Take this with a grain of salt. Just passing it along.

I don't believe that for a minute.
I hope this is true. So tempted to flash 4.2.2 Rom. I have so many important things on here and data. Hate that I have to unlock the bootloaddr and it deletes everything. I have mote than enough backups on my mac

I just flashed the international 4.2.2 ROM yesterday and I don't think I'll switch to the T-Mobile ROM once it's available anyway because of all the bloat.
Very happy with the international 4.2.2. It's exactly what you'd get with T-Mobile (except no wifi calling which was giving me problems anyway) with much less bloat and I think with the stock international recovery you can also install international OTAs easily.

Question: which one did you download . Arhd ? Where did you find a conpleteabd updated ,2.24 stock Rom. I can convert as I can't gain soff anymore

I don't have S-OFF either as I have the latest T-Mobile update, but this is working and the thread claims that OTA can be downloaded and flashed with the stock boot (which is included) and stock recovery (which is linked to in the thread) with the odexed version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752&highlight=stock
On the site it links to for downloads the download is mislabeled. You want the one that says Stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (the odexed one). It says 4.1.2 but it's really 4.2.2. Specifically quoted there it says: With odexed version you can download and flash OTA from HTC (you need stock boot.img and recovery.img as well)
It installs the boot.img with the flash automatically, and you'll also need to download the recovery.img and flash that with fastboot after it's all installed. (you flash the rom itself with TWRP)

I've seen that. Didn't know we could get ota with it. So after you installed it you got ota. To the updated 2.24? That would be cool.
Thanks again.

I didn't get OTA yet, although I think the only difference between 2.17 and 2.24 is lockscreen widgets, and there's no guarantee that t-mobile's 4.2.2 will be based on 2.24 anyway. This is the best available stock rom with no modifications, so that's why I've installed it.

Does the update option just say it's up to date? I thought you couldn't get updates unless you changed your cid or mid (don't know which)?

Im downgrading to 2.11.605.5 , I currently have 2.11.605.9. After doing this and using revolutionary I was not sure if I will still be on 2.11.605.5 after I root? If so, will I have to flash a rom that has 2.11.605.9 built in it? And if I stay stock rooted will I keep getting messages about an update from Verizon? I really want to stay stock rooted, but can flash a custom rom if there is one that is a stock / debloated type of Sense rom.
Anyone? Thanks.
You will get the update nag unless you install a rooted OTA update version of the stock ROM. I know those are available, quick search yields a couple versions, some fully stock, some with tweaking to remove bloat.
Take a look at what's available, choose and flash one after backing up your current setup.
The radios are a different story. Their performance varies by geography and device. Again, search and read up on them and flash to see what works for you.
Ymmv from that of others.

I'm currently running an unlocked, S-On rezound with HBoot 2.11 and I'm currently running ViperRez with Kernel 3.0.16.GD0048F1. I'm obviously using the GB firmware patch whenever possible but the GB Firmware patch doesn't work with AOSP roms, and i CAN install the AOSP roms without it, but it won't recognize the SD Card and i can't mount the internal one either.
So what's the best way to get to HBoot Firmware 2.27 so i can start installing newer JB roms?
You'll have to re lock the bootloader and run an RUU to update your firmware
This will bring you to the ics ota official

1) None of those download links work, and any that do point to a camera fix, not anything about the rom itself.
2) What about the mention of being fully stocked? I'm running a custom rom and the last time i tried

Here this one points to the global ics leak, the dl link works and it doesn't matter what rom you are on, it will be overwritten with the stock one. Once your firmware is updated you will need to unlock, flash a recovery, then flash a rom of your choice

I actually wished the links worked because I think the global leak is what's causing my cpu issues with aosp and kernel's with perflock off/mpdecision used

Actually through more rooting I found the right updates VERY DEEP in some other thread.
the post here it here in case anybody comes upon this thread and has the same question:
My wife's Evo kept failing the 3.17 OTA so I moonshined it this week to allow her to get on latest firmware and software. She is stock other than S-off and root. I am fully aware that the firmware/radio and software are two different things. After getting S-off I flashed the current 3.17 bootloader firmware from Captain's thread and all went well and she is now on 1.13.11.0830 radio. Now I want to get her the software updates to move her from 3.16.651.xx to 3.17.651.4. My question is how to best do this. My thought is to flash the stock rooted deodexed rom but I didn't know if there was an alternative better way. Also, considering that an OTA upgrade of software is a dirty flash sort of, can I dirty flash stock rooted 3.17 over her current 3.16 without doing full wipe. Yes, I realize full wipe would be best and I am willing to do that if dirty flash is a mess. But, for time saving, is there any real danger in dirty flashing stock rooted 3.17 over her current stock rom with s-off and root? It just seems to me to be the rooted equivalalent of taking the OTA update.
Thanks for any advice.

Your firmware is updated.
Software is based on the rom you are running if you flash a 3.17 rom you will be updated in that area also.
As for dirty flashing it's not a good idea to dirty flash when going to a new base
thanks bigdaddy, I appreciate the response. Is there any downside to being on older software and newer firmware? I thought Captain TB or someone had said that the firmware and software are optimized to work together and shouldn't be out of sync. If that is the case I probably need to bite the bullet and go ahead and wipe and flash the stock rooted deodexed rom to get her the software update.

I think it is kind of what bigdaddy was saying and what CTB has said...3.17 is the software update that brought the firmware update if done OTA. I believe what CTB did was extract the firmware so people could update the radio/firmware without installing the OTA or stock 3.17 ROM. So, you can have latest radio/firmware with CM10.2 for instance. In my case, my wife wants to keep stock as much as possible so I was trying to figure out best way to get her to most recent stock software without taking it OTA. I think the way to do that is going to be to flash 3.17 stock rooted rom. As you mentioned I haven't seen many/any roms built from 3.17 source if it has even been released at all yet. I moved to CM roms long ago and haven't used any Sense roms since meanbean 3.09 which last I checked hadn't been updated in months. There are plenty of CM10.2 based ROMs available that have tons of updates and fixes. I left my wife's stock because otherwise I get blamed every time Sprint or htc messes something up. This way I can say I didn't touch her phone. By s-off and rooting it and installing stock rooted deodexed I am opening myself back up to her wrath but so be it. It's better than her telling me 4 times a day that her phones says an update is ready but fails every time she tries to install it OTA. It's all about path of least pain. LOL.
I would flash the new rooted base. As I mentioned before, I'm on mean bean 3.09 with the updated firmware from the Captains thread and all has been working great.

Cool. Thanks for that info. I think I am going to do a twrp backup and a dirty flash of stock rooted first. I know that's not the best and most advisable route but dirty flashing is underrated. If things are wonky I will wipe and factory reset and flash again. Dirty flashing a new base on top of the old isn't THAT much different than getting the software update OTA. I trust dirty flashing more than I trust Sprint to be able to seamlessly deliver it. Probably do it tonight while she's asleep and see if she notices anything different tomorrow. I'll just blame Halloween spooks and goblins if things go wrong.
First to clarify, i have an "unbranded" (asian) HTC Amaze (which is also known as HTC RUBY).
I'm on stock ROM 2.3.4 and it is un-updatable officially.
So... I unlocked my bootloader, then i installed 4EXT recovery, then i S-OFFed my device (which somehow locked my recovery again), then i rooted it.
Now, when i flash a custom rom (Cyanogenmod JB 4.1.2 official), it gets stuck on the boot screen (the rotating cyanogenmod logo).
I have backed up my rom in the recovery, so i can restore it and get back to where i was.
Basically i want to know what I'm doing wrong or if I've missed an step.
I haven't Super-CID it yet, is it really necessary? And i also can't seem to update my hboot, but isn't 4ext supposed to do that for me?
You forgot to install the ICS firmware. You can't install an ICS ROM while on Gingerbread. You need to first upgrade to ICS, then you may start flashing ROMS.
This thread has it, and all of what you need.

Oh... So according to the article, i just download that ROM, rename it to PH85IMG.zip and flash it via bootloader.
After that i should be able to install any ROM i want right? Including the Cyanogenmod JB 4.1.2 one?
----
Oh and just to update, I've also updated my bootloader to the latest 1.93.2222 one. Working all fine.
I've also run the SuperCID batch script, and it seemed to work, but It isn't showing any CID status on my bootloader. Maybe it will once i flash the ICS ROM on it.
HURRAY! It worked. I'm using the T-Mobile ICS ROM right now without any issues. I think I'm going to stick with this for a while before i try the Cyanogenmod 4.1.2 one.
Thanks a lot Afnan dude, your one short reply was enough to solve my issue. Haha
I have an M7 HTC One Sprint that keeps bugging me to update it. I'm not sure how to safely do this without bricking it. It is encrypted and I cannot make backups using TWRP at present (I used to before it was encrypted).
Please can you suggest a good ROM or source for updating my phone/radio or whatever?
My current situation...
I have s-off and root
ROM is Stock w Goodies One 2.10
Android 4.3
Sense 5.0
Kernel 3.4.10-g18569d8
Baseband 1.00.20.0913_3
Build
3.04.651.2.CL251863
TWRP 2.6.3
It might work
Well if the update is official then it shouldn't have a problem.

well get a stock recovery from a stock rooted one, install on your phone and try updating again. or search to see if anyone made a cwm/twrp flashable of it
