Hi, this is my first time on this forum, buy a Dell Streak 5 second hand, but they said comes unlocked for any company, I've checked and I put the SIM CARD but does not work when selecting the operator says it is not possible to associate, I hope is the right place for my question and if someone can help me unlock it for use with any company, let the phone data.
Model: Dell Streak
Android Version: 2.3.7
CPU: 1.1 Ghz
RAM: 512 MB
internal memory: 1.34GB
Build number: MIUI-2.4.20
Kernel version: 2.6.35. 14-DSC-Team-Phoenix n0p @ ubuild # 216
Its surprising you'd have an Android version that high. It depends on what part of the world is was made for, maybe.
Streak 5. Rooted with Gingerbreak. Stock 2.2. Build 15697 (353). AT&T
It's MIUI 2.4.20. That's android 2.3.7.
Maybe they meant rooted instead of unlocked.
Try on cellunlocker or other site to buy an unlock code.

Now that the Unlocked Dell Streaks are out there on the market, has anyone been successful in moving from the AT&T 1.6 software to the Official US Dell Unlocked 2.2 software?
As a second question, can someone with an official US Dell Unlocked Streak provide their Baseband to us? I've not seen it in any other forums.
I'm hesitant in going to DJ Steve's software, but I'd love to move to the official 2.2 update for the US Unlocked Devices.
I've already SIM unlocked my Streak from AT&T, now I'd like to turn it into an official (or as close to official) Unlocked US Dell Streak (Not the EU Baseband 00 version)
I agree. I tried many times to use DJ Steve's 2.2; but have had no luck installing it on my Unlocked AT&T Dell Streak.
I have an ATT Streak which was unlocked by ATT, and after rooting it I had no problems with the DJ rom! It went on without issue and works great!
I would love to get a copy of the unlocked US Dell update to 2.2 to try tho......
Post it if ya got it.......LOL
Later.................

Hi there, I am a new poster and a new streak owner. I have lurked here for a while and I find the information to be amazing!
I have one quick question, that may not have a quick answer. Any help would be appreciated and thanks to all in advance.
I purchased a locked Dell Streak. My carrier is Rogers (Canada). The phone was purchased new from a Rogers store.
If I unlock the phone using an unlock code can I then update to Android 2.2 without having to go through all the other steps i.e, flashing, custom roms, etc?
Thanks again
Unlocking by getting a code from the carrier will not allow you to upgrade to froyo any quicker as your baseband will still be the carrier locked version. You need to use qdl tool to get 2.2. that installs froyo and changes your baseband. Streakdroid.com for info on using qdl tool.
Dell Streak powered by StreakDroid 1.7.0
Thanks very much for the help, I appreciate it. Are there official dell 2.2 files available?
Hi Sturgeon
I also have a Streak from Rogers which I had unlocked, and currently using with Telus.
I also am eagerly awaiting the official upgrade. Rumours is the upgrade won't come until March. You won't Froyo any quicker unless you do what many on this forum, use a home brew solution.

Thanks so much for the input, I am very scared to do the DIY method....I see so much info but not even sure where to start!
Hi guys,
I'm currently an AT&T customer who's thinking to switch to Tmobile's
$30/month for Unlimited text&web plan
After googled some articles regarding AT&T X10a and the Tmobile(USA) 3G
I'm still not really clear about some key facts.
Please allow me to explain my situation now:
Origin: I bought it from AT&T store
Unlocked? YES
Model: X10a (I found this on the sticker located on the back of my phone)
********************************************************
But I flashed to different baseband and ROM
Info. I found in the "About Phone"
Model number: X10i
Android version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: 2.1.71
Kerel version:2.6.29-00054-g5f01537
[email protected]#1
ROM: Wolf_Xperia_6.0.0s (Android 2.3)
I found a thread and somebody mentioned about:
"The AT&T XPERIA X10A supports the 850HMz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, 1900MHz, and 2100HMz bands. So since the phone doesn't support the needed 1700MHz band, the phone will be stuck with 2G speed on the T-Mobile network if you continue using the Sony Ericsson generic world 2.1 (for X10A) firmware."
Currently, I am using AT&T SIM card and data plan as well, and I have NO problem getting "H" at most of the time and sometimes "3G"
Q1: Is that means my phone is STILL X10a but not X10i which was shown
in the "About Phone"?
Q2: I will NOT get Tmobile HSPA/3G working on my phone, unless I get a X10i?
or I can flash it and/or de-brand it?
This question might be asked somewhere, but my case is a bit different,
since I am using different baseband and ROM from stock.
If anyone had same experience and/or you already knew the answer,
please help me out
Thanks in advance
James
X10a will remain x10a even though it shows x10i. For the 3g I am pretty sure T-Mobile is 1900Mhz for gsm? Correct me if I am wrong

Thanks, that helps a lot.
btw I knew that T-mobile uses 1700/2100 for its HSPA

Yes, like jailbroken iphones, an X10a will only receive at about 119kbps (edge) when connected to T-Mobile network.

Ok, so today is my mom's 52nd birthday and she is currently using a TracFone running (I think) on Verizon's network but her phone is a P.O.S. Galaxy Core Prime and she hates it.
I bought this phone (Model: LGLS990, Android ver.: 5.0.1, Build #: LRX21Y & Software ver.: LS990ZVE) I just want to know: Can I unlock it for her SIM (As in stay on her current plan but on the LG G3 with those system software)?
She does not care for root so if I have to to unlock, I will and, if so, could I revert back to stock and still keep the network unlock otherwise what she don't know won't hurt her.
Please help, this is gonna be her b-day gift (I hope, if I can do this)
I'm going to assume that this is not possible since there have been 50 + views but not a single reply....

No you cannot. If it was on Verizon's network defiantly no. If on AT&T/T-Mobile then possibly if you run a custom rom for GSM.
