Hi all,
prior to post a question I've been reading some posts in the forum and made some tests.
My Galaxy S2 (model GT-I9100) seems to be stuck in a bootloop, I can only see the Samsung logo, and then the phone eventually reboots.
Luckly I can access to Download mode, as suggested in the forum I tried to flash a stock firmware on the phone (downloaded from sammbile). Odin is able to flash the firmware correctly, but this does not solve the problem, the phone is always stuck on boot.
notes:
- I've tries to flash different firmwares from version 2.3.6 to 4.1.1
- I've used the PDA option in ODIN (no re-partition).
- I cannott access to recovery mode, only Download mode.
- I've removed SD card
Any suggestion?
many thanks
Try to flash JB leak via Odin (4.1.2). It's a 3-part firmware which will wipe as it flashes.
And yes, stay away from pit files/repartition.

1. Did you tried to flash a other kernel ? Like Dorimanx v8.34 ? flash via odin if that doesnt work ... you get rood and kernel at the same time, by my side, this kernel is good, the new kernel of dorimanx v9.xx is still in test and somehow someone told me its bugged.
if that doesnt work
1. Download Odin3 v3.04 [ Uploaded it for you ]
2. Click on Sammobile - Register yourself, dont worry its free, and download your firmware. [ You have to register yourself, before you can download anything. ]
3. Extract the .zip File you downloaded from sammobile, open Odin3 v3.04, connect your phone via USB and go to download mode [ Volume Down Key + Home Key + Power button ]
4. Put the File you extracted [ md5.tar ] on PDA and press Start

Hi, Thanks fr the advice.
I tried to flask Jelly Bean leak firmware and official firmware (4.1.2) the problem remains.
I've also tried to flash Dorimax and Siyah Kernel, but this does not solve the issue, the phone remains in a boot loop.
The phone can still go in download mode, but i do not know what could I flash...
Please let me know if you have any other idea.
Thanks
You need to phone to successfully take an Odin stock flash to fix it. Advanced search Hopper8's 'Odin won't work' thread. There's plenty of ideas in that thread you can try. You could also try flashing a 3 part stock rom, however there's a good chance this will wipe the phone.
Flashing stock FW does not solve
Hi all, as I mentioned in my first post, I've already tried to flash stock firmware (trough Odin 3.04) downloaded from Sammobile. I've tried different versions of stock firmware, from 2.3.3 to 4.1.2, International version and Italian version. With all this stock firmware all I can see is this image:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
when I flash a custom Kernel, I obtain this Image:
in both cases the phone won't go further. It get stuck on that image end reboots after few seconds.
Bye
And I suggest you keep trying. Unless you'd prefer to take it to a service centre & pay for it to be repaired (because you flashed custom kernels to the device to try & fix it) ? Up to you.
What I do know is there aren't any 'magic fixes' here. You know the only way it will be fixed, you can either keep trying that, or not.

Did my frist flash and now everything is messed up (JL2 seeARMS) - for the belli9000m
basically I can get into my phone - but everything is black (i can't see anything other than the status scren) and the home/back button doesn't work - can't see nothing else
I did a factory reset, wipe, cache, etc. everything - and reinstalled the ROM via CWM yet still nothing works
I desperately need help
Install the correct Bell rom via Odin, not CWM. That should fix it.
you mean to start all over kinda thing ? like download the correct Bell JL2 rom (the official one) and use ODIN to install it ?
I still don't understand why everything is blank - like i can pull down status bar and select voicemal to make a call, receive txts even, but nothing else is there - nothing
how does this even happen
Well it's weird, I'll give you that, but your phone is far from "DEAD". Probably some files are failing to load, or were not included in that ROM that you flashed. Flashing the official one will fix it.

ok last question - once I find / dl the original firmware from bell/samsung (JL2) - and I go into download mode and use ODIN - WHAT BOXES DO I TICK/CHECK - because I've only used odin to flash a kernal (and just used pda) I can assume it's not the same as I'll need the original kernal correct ?
do I tick all the boxes? any tutorials on this I'm lost.
also, how big are these files - i am at work behind a firewall so I can't dl the original firm ware from
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
but I need the JL2
if anyone wants to d/l it and email it to me it would be awesome
[email protected]
The files are big (~160MB), I don't think they will fit in your gmail
Here's the download link from samfirmware.com for I9000UGJL2
http://www.multiupload.com/6GRS1OWRJW (password is samfirmware.com)
You just select the .tar file in Odin in the PDA field, don't tick anything else, and flash. Example below:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

Anyway, before you do all that, have you tried wiping the phone from recovery mode? It might help.
You can also try asking seeARMS for help in his thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906977

I know how to get back to stock now - i am just curious about how to re-flash the rom - I want to get this rom on my phone.
I tried flashing it again via CWM - it's even worse, i get into android, but it's blank, black, nothing's there, no buttons work, etc.
so what I was SUPPOSED to do was unzip the original rom .zip file and delete the extra stuff ? then rezip it and flash THAT file via CWM ?
that wasn't in the instructions -- look at the instructions it gives you 2 options:
-------------
"1. Download and extract the file you downloaded above to the root of your internal SD card (both the "seearms" folder and the .ZIP ROM file).
If you would like to customize your install, continue doing step 2. If you would like a stock install with all the applications + SpeedMod kernel + JL2 modem + Generation X theme, skip to step 3"
3. Boot into recovery, and select "Install zip from sdcard".
4. Select "Choose zip from sdcard", and scroll to the ROM.
------------
I did what it said - I did a stock install and skipped to step 3 without doing 2a-2e (custom install)
no where in the instructions did it say I had to open up the .zip file and delete contents then rezip it and flash that file
I need to know how to flash this "custom" rom as per the instructions via seeARM himself -- i didn't do the "custom" and that's what messed me up
ok i flashed with stock JL2 and now i get 10000 force closes
why is this ? anyone ?

somebody had posted like this on my below thread...
"sounds like kernel panic but as far as I know, you shouldn't be able to get there with any button combinations, sometimes reboot fixes this, sometimes wipe"
so try with a wipe.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512299
But how to do wipe when I can only go to download mode?
So I should flash the working rom( xxlpb ), then wipe cache and then flash not working rom and pray and again flash and wipe and flash to infity (or when rom will work )?

Description:
Odin is the ROM Flashing Tool for SAMSUNG smartphones. ROM files flashable with Odin come with .tar extension.
Most of the ROMs you are going to flash with Odin are the official stock Samsung ROMs (or leaked stock ROMs). Custom ROMs are rerely flashable by Odin because they come with .zip extension that Odin does not recognize (it recognizes .tar files).
Custom kernels, however, are sometimes provided in .tar format by their developers (e.g. CF-Root kernels), so that they can be flashed by Odin. When your phone is new and running official firmware you most often cannot flash a custom ROM to it because a Samsung phone often requires a custom recovery and root rights that are included in a custom kernel to be able to flash custom ROMs. That's why Odin often comes in handy in rooting and flashing a custom firmware to your phone because you (often) can flash a custom kernel with it that already includes root and custom recovery and enables you to flash custom firmware (custom ROMs). I use the word "often" very frequently in the previous sentence because every Samsung smartphone is different and requires various procedures for rooting it and flashing custom ROMs (see the section about using Odin below).
If it comes to stock ROMs, the best source of stock (official) Samsung ROM files is located at this excellent website: SamMobile.com/firmwares (link). It requires registration (it's free) and I encourage you to set up an account there because you will most likely use this site several times during your stay at XDA. You will most likely come across 1 .tar or 3 .tar file ROMs there, flashable by Odin. Refer to the Odin flashing guide below for more info.
Below in this thread you can download Odin v3.09, v3.07, v3.06, v3.04, v1.85, v1.83 and all important versions of Odin Multi Downloader.
However, bear in mind that not every Samsung smartphone can be flashed using any Odin version. In fact, for every Samsung smartphone there's a specific Odin version compatible with it. Please refer to the tables below to learn which Odin version is compatible with your phone!
To use Odin with ANY Samsung phone you first need to properly install latest Samsung USB Drivers for Mobile Phones. You can download the drivers in this thread (link). They work for all Samsung smartphones. In that thread there is a full guide on installing the drivers on Win 8/7/Vista/XP x86 & x64.

Can I flash without pc?
Isn't there way to flash recovery without pc cuz.. I forgot to restore boot image in twrp and now my phone is now in downloading mode .
Hello, colleagues,
I've bricked Samsung S9+ (SM-G965F). The story is the following:
1. I rooted it with LineageOS 19.1, but after some time of use decided to back it to original firmware
2. Using https://github.com/samloader/samloader I downloaded original firmware for my country (SEK, G965FXXUHFVG5)
3. And using this instruction - https://techbeasts.com/how-to-unroot-samsung-galaxy-s9-and-s9-plus/ - tried to restore original firmware
4. After this phone did not reboot, stucked with white "Samsung" word on the black screen
The error, I guess, was on step (3) above - phone probably was not official and when (too late!) I looked at https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s9-plus/firmware/ I got that, probably, I was need the most widely used European firmware G965FXXUHFVG4 instead of ...FVG5 and, having phone responsive, tried to repeat step (3).
At the end of this procedure, Odin said "RQT_CLOSED !!" and soon reported failed update, while phone stuck in "Downloading... Do not turn off target..." state in 1-2 pixels before the end of progress bar. Now, if I try to boot it, it shows exclamation sign and a message "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software" (of course, Smart Switch do not help - it says something about "plugin lost connection" or something like).
Since I tried to write wrong firmware, I then decided, using the following procedure - https://technastic.com/samsung-pit-file-download/ - to repartition it using PTI file according to instructions. It did not help - situation the same, Odin reports "RQT_CLOSED" and phone stucks in 1-2 pixels before the end of progress bar.
Now is the question - whether it's possible to revive the phone? Any comments, suggestions are highly welcome.
Thank you.
You can still flash firmware with Odin from that Emergency screen. Just do button combo for download mode if you get that screen again, flash away. Just make sure you are using correct formware

I'm sorry for misunderstanding. When I use samloader to download firmware, in fact I get enc4 file, which need to be decrypted and result is Zip archive with 5 files inside - BL, AP, CP, CSC and HOME_CSC. So, four of them I can specify in Odin configuration - BL, AP, CP and either CSC or HOME_CSC. When you say 'stock firmware', what exactly do you mean? Some single file of those mentioned above or something else? I will appreciate if you can give more details. Thank you!
