Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom Lens Cap - Samsung Galaxy S 4 Zoom

I'm not after a case for this already fat phone, but was wondering if anyone knows where I could obtain a lens cap only for this device? I have found cases for it but 99% of these do not have the lens cap with them...

It's a good case but after the lens cap alone. I would order this now but am situated in the UK at the moment and moving to NZ next week so don't think it'll get here before I go lol.

Wyslano z mojego Samsung Galaxy S4 ZOOM za pomoca Tapatalk

I measured the width of the lens on the Zoom and it's 52mm. Has anyone tried just a simple 52mm lens cover on it? Not the pinch and clip type but just a simple lid type.
Does it fit, does it stay on? What about a 52mm lens filter. Would that work as a lens cap?

OK, I just got a simple genereic 52mm clip on lens cover from ebay, and while it fits, it's a bit of a push to get it on. So far it says on, but looks wise (to me anyway) it's not that great. It doesn't have a tether string either, it just stays on by being ever so slightly smaller than the lens. Been using it for a day or two now, so still not used to it. At least it's protecting the lens. And those that have looked at it didn't say anything about it looking out of place.
Only cost me £1.50, so can't be bad to that.

Camera going to get scratched

Looking at the back of the phone, the camera looks like it sticks out more then sgs1 and 2. Do you think there camera'bump' or worse still the camera lens will get scratched when lying it on its back?
Sent using TCP/IP
From my experience this is inevitable. On my HTC Desire it is quite badly scratched up. The good thing is, that the part that gets scratched up is only the transparent plastic on the back cover, which can be replaced easily.
Don't know about the One X though. Its camera juts out too. I was planning to buy that but didn't because of the non removable back..

is the s3 lens sticking out more than s2? some images pls
Hope these images appear !
Scratches on a lens are generally hardly noticeable, if at all, in pictures, though more so if you're shooting f11 onwards. Obviously a mega gouge would show but I don't think there's too much to worry about. It's the condition of the sensor that really matters.

The camera lens would be placed a bit inside the silver frame, so it should be safe hopefully

Most people who have had a phone where the glass/plastic lens cover lies against a table when the phone is resting on its back, find that camera images get much more blurry after a few weeks. Many HTC Desire users ended up punching out the plastic cover with a pen, and when you see before and after pictures, the improvement is really noticeable.
The manufacturer just needs to build in a half mm lip on the camera surround. Doesn't look like Samsung did this. The next best option is an additional case protrudes beyond the lens cover, like a gel case.
well the Desire was designed to be placed screen down, hence the lip - so it doesn't scratch the screen.
With the SGS3 packing Gorilla glass 2, I'm guessing you're meant to (or at least can..) place it screen down also...
it would be fine... trust me I have S 2 and never had any straches neither front nor the back.
I've had a chance to play around with an SIII and that was my first concern to, but there is a silver frame around the lens that protrudes slightly (about half a mm) so the camera doesn't actually touch flat surfaces.

Thanks, that's good to hear.
I always buy a case as I generally drop my phone at least once a week and my cases take the beating, I have practically shattered the plastic pieces on my case, btw the case is one of those gels with a piece of plastic in it.

My camera lense is scratched to buggery, i had to buy a case to stop it getting worse, Bad move by Samsung IMHO,
I dont think it makes a difference with the shots though, but left to get worse and i guess it probably would eventually..

Regular, flat case for 7"?

I've been Googling, eBaying, and Amazoning (last fictional verb sounds kinda cool) for a common, flat case for my Tab 2 7.0.
It has become my number one remote control, so you can probably understand how uncomfortable a flip case is, adding an extra step every time I want to change a channel, or having a cover hanging (why in the world are 95% of the cases are now "folio"?!). Also, most cases either block the IR transmitter entirely, have some part obstructing it partially, making it mandatory to aim with "the" angle towards my TV set.
I have found a few silicon cases on eBay, but they have an S line, or weird X across the whole thing, that just make the device look fugly to me. No offense if someone likes it or has it, as we know, everyone has different taste.
I'd like to just get a regular, non-flip, non-folio, non-X-or-any-character-of-the-alphabet-drawn, plain cover, that protects the rear of my device, and doesn't obstruct the IR blaster at all. How hard can it be? The perfect fit for me would be a flat, matte black rubber thingy, with a hole where the blaster is... so simple, and inexistent! Maybe even better, a hard case.
Anyone found something, somewhere?
OtterBox
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Defender Series Case
I've looked but haven't found any.
I tried out the S curve case that was made for the GTab Plus and it fit horribly. It's too bad that the Gtab 2 isn't popular enough to have more cases. I was hoping for a Cruzerlite case, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

Yeah, I've seen it. I'm not sure it fits the "simple, flat" criteria, although I think I'd buy it if it didn't cost 1/3 of what my tablet did
I agree that Otterbox is pricey. I also hate the frame around the screen on the front.
Why not just get one of these cheap tpu style cases and just cut the tabs off that hold the cover?

That's exactly what I planned on doing if I couldn't find anything... get rid of the cover, and/or punch a hole for the IR sensor on the ones that are designed for P3100.
What about this one...

Says "P3100", but there's a 7.0 Plus in the pictures... who knows!
Got one, and it fits perfect! I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
PS: Anyone has tried matte/antiglare screen protectors? Been thinking about one, but not really convinced.
Try the Capdase silicone case for Tab 7.0 plus. Although mine is the folio type, (silicone case with IR blaster slot + leather folio) their plain silicone (w/o the leather case) seems exactly what you're looking for. Just plain flat black silicone, no x or s or whatever. just plain flat.

Do the corners of that case create a bit of a bevel/lip where they clamp on the tab? In other words, when you put the tab face down on a desk/table, is there a space between the screen and desk/table or is it flush?

I prefer the matte over the clear screen protector. The clear one gets sticky at times, the matte is always smooth and you don't have to worry about hairline scratches and reflections in your screen.

Well that's a little compromise. Color is not as sharp and bright as the clear one but not by a big margin.

I guess it's worth a try. I'll get a matte screen cover and see how it goes. Good input, thanks!
Now, the long overdue pictures . Since the back surface is mostly flat (that was the idea), I concentrated mostly on showing how it fits the tablet. My apologies for the narrow depth of field... unfortunately I didn't have my tripod's plate with me, so I had to take the pictures handheld, and the only way to get a steady shot was with a large aperture.
This is the general look of it:

Dealextreme tends to be somewhat slow compared to individual sellers from Ebay, I believe this is because DX is the "middleman" liasing between customers who place orders and the suppliers who advertise their products whereas on Ebay, the sellers are the suppliers who respond directly to customer orders.

Disassembled z ultra c6208

I cracked my screen while in my pocket. I actually dis assembled my phone today and was surprised by the build. The phones frame is actually poly carbonite plastic with aluminum trim added to the sides. The top and bottom trim is also poly carbonite I'm guessing for the anttenna signal. I'm gonna make a post of my phone disassembly. But the main reason for screen cracking is cause the phone is so big and so thin. The screen glass looks to only be 1- 1.5mm thick so when it flex the glass cracks. I feel they should have made the phone thicker simular to the z1 with the 20.7mp camera with a thicker battery. I would have replaced this phone with the lumia phablet if it didn't have windows on it. Windows phone is a definite no go. Anyway I strongly recommend a case that adds rigidity to the phone like the aluminum bumper case. Anyway photos attached.

Back cover is the easy part. Just use a heat gun and a plastic trim tool or plastic razor. The hard part is figuring the order of disassembly. I would have sent it back to Sony but they couldn't give me a price on how much it would cost. I also felt that added to the total cost of the phone I paid especially since I paid full pop.. And I also thought about how mad I would be if it cracked again after sending it in for repair. So im going to order a new screen assembly and see if I can fix it myself. I do work on cars for a living so a phone "should" be easy...lol. If I cant then I'll either buy another z ultra or similar phone. Not the note 3 though cause I hate touch wiz and its not big enough. I have my eye on the HP 7" tablet that suppose to have calling features as well. I may end up getting the new asus padphone.
I note that it is only a 3000mAh battery not 3050?
Here is a video from YouTube and explains how to disassemble a Sony Xperia Z...

True, thats what I thought too but I think the phone has OIS which might be the reason for some pics to look blurry if the lens moves.
I hate these things, so took them both off straight away.

It messes with the auto focus and over time dirt and dust will collect around the edges causing blurry photos.

Xtremeguard spartan

I used to use these on my old 1+1 as they often have them on offer which makes them one of the cheapest and decent protectors.
Had a 90% off code (Take90) through today so thought I'd have a look if they have anything for the 1+5.
They only have a plastic film protector for the 1+5 showing in their site.
http://www.xtremeguard.com/OnePlus-5-Screen-Protectors-p/oneplus_5_screen_protector.htm#.WapXoiPTVnE
However when selecting that a Spartan glass option comes up at 29.99 (buy 2 with the code to work comes in at $6) the pair, which again is incredibly cheap.
I haven't ordered one yet to see if it's real or just a website error (shipping to the UK takes weeks and costs more than the protectors).
Wondering if anyone else has tried it stateside?
I may order them anyway, I seem to be amassing a collection of bits of sticky edged glass, so another one won't hurt.
I've ordered one. For a tenner I'll risk it. These used to be really good. Had one for my one plus one.

I've got a couple of these on order, although right now I'm fairly happy with my Nilkin/Otterbox combo gave up on the full 3.5D coverage ones, first one arrived broken, second one had debris already on the adhesive before lifting from the plastic.
Well mine has turned up today.
Compete utter sh#te..
It's about 3mm narrower than the screen (not the bezels the actual visible screen)
There's no borders but there's obviously the original screen exposed on the sides
I'm going to demand a refund.
Sorry if anyone else ordered one based on this thread. Very disappointed
Might be able to see the edge and how much is exposed on the right here.

Look like a similar cover to the Nilkin tbh. I'm happy with that as a solution, compared to the dark borders. The Otterbox case I use offers enough protection to the very outer edges due to the depth and my most likely damage would come from a more central hit/scratch.
I've received mine today and the result is similar I'm afraid.
I'll leave it on for a day or two but I reckon it'll come off since it doesn't cover the screen properly.
I really don't understand why it's this hard to make a screen protector that fits properly. Maybe OnePlus just gave the wrong measurements to all the OEMs?
In any case...
Pixel 2 out soon. Maybe that'll be an option.

You have to buy two products in order to get the code "Take90" to work
Same as Nilkin with an extra cutout for the ffc and proximity sensor. It's probably one of the best tgsp right now, full coverage units are currently all worse than this.
