Hello its been awhile since i have posted on here. Anyway i have a photon 4g thats unlocked and rooted and all that running pageplus. Now the other day i think one of my kids got ahold of my phone. When the phone starts now i get a nag screen from Sprint wanting me to activate my phone on their network. I can cancel out of it and my phone works fine. The other thing my phone is doing is its constantly stuck in roaming mode and the symbol no matter if im local or not stays on. Im not running any other operating systems on this phone only the stock one. Can anyone help me get rid of the roaming symbol and the sprint activate your phone screen please.
I'm interested to hear how this goes because I have my wife's line on Pageplus, and I'm thinking about moving my Photon to them once my Sprint contract expires. You might have to do a factory reset. When you activated your phone, did you have to send it in by mail or is there a store that did it for you?
i can do the work for you remotely. only problem is i charge for my services and i dont think xda likes tha so im not going to say anymore
Hello,
I have an HTC Aria on my AT&T plan. I cracked the screen and figured it was time for an upgrade anyway, so I bought a GSII from a friend. I powered off both phones, moved my SIM from the Aria to the GSII, and powered it on. I can text and call, in and out, but I have no data service. The strangest part is that when I first powered on the phone, I had data for a few minutes. Then it disappeared, never to come back again.
I can move the SIM back to my Aria and everything works normally again. I assume since I can call and text the IMEI is not blacklisted. I've checked APN settings and they appear OK. The phone came with stock 4.0.4 so I rooted and upgraded the Kernel. This is frustrating me to no end. If you have any ideas, please let me know.
Thanks,
Will
Simple.
Call AT&T and tell them you got a different phone and need your plan adjusted.

Likely you are still using a 3g plan so you can't use the apn labeled phone with a separate mms apn unless you have your data plan updated. In the meantime set a new apn like this (Don't use the Quotes... just enter the information and the remaining lines are left blank):
Name"ATT 3G SIM"
mcc="310"
mnc="410"
apn="wap.cingular"
user="[email protected]"
password="CINGULAR1"
server="cingulargprs.com"
mmsc="http://mmsc.cingular.com/"
mmsproxy="wireless.cingular.com"
type="default,mms"

Wow you are the best! I was trying to hack the imei, thought about going prepaid, anything to get it working. Thank you!
Starting on Monday night 02/18/13 I was going through settings on my phone and accidentally selected Band 800 not knowing what I was doing. Immediately I noticed I was unable to send sms/mms. Later I discovered unable to send/receive calls. I can receive mms/sms and data works just fine.
The phone shows a 4g connection (cdma+lte) but if I switch to cdma it loses signal.
I have already spent the past 2 days on the phone with Verizon and HTC. Neither of them can figure out how to fix my problem. I have factory reset the phone, replaced SIM card with a new one, updated OS to ICS from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136273 and updated the radio from the same post.
I used the DEBLOATED Rom Deodexed version: 7.02.605.06 710RD
Phone is rooted with Revolutionary.
After several more factory resets as directed by Verizon and HTC, the initial issue remains.
I rooted my phone in 2011 and have had zero issues til Monday when I selected that band 800 setting.
I am unable to receive a factory replacement due to the phone being quite worn and used. I am not willing to pay Verizon a $100 deductible to replace my phone (pointless having insurance if I have to dish out more $$$ to use it)
Please if anyone out there knows how to fix this...help me.
Go back to what you messed around with and see if you can change it back
If I hadn't already tried that and it worked, I wouldn't have made a thread on here. Verizon and HTC both can't even figure out why it won't work.
The craziest thing is I had switched service over to a different phone (HTC Imagio Windows Mobile) and still had the same issue. That phone isn't rooted or modified in any way. Had never been used til I took it out of the box and had Verizon change service over to it.
It is definitely something with Verizon and HTC phone on their end, not mine.
I am now on a 3 year old Blackberry Curve that isn't having any of the issues either of the HTC phones had.
Hmm strange but i remember back in september i flashed Newts sense 4.0 rom and it was too laggy so i went back to stock 2.1 and my data was out it had the 4g icon and everything and but it would timeout and my texts would come in late even though i tried many radios and even called verizon but no luck. In the end I went to the Rom Roll up thread and flashed the Froyo Ruu from Hboot and let it do its thing then i upgraded it all the way to Gingerbread rooted again with revolutionary and that fixed my radio problem might fix yours too im not sure just sharing my experience
OK this is my first post and it's a weird one. I've always known phones to be useless without a SIM card except for emergency calls. Well today I purchased an S4 on Craigslist. As I was bringing it home, it started to ring. I didn't answer it and shortly after I received a text. There was no SIM in it so I thought it was weird but left it alone.
When I got home, I did a factory reset, put in my old SIM card and activated it to my number. Everything went well - received texts normally, emails worked great, called my husband's phone and worked great until I looked at his phone and saw that the number that popped up wasn't mine, it was the old number. Tried calling my phone with his and went straight to vmail.
Seems like everything activated correctly except for the phone function. Called Verizon and the rep thought it was odd as well since texts went through, but could not figure it out. The rep said the phone is probably tampered with, but I've never heard of anything that could make phone calls without a SIM or wifi.*I reactivated my old phone and left the S4 with no SIM and it's still able to make/receive phone calls!! Weird!
All IMEI numbers match, physical and in About Phone even on box. Phone is not rooted according to Root checker.
Please someone tell me what this is so I can just can undo it and activate my number to the new phone.Thanks
Maybe Verizon or an emergency service was trying to call you... They don't need a sim for that.
The old phone issue is normal every time they port a number or switch a number they [email protected]#$ it up I've had it happen a couple times it on their end not yours

The Sim is only for LTE service, you use built in CDMA radios for calling.
I honestly don't know about the number issue, take it to a corporate Verizon store (the private stores only care about sales not customer service) to have them properly activate it.

Sounds like the phone is set to nv-only mode. The vzw s4 is fully operational in this mode but it won't pull your phone info from the sim card.
This is the mode we put the phone in when flashing to carriers like page plus, selectel, etc.
If you want, you can PM me the meid of the device and/or the phone number the calls are being placed with. I'll check to see if it's an active page plus account.
Preface I am not an android fan at all....Despise it, but my mom uses Android and is having some issues and I can use some help/advice
She has had the desire 610 for about 3 or so months now, using it on At&t Gophone. She has been moderately happy with the phone aside from the camera. However, as of late she seems to be having some issues here lately with the data.
Sometime, even when she is out in the middle of the city with 4G her data is not working at all...No FB notifications, No Emails, etc etc and then suddenly they will come back in.
Twice(including tonight) she has found herself lost because her Google navigation crashes/closes and wont work(her words....I am not entirely sure the issue). However, when she showed me just now the GPS worked fine when I typed in the location.
I did call Att a few weeks back and they told me to turn the mobile data off for a few seconds and then back on...that somehow fixed it.
She said she tried to do that and turn the phone off and then back on and it still wasn't working. She claims it works fine when she gets back home...she keeps saying it is because of the wifi and I am like "No wifi has nothing to do with it"
Is it her phone(the Desire 610) or the Att gophone service.
We used att postpaid and they are the same company/network and I never had these issues with postpaid but she is having this issues a bit much now with goPhone.
its kinda hard to tell without the phone. I have a 2 year contract with the desire 610 and it works perfectly fine, although it could be a hardware issue, the gophone service or even that the service does not come in good in the city where u live ( which is highly unlikely). my guess is that it would be the plan
