Hey all.
I have a ****ty Pipo S3 tablet running Android 4.1.1.
The weird problem I'm having is when the USB OTG/Host cable is plugged in, the device turns itself on 10 seconds after the screen turns off. It keeps on doing this over and over again.
Is there anyway to stop this from happening? There is no devices connected to the other end of the USB OTG cable.

I charge my phone on my desktop computer via USB, when I do a shutdown on my computer my Lumia will stop charging. I have to unplug the phone and replug to charge again.
Its like my windows 8 PC is telling my phone to stop accepting power.

The computer is set to keep USB devices powered even shut down. Which the S2 has no problems with.

I have Galaxy SII with android Gingerbread.Until recently my phone was being detected by my system .But few days back I unplugged the phone from another system after transferring data ,without safely removing it.
Since my phone shows USB connected (MTP-connected) message along with the icon even when it is not connected.Also since then it is not being detected by my system and KIES shows connecting .When i opt for USB mass storage option ,it pops up a message"USB connected ,please remove the cable " .Same situation for USB debugging mode.
Please suggest as what to do .My last option is factory reset ,
Plug into wall charger let it charge for I min. Turn charger off at wall or unplug from wall wait few seconds 5 or 10 then remove usb cable from phone. If that dont work its looking like a new usb port which is cheap and easy to fit.

I have an i777 (AT&T). I would like to root it. When you connect the micro USB cable, the phone starts to act strangely. First, you cannot charge the phone through the cable (I have to use an external charger and keep switching batteries). When you connect the cable, the phone does the following: every six seconds the black and white battery charging icon appears in the middle of the screen (the one that you see when the phone is off), and stays there for a split second. Then the screen is black until the battery icon appears again. The phone cannot be used while the cable is connected.
There are ways to send files to the phone (Kies Air) that let you work around the cable issue. But does anyone know how to fix this USB cable problem?

Seems like your USB port is damaged and you can damage the internal parts by giving a fluctuating power supply
Hi. I have the same problem. Could you fix it? Charging and data transfer can be solved (external battery charger - airdroid) but I do not know how to root it. Is there any wireless way to root the device? Thanks

Im unable to use my phone as USB Mass storage device. When i connect my phone to PC sometimes im getting as USB device not recognized and sometimes im not. I tried different PCs and different cables. ITs ONLY CHARGING
tried cleaning the micro usb port, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers in Pcs but it didnt work.
I switched off my phone, removed mem card, reinserted it, swithced it on again, connected my phone to PC(in sleep mode)
phone is detected as storage device and got notification in notification panel to select as charge only/files mode/ photos mode.
After ejecting and removing cable again back to issue. No detection. OTG also not detected. No Data transfers are being made but its only charging( even through Car USB port)
Anybody facing USB not recognised problem ? i hope its software related.
could anyone let me know of solution.

I thought I was alone in this issue.
Basically, my problem is, the wall charging and USB connect are reversed. i.e., I connect my wall charger, its showing as USB mode and when I connect the cable to a PC, its showing as AC Charging. I tested with Ampere app and when I connect to AC Charger, it is drawing only around 300mA(like it would do if connected to USB) and its drawing around 1.5A(like it would do when connected to wall charger) when connected to USB PC.
I have been having this issue for quite sometime and recently, I had upgraded to Marshmallow through OTA upgrade. I thought atleast this upgrade would fix this issue but I am still facing the same issue. I even contacted the customer care and nothing useful advice other than restoring to factory settings was suggested(which I tried and didn't work).
I guess it should be some software issue but don't know what it is or how to fix it. Any inputs would be welcome.

I am new to these forums. I relcently installed cyanogenmod 13 and after that installed elementalX on nexus 7 2013 flo.
I have usb debugging on. I have installed stickmount.
I have enabled OTG + charge from kernel EK Manager.
I connected my Y OTG cable. Tablet can be charged but when I connect any usb device to usb interface of OTG cable nothing happens. I donot even get pop up on my device that something has been connected. Although if I connect anything, I can see it is getting power. As, I connected a usb hub which lights up and also connected easycap and the light on it also lit up. But I am confused as all my usb devices can get power but my tablet is not recognizing any hardware addition.
Also, is this cynogemod issue or kernel issue . I will consider fresh install if I know where the problem is.

Solved: I was using angled adaptor which was not allowing otg to work.
