Hello All,
I have a HTC desire V smartphone. I bought this phone on 15th August 2012. On 21st August 2013 my softkeys have started troubling me (sometimes it was working and sometime it was not functioning). So, I made a call to the HTC customer care and they asked me to do a hard reset from settings. I did factory reset from settings but still the issue was not solved. Again I made a call to HTC and this time they asked me to do reset using hardware buttons. I did factory factory reset using hardware buttons and this time my softkeys totally stopped working. Cant do anything Pls help me guys. I don't know whether this is a cause due to My Android OS or Hardware issue. HELP ME OUT GUYS..
PS: I did not do any rooting. Did not do any OS upgrade.

Hi,my name is moreno and i'm writing from italy.
This evening my hd2 is blocked.
Restart for 3 times, the O.S is working but don't take the touch of my fingers.
So I make for 4 times a hard reset, starting with "volume up and down pressed".
But nothing better.
At the end,i take the official rom for hd2 on the HTC site.
Nothing changed.
The O.S seem working, but the touch don't take the contact with my fingers.
You must know that the problems started when i was workin with android on sd.
PLEASE...have you idea?
(really sorry for my bad bad english)

Are you serious?
Do you know this problem?
Is it a problem oh harware or software?
No chance to help?
Is it a problem that they take in warranty?
If you've hard reset then your only possibility would be a task 29 before reflashing - though I think a hard reset all but does the task 29... If that's the case you have a hardware failure that happened to coincide with your Android use.
hey folks,
I have just bought my razr from amazon.de /germany.
I powered up the phone, seems ok. i even did some phone calls.
However i just realized that the Camera is not working by clicking on the Camera icon in main screen. I didnot try it with 3rd. party programs.
I searched issues on the forum and even tried also.
(wipe clean and hard factory reset, etc.)
Unfortunately, nothings changed. still says: unable to initialize...
Please give me an advice?
What should I do?
I have the opportunity to send it back to Amazon.de within 14 days after purchasing.
I hope you decide to send it back - defective camera.
Hey folks again,
I have claimed to Amazon.de regarding above mentioned camera problem.
They pleased me firstly to force hard reset then install the latest software again.
I can handle the hard reset but where is the latest Software?
How can I find it?
pls help me...
Hey metin,
Returning the defective unit and getting a new one would the wisest decision.
Hi, please in case I am in the wrong place do not blame at me, just inform and I'll stop to bother.
My problem:
HTC desire V bought on 2012 in Russia from offcial HTC center.
I am in Istanbul for work and my phone automatically updated software to 1.73.401.4
Since then continuous and random reboot usually when working (during the nigjht rarely happen). I already reset to factory default but no result.
Even being a total newbie I suspect there is something related to the geographycal area of phone. Am I right? Is there anything I may do to solve the issue which is creating me a lot of troubles?
Thanks in advance to all and sorry if I am wrong.
Orazio
Mine used to reboot all the time, updating to 1.73.707.1 stopped this and it's been fine ever since.
Hey bro's just today I got my new HTC one x+ and I had ordered it online so it's an international unlocked phone. The phone is on android 4.1 and sense 4+ (stock and not rooted) so I checked for software updates but it said the phone is already up to date and no updates are available , though I guess HTC has rolled out 4.2.2 sense 5 for one x+ (right ?) . Also, I've noticed the phone stays connected to WiFi and yet the pages won't load, sometime WiFi just disconnects, though the internet is working just fine on my other phone . Further the apps from play store too take a butt load of time to start downloading and often get stuck midway while downloading. So guys would u suggest to get the phone checked up at HTC for manufacturing defects Or have some of you faced similar problems but have rooted and used custom Roms (if so which ?) to solve it. My phone isn't in for hardware warranty and I'm sorta noob at this stuff so please take this into consideration too. I'll be really grateful for your help
My advice will be basic but may be efficient:
Have you tried to factory reset your phone? If you bought a used or refurbished device, this may help.
I'm from Europe and have an unlocked version and can confirm that the update finished rolling out early September + I never experienced any of your problems.
You would also check if you have those download problems on both Wi-Fi and 3g. If so, this may be a hint of some sort.

Hello everyone!
I just bought a real oldie - a HTC Shift X9500.
I owned one back in the days, and still remember it fondly. So I jumped at the bargain of getting another one for just 30 euros.
Unfortunately, this one's physical keyboard has some keys which don't work.
I thought I might reset it to factory settings, in the hope of solving the problem.
But!
Fn+ F3 asks me to confirm (Y/N) if I want the system reset - and the Y and N keys are among the ones which don't work! So it's just sitting there doing nothing, because I can't confirm the operation.
Is there any alternative way of resetting it - like running a command line or something , avoiding the use of the keyboard for confirmation?
Thanks!
I'm not too familiar with this phone, but if the physical keys don't work then it's usually due to them being physically broken. It's a 9 year old phone after all, so I wouldn't really get my hopes up.
