im using cm9 o my neo
everything is just awesome
but there is one big bug which is really annoying
wifi keeps disconnecting
before this rom i've been using GB based roms there were no such wifi issues there
so i hardly think so there is any hardware failure
for the record i've been dealing with this problem over any ics based roms
some people told me maybe you are using the wrong baseband but im using recomended basebands and kernels
anybody had this problem before ?
any solution ?
thanX

since it was working for you before, it shouldnt be a hardware issue.
Wifi is associated with the kernel, thats why I asked you to try another.
whats the issue actually? can you be more specific?

ohh..strange..why dont you check this out on another ICS rom, maybe? because cm9(even the stable version) still has bugs.. or try the fxp version..fxp133 and check with that kernel.

what kernel you use ?
i think you have a problem related with yourself, not the phone.
if the back button (or any other capacitive button) gets wet or moist, it will stop responding.
wipe it with dry clothes and keep it from getting wet.
report if it solved the problem, if not, it's broken, take it to service.

I do agree with you as my entire phone stopped working after it cam in contact with water. I did manage to save it except for the back button. The service center's here (Mumbai,India) are quiet unreasonable with their repair quotes for a non warranty device.Hence would you know which part of the hardware needs replacing so that i may do it myself?
I did open my device and found a blue plastic like thing attached to the display (image attached for reference). Would you know if i need to change the entire display.
Thanks for reading.
Hello all, most of you should be aware of the wifi and tethering bug in the buttery smooth CM10. As a result this has made the ROM short of becoming a daily driver, with a bit of help from bulook00, I was able to mod the framework in order for the wifi and tethering to work properly.
Instructions:
Boot into recovery and do a backup
wipe cache and dalvick cache
Flash zip below
voila wifi and tether now works in CM10 FXP 145
Other mods will have to be made per FXP release or until FXP solves this problem in their sources
I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKED DEVICES OR GLOBAL WARMING SO FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
Special Thanks to
Bulook00
FXP
And say thanks if I helped you with this post

I am on fxp142 now and I am writing this on my PC using my via my phone on USB tether
I have never had any wifi issues with cm10, but this is the first time I have tested tethering as I very rarely use it, but its working fine for me without this fix...

I am using the Live with Walkman and i tried out a few roms in between.. I am currently on stock rom(.587). I never had any battery issues after coming back to stock from custom roms... But now my battery is going down at enormous rate.. I had it full charged at night.. When i woke up around 8 hrs later.. It was 2%. I have active WiFi connection. My Android OS used 82% battery... So i went to recovery and restored from the backup. I also calibrated my battery. Now the WiFi uses around 50% battery and the rest is taken by Cell Standby and Phone Idle..
Please help!! :crying:
I think you should flash your phone again with flash tool, and then calibrate again and give it some days to become normal...
Just my opinion...

You might get Wifi issue ... there are two possible solutions..
Restart your device twice or thrice.. Still if don't work..
Then Go to Root System Folder and Delete wlanfixed file.. you need root browser and Root permission to delete it..
and try latest Mesa kernel i.e V-2.3

i only want a bugless custom cm rom...but because of sony not wanting to release sources for novathor chipset as i understand...we will never have one...xperia u came out with gingerbread witch is preistorical...and then updated to ics when other already had jelly bean...and they always have that one excuse...its not compatible with x software...i had an xperia x8 and thats what they said about that one too...it doesnt support higher than eclair...and custom developers made ics and jelly bean for it...on that 160 ram if im not mistaking...
whenever i search for a custom rom...wifi doesnt work...bluetooth doesnt work...camera doesnt work...and thats sony's fault as i understand...how come other phones like samsung for example can have bugless custom roms??? im tired of this....just saying
All of you stop feeding the troll.
If he bothered to check he would have found that there are more Samsung devices than Sony with the U8500 chipset, so if he so want the source for this chipset, so he can go and get the sources from Samsung, or try to and see what he get.
