Excuse me I have a question

Hacked must be bootloader - not OS. Actually WP8 phones have secureboot.

No.

Counterquestion:
What is the aim of using such big letters? Poor eyesight?

Windows Phone 7.x is CE kernal based; Windows Phone 8 is NT like Windows 8. Microsoft has plans to introduce Windows 8 Phones in the near distant future. The HTC Titan I (Eternity) was the last Windows Phone that the bootloader could be HSPL, nothing since has been successfully "hacked," though there is some talk the Huawei model has made some progress towards that goal. My only beef with the HTC Titan are the mobile data speeds seem to be throttled at Cat 8 not Cat 10 and Skype not being able to run in background; other than that, I'm happy with the device.

Why would you want to and this belongs in q&a, general or heck even in the Galaxy Tab forum...

Windows NT is what most of the Windows versions that we care about today are based from, including XP and 7. Windows NT supports the x86 and other processor architectures. Unless we can get an x86 emulator, we will NEVER EVER see Windows 7 running on an ARM processor. It is also closed-source, so we can't get the source code to compile to ARM. And the documentation for the kernel and other components of Windows are secretly kept somewhere at Redmond, so even if we get the source, it will be an infinite pain to get everything working for this new architecture (things like HAL, hardware abstraction layer, which is specifically for PC hardware and who Windows depends on heavily). I can't begin to explain everything that will need to be magically fixed in order to get working. Windows 7, or any other Windows version, will never work on a platform that it was not intended to work on (unless, we do get a virtual machine and some hardware compatibility)
Windows CE will be much easier to port since it was intended for mobile ARM computers. If this does happen, we can get Windows Mobile working. But all of this crap is completely non-public, so keep dreaming.
*I probably didn't get everything in this post correct (like the part about HAL) but the conclusion is completely correct. Basically Windows 7 will never reach a device unless it's a PC.
You mean the actual OS or just the theme? There are Windows 7 themes already for Android. And yeah, why would you wanna bother putting Windows on an Android device?
o cool like the title said just a thought but why i would want it on our device is becuase it looked cool running on the tab so and i like windows so i would probably enjoy it

Dude, seriously you should've just bought a Windows phone like an HD2 or something if you like windows that much.
I mean personally to me, the whole point of buying an android phone is to NOT have a Windows OS or even a Windows GUI..........just sayin.

maybe it is just me, but dual-booting was still cool in 1999, not anymore.
Stick to one OS on the device, be it a PC or a phone.
Last time I cared for Windows was again 1999 when I used UPS software to send the packages, and wished it was upgraded from Windows 3.1 to at least Windows 95 - and then I went to continue my education, and it was the end of the windows era for me
If you want to use both windows and android, why not get an HD2 and have it dual boot?
I'm pretty sure if you saw Windows 7 on the tab then it was probably some kind of remote access software, and not running natively
This may sound like a weird question, but I am just curious to know if it is possible to install windows 7, or xp on Galaxy tab 10.1. As my limited knowledge about computers tells me, GT is essentially a computer with a cpu and ram and a kind of hard drive, so theoretically at least, it seems to me that it should be possible to install windows on the tablet.

Welcome to the forums. The answer is no. Windows won't run on the chip that's in the tablet (it's called ARM architecture; same reason windows won't run on a cellphone). I've heard rumors that windows 8 may be possible at some point.
I have Windows 7 on my Tab 10 so yes you can use Windows 7.

You have the install disc sitting on your Tab?
Seriously, though. That sounds like horse**** from the same guy who claims to have played with Kal-el devices. Let's see a video.
How's this?
Splashtop HD running my home computer from work.

Excuse the fumbling. It's hard to work the screen looking at the phone screen. And I should mention that we only have an 802.11g connection here at work.
Thank you Jay Evans for proving them wrong.
Well, holy hell! That means I have OS X Lion running on my Tab.
Thank you for the replies. Although I understand that some of us here might be in a rather humorous mood, but just to clarify: my question was not about remote desktops. I still think there has to be a way to have windows running on GT. Another question in this regard is about virtual machines. Is there any kind of VM available for honeycomb tablets?
While it might be possible you wouldn't enjoy the results. Especialy if you want to run actual programs on it. It would be as slow as molassas and suck the battery dry in no time.
Better to buy a Win 7 tablet and wait for something like Bluestacks to run Android or wait for the ARM version of Win 8.
It won't happen, Windows is based off x86 architecture and Android Tablets and phones are based off of ARM architecture, Windows 8 will have support for ARM though, so wait a year
While the answer to your question is still 'no', it is possible to run Windows 95 or 98 using emulators. There is a QEMU port for Android ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6661598 ) that does it, and I've also heard that you can install windows using AnDosBox.
I just want to ask you if, now that the bootloader can be unlocked, there are some possibilities to have win on this tablet... all the version are acceptable.. (2000 and upper) if there's not an emulator, are there chance of do it in the near future?
I've seen the page where is explained how to install 2000/XP on the htc evo3D, could it work also whit the transformer?
Your best hope is for Windows 8 which will support ARM processors. All windows version currently available do not support ARM. Also once windows 8 comes out it will require some development to get it to work.
You can have Windows 3.1 running on it now with DOSbox
But I really don't think that any version of Windows will ever work on the TP (although with XDA devs who knows?). The only Arm-based windows available are Windows CE and Windows 8. CE will never work outside of emulators, and MS has said themselves that they will not be supporting any kind of x86/64 emulators in order to run the 99% of Win software available today. So you will be stuck with what software devs decide to port or write from scratch.
Also, MS has said that it will not be selling licenses to end users. They will only be released on hardware. Doesn't mean someone won't pull it off of there and tweak it, but it is not going to be available like XP/ 7 is.
What do you need windows for that you can't do on Android or Ubuntu?

No one interested in porting Windows Phone 7.x to the Dell Streak?
Trigger for me is the perfect working port on the HTC HD2, where both Android and Windows Phone 7.x are running. On this phone the Windows Phone version realy runs smoothly, far more better than the Android version.
My conclusion would be that since Android run smoothly on the Dell Streak, Windows Phone should really fly on our device!
So, is it (im)possible?

it is not that we dont want to port.. but the thing is no working driver for streak 5... so... you have to understand this...
Well, was worth to try. Just couldn't imagine the impossibility since the HTC HD2 is able to run both. But the lack of working drivers is indeed a valid point. Well, I'm happy with my DSC 1.4 on my streak, so sticking on this version.

I like your post! I was a die-hard "win-mo" every since my first htc tilt. But when the tilt-2 whipped my รคลก$ after 3 replacements I swore off and went to "Stepford Mens Association" and was cloned into an android and loved it every since! Never in a million megabytes had one decimal of interest in crapple phonage. But would like to see your idea in action. Cool !

you cant compare device that come from default windows vs native android you know... there also licensing issues might surface up whenever we involve ourselves in windows product you know.. that includes the driver.. you know those giant really have no mercy if it does not profits them :silly:
Hahahahaha......when you post the rom then microsoft will send you a legal letter.

Licenses are the least of the issue, it's all drivers.
The HD2 and the tsunagi are the only non WP7 devices to get WP7, do you want to know why? Because microsoft and HTC/Toshiba made the drivers as those were the devices they used when they were initially building WP7.
The HD7 is basically a HD2+WP7, but they're different enough that the HD2's cam still has issues (or so I hear).
The only (realistic) way you're going to get WP7 at this point is to build a time machine and go back and convince dell to convince MS to reuse the S5 as a WP7 device in the same way the venue/venue pro are a pair.
Hey guys.
I have neither Windows RT device nor Chromebook but I know that both of them are based on ARM architecture. What is more, I read from news that certain developer of Google installed Ubuntu on Chromebook to enlarge the latter's offline features.
So my question is: is it possible to make a Windows 8 RT ROM for Chromebook?
It's a big challenge but will be very useful, especially for those geeks who have Chromebook and wanna try Windows.
Don't laugh if it sounds silly.
And thank your for your joining the talk.
right now, no. Later down the road?...maybe
Apparently the BIOS is a huge problem.
I heard Ubuntu runs great on it though.
Not legally... Windows RT is only being released as an OEM-install version, which means someone would have to mess around with the files that already exist on a pre-installed RT device, drivers at the present time are unable to be compiled nor installed on Windows RT due to Microsoft's adoption of the Apple ecosystem, and the bootloader would also be an issue. But, I have seen someone get the HD2 running it, it was news like a month ago http://blog.laptopmag.com/hacker-gets-windows-rt-running-on-old-school-htc-hd2-phone , but it's horribly laggy and slow.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I agree with your point. But developers are always making the impossible things possible, aren't they?
Actually HD2 isn't the only android device that can be installed Windows RT/Windows Phone 8. I saw in other forums that ZTE Blade CDMA2000 version+ (N880E) also has similar hardware environments that enables Windows Phone rom installation. So a Windows ROM for Chromebooks is worth expecting!
Yah thats right ubuntu runs good on it.Try out once!!!
Thanks for asking this question I always wondered myself too just never brave like enough like you to ask.
I don't think it's possible to install windows on Chromebooks at all. They're not very open-sourced, sort of like Apple products. You can install Linux on it though, since Chrome OS is Linux based.
