Hello guys,
two days ago I got myself stuck in heavy rain, with my xperia ray in my pocket. Whenn I got home I checked whether there was water in the phone.
Luckily it was just a bit at the bottom of the rear side and everything seemed normal, but when I pushed the home button, the white light changed into yellow, and, for I have CWMrecovery, there was no more blue light at boot. A while later even the home button and volume rocker did not respond anymore (which now is fixed). Has this to do that some water actually got in the phone and ruined the LED notification light, or what could it be?
Thanks in advance
Try cleaning your phone board using IPA..

Hi there ,First of all..when u got to know that phone is wet..you should immediately disconnect the battery to avoid internal short circuiting..I suppose its hardware..If its software u can see if SEUS fixes your problem but before operating phone you have make sure its not damaged by water..
If u havent done that water might permanently damage the circuitry inside your phone..
Clean your phone with IPA isopropyl alcohol, which might fix the issue..
The Rain water after getting dried up might leave salt traces on the board which may conduct (even when water is dried out) causing damage to the board so use IPA to clean it off by disassembling your phone..
You can google Ray disassembly, or have a professional do it for you..
If your phone was completely submerged your battery might not be working fine anymore..check your battery once..
It can be dangerous operating with a faulty battery..it might melt or even worse explode so make sure your battery is good..
Water can be a serious threat for electronics..so i dont guarantee that your led will work anymore but still its worth a shot ..:good:
Clean the board to see if everything else is working fine..but you may have to give up on that led..good luck
Hope i helped
regards..

Many thanks!
I already figured it had nothing to do with software, because several apps even confirmed that vibration and haptic feedback should work fine on the phone.
I did disconnect the battery and saw that only the lower side of the rear side (opposite to the LEDNOTLIGHT) was a little wet.
Apart from the problems I mentioned earlier I am 100% sure nothing else was damaged by the water, or as you stated, the left-over salt.
I'm definitely gonna try the IPA, thank you very much!
I'll keep you up-to-date
Glad i helped you..

How do you recommend cleaning the board? Drip the IPA on it and wait for it to dry, or what´s the best way?
Does this IPA work for the vibration and haptic feedback too? since those are practically located next to eachother

You have to physically disassemble the phone first, then use a microfiber cloth, dip it in ipa and clean the board .. stillI dont think your phone got wet enough for water to get in so much..
Still google for videos on disassebly..here is one

but its aint english..
REMEMBER Dont disassemble if u r not confident enough to reassemble..u dont wanna make a mess out of your phone just in case

If it's not caused by water damage as you said, could having it put away in the bathroom with a hot shower on have caused it? Maybe because something caused the H. feedback to stop working and the LEDNOTlight to freak out?
Moisture from hot shower may cause damage but not sure....
To be simplelease keep your away from water..unless u have a Xperia Z or ZR or V or whatever.....

I just confirmed that it is not software related. Repaired two times with SEUS and Flashtool, and still both times no vibration and yellow light instead of white

Unfortunately your IPA did not work. All I got was a short white light i.o a yellow light, but it turned into yellow immediately. I guess there's no other option to buy a new phone? I'm gonna pay more than my phone costed. It's over an year old and water damage of course isn't covered by the waranty

Well, the white and blue light are back, but the haptic feedback unfortunately not, and somehow the LEDlight doesn't flash anymore when a whatsapp message comes in, but that might just be me not paying attention..
Any idea how to deal with the vibration not working?
The vibration is made with a small motor with an off - centre weight on it, I have changed them before on my old Nokia ,I think most newer phones use the same type.

I don't think I have the knowledge to change the vibration thingy. So I guess I just gotta wait 'til I get a new phone
Future
Alright, what happened 'til now is that LED notif is back, unthough the yellow light still somes pops up instead of the white light. Vibration neither working, but nothing else seems to be not working properly. If anyone knows how to fix the two things I mentioned above, tell me

Ok so I posted this in general but maybe I should've posted it here so yeah...
So when I hold my finger still at the left side of the touchscreen (as far as I can), for example when dragging the youtube cursor thingy (then the left side would be the bottom..), it will start to jump around.. Or for example when swiping the homescreen to the left. If I hold my finger still at the edge of the touch screen it will also jump around.
And for some reason this isn't happening when charging (or connected to the pc)
Anyone else having this problem?
Edit: Something to note is that this is my second GSII having this problem. Although the first one I had was a really a lot worse.
Could be some moisture or high humidity affecting it! I also sometimes have TS problems, I then just clear the screen and make sure my fingers are dry enough. Just could be.
Regards.

Yeah I tried clearing it.. But as I said it is not happening when connected to AC.. So yeah.. It's mostly annoying when trying to select a specific time in a video.. It's nothing major but still, such an expensive phone shouldn't have such a problem imo.
I will return it tomorrow.. If I remain the only one I know of having this problem..
But just to be sure.. You don't have this specific problem?
Nope. I don't. And please do make sure that the problem is enough to send the device for RMA.
When you are charging the device it gets hot, so there is less moisture and humid on the screen. So again, clean your phone screen with a micro fiber cloth and dry your fingers too, then see again.
If it still remains, then your choice.
Regards.

It's as soon as I plug in the cable (tried holding my finger on the ts while plugging it in, and when I did, it immediately stopped). And yeah I really cleaned it thoroughly.. But.. Could it be the touchscreen protector?.. With my other phone it didn't make any difference when I took it of, so I really don't want to take it off if not necessary cause those things are 5 eu each :/
Hmm, a pricey protector, shouldn't be an issue. But still it could be the reason.

Oh and thanks for your help.
Hello, I want your help to fix my xperia go touchscreen problem. Well, Ive searched the similar problem on the forum but what I found is about "touchscreen not working" only.. was, it's very easy to text and slide trough the screens without any "not so responsive screen".. after few months my xgo became less sensitive like before, when I tried to type as fast as usual. The screen cant detect my touch.. I compared with my friend's xgo and it is easier to text on his xgo.. its because I flashed wrong rom? I flashed one roms so far (superJB and currently back on stock with phantom 1.0.9 kernel) thanks.
Xgo .100 JB with UBL.
Open your device's build.prop using any text editor and check
ro.sf.lcd_density=??
Compare its value with your friend's xperia go and edit it accordingly. After you've done with editing, restart your device.
Check screenshot in the attachment.
Note: Do not put value similar to that of screenshot. It is just for your reference.
If I helped you then press Thank you.

My Xperia Go has the exact same problem recently. It just started happening a few days ago and nothing has changed on the device (software etc). I used to be able to text VERY fast but now it sometimes takes a few pushes of the keys for the device to recognise my touch. I can't believe it is anything in the build.prop as this would have suddenly changed right? MY LCD density there is set to 160 (which is the same as default).
Any help appreciated...
EDIT - I also noticed that since my touchscreen has become un-responsive I had got battery drain issues. The last 2 nights I have gone to sleep and when I have woken up my battery is almost dead... hmmm

Nice... because i am planning to replace my digitizer by my self too when i got my digitizer spare . Just need to know what the other things i would need to change it perfectly (Make sure my XGO still have water resistant capability). Sooo... i would appreciate if u could reporting back when you done it .
Same problem.. My phone is not sensitive as usual.. When typing and gaming, it is really annoying.. :'(
How much is the digitizer for Xperia U?
I didn't do nothing and the phone just became not sensitive to touch.. Sliding is good but when I press 3 times to screen.. Only 2 times approx is known to touch..
Help me out ? Only way is change digitizer?
Just make sure u didnt get touchscreen issue from lag. I use custom rom and the touchscreen is feel better, but some area still hard to use because mine is defect already. U could try search on google for ur digitizer price .

Hi guys,
I took my Go out for a swim and after my swim, the screen started to flicker and eventually the screen died(yes, all the flaps were closed, I double checked). Now this was last month, and I did the whole rice bag thing, and still no improvement :3 But occasionally the screen comes back to life when I tap on it and then dies again.. And last week, I just happened to switch on the phone and it started working like nothing ever happened! And yesterday it stopped working again I took it to the Sony store and they say that it might take about 400RM(120USD) to fix it.. Is there anything that I can do to fix this??
Try to have it tested for water resistance, if a machine test shows leaks even after cleaning the caps it's not your fault (at least if $ony follows their service manuals to the letter)
You can open the screws up in the back and manually troubleshoot what is up with it. Check it for any water or moisture on the inside or any damage from it. Good luck

Did you switch it off the instant it got wet. Using the internally wet phone could damage the main board which could be causing the problems.
Or the screen could have been screwed up...

I did switch it off after the screen started flickering :/.. I opened her up today and theres a a little of rust on one of the connectors that lead from the screen to the board..
Well there you go. Youre gonna have to get new parts or fix the old ones.
Try removing the rust from the connector, then fully drying the insides and see if the screen turns on if you moove the connector around. Also check ebay for the price of a new screen. It might be cheaper then you think.

After water damage my xperia z3 having the same problem! Screen flickering, brightness is very low I can barely see anything in daylight! Otherwise everything working fine! Any idea what might causing the problem? Is it the screen or the motherboard is damaged?
Hi there xda.
I gave my phone to replace the battery. To a service that claims they know what they do. Everything was looking good after I got the phone back after an hour.
I left the city so I got to use a satnav and after a while I've noticed a yellow splash on the bottom left of the LCD. It gets more yellow when the phone heats up, and gets less yellow when it cools down, but it's still visible.
I decided to take it apart and the yellow splash/dot immediately disappear.
I've returned to the service but they ofc claim they did nothing wrong.
So I've got a question for you guys, what could they do wrong. When I took the phone apart, I've noticed a curbed cu metal plate over the battery, and got nothing under the battery, between the battery and the lcd. Sth should be there to isolate the battery from LCD or what?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thx in advance

feels bad for this brother. That may b because they hit the screen with a punch aur may b it Being pressed hardly.. even it may b they replaced your screen with old or used one rather than battery
well, the screen looks like the same, the glass has the same scratches.
so if they pushed it to hard or sth, there is really nothing i can do.

Dear All,,
Device : Xperia Z2

lately I use Z2 for under water photo, to be precise at Feb 20, 2015
Cronology:
1. Using phone under water for photo
2. activating touch block feature to prevent screen to be 'touched' by water
3. touch block's 'slide to deactivate' suddenly missing
4. until now I cannot touch my screen.
5. I do re-flash stock ftf file .167, but no changes, even in first use setup I cannot touch language selection.
If anyone have some clue to this issue, please tell me immediately.

Well if it's a software problem reflashing .ftf back to stock should have fixed it... did you select to wipe cache and data in flashtool when you flashed?
If you didn't i would suggest to try that, if you did that already i think it's possible your digitizer got damaged by the water somehow :S
Do you see any kind of water traces/residue inside your phone?

I did wipe data and cache,
water traces?
only saw some in camera (camera is blurry with water vapors).
i'm sorry but i dont really understand about digitizer thing,,
can you help suggest me what to do next?
Thank you.
By telling us that there was some vapour inside camera, I guess your phone isn't waterproof. Flaps were closed when you put it inside the water?
If yes and there's water, as I said. Somehow your waterproof is gone and by that water get's in and might get something done to your digitizer. Only Sony can fix it.
i agree with damian01211, probably some water got into your phone and damaged your digitizer (touch screen), if it was software related flashing .ftf with wipes would have fixed it
if you still have warranty use it...

if your diagnosis are pointing to digitizer,
as you said, only sony can fix it,
then i'll definitely go there because i still have warranty here,
as for complain with this matter to sony,
any suggestion to how to push them to repair my device quickly or at least willing to accept my device ??
Thank you.
Well, when I destroy my digitizer by using Fairy Washing Up Liquid to clean my screen, I went to my network operator, told them that my phone was working perfectly well on a given day and then next day when I woke up, my touch screen didn't work.
They've check if the water got it in by checking white paper above sim card if it's red and took my Z2 for repair.
If your paper is red (check it, it's above your sim card, flip the phone) then good luck (let's hope it's white) as they might accept it or not.
In Ireland even if water get's to your phone it does cover under warranty but I have no idea in Indonesia.
