fine until I didnt like the volume not being able to go high. So using odin I checked the "nand erase all" like an idiot and flashed back to the stock unrooted rom using the pit file and the unrooted stock md5.
Now what happens:
Now the phone boots up but might be stuck in read only mode I am not sure and need help. Because when plugged into the computer it shows -104843489764 bytes for storage and won't let anything download to the phone. When I turned the cam on it says "not enough memory" and the worst part is it says "no sim card" and can't connect to the network for phone calls, texts or internet.
I can enter download mode. I can enter recovery mode. But all my attempts at using the repartition button while flashing again to stock rom did not work. I believe maybe I somehow have to format and repartition the internal storage? It won't let me flash clockworkmod using odin so I guess I have unrooted it. Im just mentioning all the things I have tried. Thank you very much for any help you can give.
Try refreshing the PIT file in Odin which should fix all of the partitions.
Also, a hard brick is only when your phone won't turn on, period. You have a soft brick which should be fixable.

Hello again,
This thread for the galaxy s3 shows how to unbrick the phone that is in read-only mode. I know mine is too just like it says but I cant find the files for my phone or any other information on how to get my verizon note 2 out of read only or make sure it is formatted correctly to reinstall the stock rom. Here is the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
"Sometimes when you flash a ROM (TouchWiz or AOSP), there is a risk of the /system and /data partitions not wiping correctly thus leading them to be formatted with R/O permissions rather than R/W. This makes it impossible for the phone to boot up because no data can be written."
What really concerns me also is when it's plugged in through USB and I click the drive for the internal storage it shows as having -1049874323 bytes of space instead of the usual 9gig free.
Email me with snapshot of the problem.... Nikhil.kdhand at gmail.com

Can i restore .tar using Odin?
If your 'original' rom was before MG4 then no, it won't work.
Instead go forward, either MG4 or later, with your stock rom choice -instead of tinkering with your efs.
To my knowledge odin can only install a .tar if that container has a .img file inside. This depends on how you backed the efs up.

Thanks but i dont want to stay rooted anymore as i need to sell my S3 It seems there is no other way for me to use the stock firmware as my efs partition is now using the mg4 format. I just wonder if I try to install ROM from another region that has the latest mg4 format or is using the same format. Getting the official update would be a different issue i guess. :crying:

return to stock fully by resetting the flash counter to 0 and then flashing stock firmware of your region. give it to a service center and claim it as imei problem. warranty=yes(free service) no warranty>(you need to pay)

Well, here we go!
DL stock firmware and flash through odin. You will then have 'emergency numbers only' situation.
DL Philz recovery .tar from here and flash through odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002953
Have the XXEMG Radio on your sd card and flash it through Philz recovery. You have the option in Philz to install root, take it.
Download Triangle Away and use it to get rid of your flash counters.
DL Stock recovery from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2323847
Flash it though Odin.
That's it, you should be good to go and completely back to stock.
Don't forget to thank all the people who put this together.
Post back if everything goes well or if you have any problems.

DL from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43946365&postcount=15&nocache=1&z=5647802080493420
Transfer the zip file to the root of your internal storage or external sd card.
Turn off your phone then boot into Philz recovery.
Select install zip
Then either choose zip from sdcard or external sdcard depending where you have put the file.
Select xxemg4 zip and do the install.
When install has finished, back out and reboot system.
Do a couple of reboots just to bed things in.It will probably take a couple of hours for the radio to settle down..
Just an afterthought, when you have finalized everything, go into settings>app manager and uninstall Triangle Away. Then use My Files to navigate to internal storage or external sd card and remove any files relating to Triangle Away.

Sorry it took sometime for me to check and update again my S3(been busy these few days). Ok the good news is almost everything works.Imei and signal is back with stock rom.Now the bad news is,i cant get it back to normal status,it just says modified.I flashed back to stock and yes the status is normal but its back with the Imei problem.I guess theres really nothing i can do but let the phone stay rooted if i want it to work or maybe flash again a stock rom but from another region(atleast the phone would still get the official sammy update). Or probably wait for 4.3 official Rom. After this horrifying experience im just keeping my note 2 stock but rooted.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
That's good/bad news! At least you now know that you can get back up and running again if you hit problems. I would suggest that you now back up your EFS partition and keep it somewhere safe.
So your current status is, stock rom installed, stock recovery installed but the bootloader screen still shows modified, is that right?
Try running Triangle Away again, it may or may not work, and see what happens.
I'm running the JB 4.2.2 official leak with Philz recovery installed. Just to check, I ran Triangle Away again and got back to Official in bootloader. I then flashed the stock recovery through Odin, done a reboot and booted into BL it is still showing official with the flash counter at 0.
So to all intents and purposes, I am now completely on the official stock rom and should a 4.3 update come through I should be able to install it.
Anyway, if you install any roms in the future, you know that installing the xxemg4 radio will get your status back to normal.
Remember to back up your EFS partition.
Im still on philz recovery even after i reset the counter.Do i have to manually flash stock recovery through odin after reseting the counter. But i noticed the first time i reset it,it did show official on recovery but as soon it booted to samsung i checked thr status under about it said modified.Do you think if i flash the official recovery it could make a difference. And oh i did a backup of my efs(quite a few of them)but it wouldnt matter right?as the partition format for MG4 is now different. If only theres a way to put back the old partition. Thanks a lot for the help man i appreciate it
