[q] amaze unbranded cuts off after tmobile flash - HTC Amaze 4G

OK so i was trying some stuff on my unbranded international version htc amaze and i think u caused problems. I was intrested in rooting the device so i can flash custom roms, little did i know the process was more than just unlocking the bootloader and installing a recovery.
I was stuck at the htc logo and the only fix for the problem was to reinstall a Tmobile GB rom since there was no rom for unbranded version. The install was completed and the phone booted, but after doing this the phone cuts off all the time during regular use. How can i solve this problem? Is there any way to flash the stock GB rom that comes with this version?.

What could be to the phone if there is no service when on custom rom?

Hi, I have LG P500 Optimus one. I recently have rooted this phones and installedClocworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0. The thing is, then i install custom rom there is no service on my phone. When I restore origina one everything is good. So what's wrong? I install roms as written ( I try to choose those, which are simple to install) and "No Service".

It could be possible that the ROM also includes a radio that is not compatible with your service provider. Although mosts ROM's do not include a radio, there are some that do.
Or you could require a specific radio for the rom to work. Read further into the thread for whatever rom you're trying to flash.

I am totally new in this business so how to tell if my phone support old baseband or new baseband? Then I bought it it was froyo 2.2.2 i dont remember the software version now, and į upgrade it to gingerbread? Can an update cause my this problem?
Probably need to find a rom that is made for gingerbread. Depends on device how many you will find. You find what radio your using in settings/about phone. Also they have reverts for some phones to get back older radios, opening up more rom possibilities. Hope that's helpful.-B-rye

I accidently formatted my MicroSD card and I lost nand Backup of my original rom. Now I can't use my phone and in settings present rom says: Baseband Unknown
Thanks for support and help. I installed ROM openOptimus as I recall, and it vased on 2.3.3 and and now i got signal!

[Q] Custom kernel --> No sim card / emergency call only

Hi everyone,
My first foray into android world... and thanks to xda, managed to flash ICS Rom (official 4.0.4, global) on my Neo, root it, get ClockWorkMod installed, unlocked the bootloader, flash custom kernel (Alliance Kernel with OC up to 1.8 Ghz)... the problem is... my sim card is not recognized (can only make "emergency call")...
I tried the following:
- Relock bootloader using .ftf for Xperia phones... phone won't boot with flashed custom kernel
- Reflash stock ICS baseband only... no luck too...
Another problem: on custom kernel, phone won't properly run... stuck at setup screen (either ends in blank screen, or loop through it)... though strangely... on my very first attempt, it was running OK (can use phone normally aside from the "No sim card / emergency call only" problem)...
Quite badly want the 1.8 Ghz OC from Alliance Kernel... but useless if can't use phone to call...
Any help would be much appreciated... Thanks!
Unlock your phone.
Flash the stock ROM.
Then check weather Sim is working or not.
Hope this will work.
Bad news I'm afraid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27150656

@svprm: no problem in getting sim to work with stock rom again... but I wanted to get the custom kernel with stock rom... any clue?... or custom rom is the answer I'm looking for?
@mpiekp: it's fine for me... I simply relock the bootloader, reflashed stock rom, re-root, and sim card is usable again... just no custom kernel with OC.
If custom rom with OC built-in the answer I'm looking for?... know a good one for that? (I know there are several, so will give it a try)...
Thanks guys!... any further clue to get stock ICS working with Night Elf's Alliance Kernel would be great...
I had this problem one time.
First i upgraded my baseband to latest version.
Then stock one and then Custom rom.
Try it.

Did you meant, "latest baseband --> stock rom --> custom kernel?"... or simply "latest baseband --> stock rom --> custom rom"... and that will get me an overclocked Neo with SIM/radio/GSM properly working?
Latest one is on this thread?... 72?

Thanks again!
Your device may have got sim lock certificate. Use S1 tool and click restore button. This will remove that certificate.

Thanks for your reply. I'm able to use the sim card with no problem on stock ICS ROM. Only when I flash custom kernel the device says "No sim card"...
That said, I got me S1Tool and connected my Neo (stock rom, stock kernel) to it. Here's the screenshot...
(malware link removed by admin)
So, should I 'Restore' using S1Tool after I have the OC_enabled custom kernel (thus, "no sim card")?... any risk of hard-bricking my phone here?
Thanks again!
Restore won't brick your phone.

Undoubtedly, s1 tool will not brick your phone!! Try it

OK. So, I tried unlocking my bootloader again (using fastboot and official unlock code from Sony)... flash custom kernel (Alliance, with overclock up to 1.8 GHz)... and use S1Tool... unfortunately, clicking 'Restore' said, "There's nothing to restore"... or something like that...
Still can't get a custom kernel to work properly... :-(
Now go back to post three and read that whole thread, if restoring the trim area doesn't fix it you will need a boot repair. Bootloader lock and sim lock are separate, you have no issue on stock because that's what your meant to have, but custom kernel/ rom will lock up.

Guess I'll have to make do with custom rom and kernel then... thanks everyone!
Hello,
Could you solve your problem?
I have a similar problem with a T-mobile Galaxy S2

[Q] Help! htc Amaze stuck at htc boot screen

For the past week or so, I have been looking through this forum and looking for a solution. I have tried many but all have failed. I tried to flash the custom rom Energy but it won't load. I originally had stock Wind ICS rooted using hasoon's all in one tool.
EDIT: I fixed my phone by flashing a kernel but I don't understand why that worked. I was trying random stuff. If possible, can someone explain this to me why this might have fixed it?
Are you s-on? If so then that is why. If you are s-on then you need to be using 4ext recovery with smartflash enabled. Using any other recovery will not flash the kernel when you flash the Rom unless you are s-off

if you are s-on i would recommend that you s-off your phone and supercid it so u can use the t-mobile roms, but yes you should be using 4EXT if you are S-ON to flash roms, if your stuck at the boot screen as long as you can get into recover there is hope.. just flash a different rom or relock ur bootloader and return to stock following one of my posts in this section about returning wind mobile to stock, if you need any further help just let me know

I guess it's because you're lacking the ics firmware.. Flash a GB rom then you'll have a working rom.. You can't flash any ICS, JB rom without upgrading to ICS firmware.. Refer to AJ's ics upgrade thread in general section if you're feeling like upgrading your firmware from GB to ICS

[Q] Stock based ROMS

Question, when a stock based ROM says based on x.x.x.x.x_Retail_EU or AU, do you have to flash that regional version?
Just curious, always had a problem with my stock, and any stock based ROM's on my XT910, BMM always lights up the LED red..
I advise trying ss (safestrap) i find it to be easier to install. And use that's just my personal preference it might be cause your looking for stock rom that's why the regional. Verizon matters.
Try using safestrap and install a stable custom. Rom. Example is cm stable version and see whats going on should fix. Good luck

Thanks for the reply.
Bought the phone used for cheap, Rogers, and when i got it it always stuck at the rogers logo, booted fine in BP HW diag + AP mode though, got it once or twice booted to root it, and install BMM.
Maybe one day I'll see if i can flash the verizon stock on and use SS.. since I see quite a few use that one.

Installing custom ROM on Asian Amaze/RUBY

First to clarify, i have an "unbranded" (asian) HTC Amaze (which is also known as HTC RUBY).
I'm on stock ROM 2.3.4 and it is un-updatable officially.
So... I unlocked my bootloader, then i installed 4EXT recovery, then i S-OFFed my device (which somehow locked my recovery again), then i rooted it.
Now, when i flash a custom rom (Cyanogenmod JB 4.1.2 official), it gets stuck on the boot screen (the rotating cyanogenmod logo).
I have backed up my rom in the recovery, so i can restore it and get back to where i was.
Basically i want to know what I'm doing wrong or if I've missed an step.
I haven't Super-CID it yet, is it really necessary? And i also can't seem to update my hboot, but isn't 4ext supposed to do that for me?
You forgot to install the ICS firmware. You can't install an ICS ROM while on Gingerbread. You need to first upgrade to ICS, then you may start flashing ROMS.
This thread has it, and all of what you need.

Oh... So according to the article, i just download that ROM, rename it to PH85IMG.zip and flash it via bootloader.
After that i should be able to install any ROM i want right? Including the Cyanogenmod JB 4.1.2 one?
----
Oh and just to update, I've also updated my bootloader to the latest 1.93.2222 one. Working all fine.
I've also run the SuperCID batch script, and it seemed to work, but It isn't showing any CID status on my bootloader. Maybe it will once i flash the ICS ROM on it.
HURRAY! It worked. I'm using the T-Mobile ICS ROM right now without any issues. I think I'm going to stick with this for a while before i try the Cyanogenmod 4.1.2 one.
Thanks a lot Afnan dude, your one short reply was enough to solve my issue. Haha
