After you change that file you will get new options on network settings.

I want to turn my x10 into a wifi mp3 player. There is no sim card inserted. I don't want bars to show. Basically how an ipod would be to an iphone.

You can do this by some cosmetic and some functional changes.
For example:
You can edit the framework-res.apk and replace all the images related to radio signal bars and G/3G/H symbol with a transparent 48x48 icons.
That way you won't see anything related to network.
Then, you can turn airplane mode off, that should do it.
Also, freezing the Phone.apk with Titanium backup should block everything making X10 a phone.
That's alot of work... Is there a more simple way?

Seriously...?
If you want the icons removed you need to edit the framework,
since it was designed to display those icons, because this is a PHONE.
And by freezing the phone process you ensure that the phone will no longer function as one.
If it's too much trouble, just turn on the airplane mode already and start playing music!
Jeez!
How would I edit the frame work?

Not since 2.1, but there's also a free app in the Market called "Airplane WiFi" that will make it stick.

Have altered wi-fi settings to no power save and will see how it goes. Have already changed browser to chrome and no difference.
Will flash only if I have to as Samsung are monitoring changes to this phone so may affect warranty in future.

It is just on wi-fi. It has been fixed by changing the power save to off in the phone settings menu but have noticed the battery drain already so would like another option to try.
I am looking for the system.db on my droid dna . I cannot seem to locate it. I am trying to edit this to remove the pesky WiFi notification. And yes I am rooted. Any help would be appreciated.

Um that's not what you edit to remove the wifi notification. And most custom roms that you download have the wifi notification removed already.
Go to settings>wifi turn off auto turn on , and click don't notify and you shouldn't see it anymore.
I don't believe we are talking about the same thing. I want to remove the nag from when you click the WiFi widget to turn it on instead of it opening up the screen to click the switch on.

So you want a wifi toggle switch? One that turns it on and off without the settings interface?
I just want to use the default widget which matches the other stock widgets without downloading a widget add on and yes.

Just got my 64 gb version from online order. Brand new, no rooting what so ever.
But the weather widget (on top of the blinkfeed) is not able to find location. Just says "current location".
Trying manually to refresh, it says "Unable to contact location services......" Kinda annoying.
Anyone else got this problem?
Try turning off wifi.
No no just reboot your phone silly

Did you give it time, though? I had the same thing happened, and it didn't connect until after about 30 minutes of wifi being off - both times after I set the phone up as new.

Yep I had Wi-Fi off for a long time, still would not connect.
Funny though, I downloaded the AccuWeather App and that gets a location in no time.

Tried gmap, was able to locate. But Weather Widget still can not.
Go to location settings and untick and retick all options. Then reboot. Should work

This one worked!! Thank you very much!! :good:
Thank you all for your input!!
To everyone who uses Safestrap, how did you get 4G LTE working?
I downloaded the ME7-modules that allows you to use Wi-Fi, but for some reason I'm only getting 3G.
Any help is appreciated.
Works fine on mine. Maybe try wiping everything again like 3 times, install rom, install modules, then wipe cache and dalvik again, then fixing permissions. Give that a shot.
Hey by the way, does your home button work with these new roms?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Tried that, didn't work unfortunately.
And which ROM? I've flashed two and the 4G has not worked in either, but the home button worked in both.

This is a ROM specific feature. I found a toggle that allows me to wake the device in the ROM settings. Check there.
Also, my issue was resolved by enabling LTE in the network settings.
