Hi,
Before buying the new Z3, I was wondering if it was possible to root it? I didnt find any info on this on the net...
It runs the new android 4.2 jelly bean.
Thanks for your help guys
Hi, like you I'd like to know if this mobile could be rooted... ?
Anyone ?
---------- Post added at 09:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:11 PM ----------
I think it's posssible with SRSRoot
See : http://www.srsroot.com/supported and look for Acer Z130 (that the model name of the Z3)
Root done on my ACER Liquid Z3 with SRSRoot.
The more difficult was to install ADB driver for the phone on Win 7 64 bits.
I found a solution here : http://gizbeat.com/1273/pdanet-adb-auto-driver-for-windows/ (source XDA forums here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39247281)
Possibly yes.
Not sure. But probably it would have one as it's predecessor can be rooted. Even I would like to have an answer for this query by someone, expert in that.

Well I talked to fast, I have a problem because my apps don't recognize the phone is rooted.
I have the Superuser app in the list, no problem.
But when I launch Titanium Backup for example, it says it doesnt gave the root rights so it can't start.
Same with other apps...
I rooted the phone with SRS
Thanks for any kind help
Well even if I have SuperUser app in the list, I checked with "Root checker" and it says my phone is not rooted....
So now I have to uninstall superuser app( unroot?) and re-root the phone with another tool than SRS, probably with the one suggested kornjung

I managed to route my Acer Liquid Z3 on the second go. If you have used SRS and failed first unroot it using SRS so it thinks its not rooted.
Then select "Smart Root".
When prompted on your phone select "SuRoot" from the drop down list. Not the default.
Then select Bromir (which was the only option that I got on mine).
Using these I was successfully able to root the Z3 and then go in and delete all the crap like Facebook.apk, etc.
What I cannot figure out is how to take a damn screenshot!

Has anyone tried to overclock the cpu on this phone? Noticed any improvements?
does this work for the dual sim version, too?
and, in case, does this phone have a call filter/black list system embedded? so to block calls from specific people, or maybe block them only on one sim and not the other... or, having root thanks to the instructions in this thread, do call filter apps on playstore work? in general alternative dialers and call filter apps are very badly working on dual sim phones...
z3 duo rooted with framaroot 1.6.1... enabled usb debug ad per previous posts in this thread, and enabled unknown sources in settings, security... installed apk, opened, clicked boromir, rebooted and device rooted... no need to install driver or connect to pc AT ALL... as soon as reconnected to network, updated supersu via play store, and installed titanium... just integrated 14 updates in rom, i'm happy

Did you overclock the processor to 1.2Ghz to get that 9757 score in Antutu? Mine does not get any higher than 8834 on stock clock (1Ghz).

No. I have not over clocked. I just cleared all junk that starts up background processes, and ran Antutu on the default clock speed.

Acer Z130 Sound Quality and Loudness
Is there anyway to improve Z130's sound quality and loudness?
Despite being a device with DTS logo on it, it produces the worst audio I have ever experienced. (Both with DTS on and off.)
Is there any way to improve it?
Framaroot
I just rooted my Liquid Z3 with Framaroot last night. It works perfectly.. :good:

Hi everyone,
I am really sorry for opening a post so silly like this, but I just cant do this alone. I am having some problems rooting my LG P500.
The main problem is: I have NO idea wich room to choosse. I though about the "CosmIcEXperia". I also found one called "Z4Root" BUT someone told me that will not work because my smartphone haves the official 2.3.3. I also heard one called "CyanogenMod". But i am not sure wich one is the best.
I wanted one so I could overclock it a bit (to 700 maybe), so mainly for Games(since atm I cant aford a new phone).
Would you guys give a hand to this poor noob?

"Turn USB Debugging OFF
Click Root
When it says: Waiting for Device, Turn USB Debugging ON
It'll now run RATC
When it says: Starting ADB Server...
Turn USB Debugging OFF
Turn USB Debugging ON
Turn USB Debugging OFF
All BEFORE it says "Waiting for device..." again"
I also did this but I still get that crazy "waiting for device msg on the 7# part :/
*thanks pressed hehe*
OH YES!!! the funny part is that i hear a "tana" sound before going to the 7# hmmm but I tryed with diferent cables so... hmm

Right, i belive i was able to solve the problem by using the MSbox programm (and some lines).
Now to the rom! I choossed this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
(Mik´s CyanogenMod 7)
But I have a question...
"1. Mount /system in recovery.
2. adb shell rm -rf /system/*
You get 1 error. This is ok.
Will update if I found this bug."
What does he mean with "recovery" ? Is that when we turn off the cellphone and he says on that "safe mode" ? Its a bit hard to understand
1. If you want to understand the terms like 'recovery' and several others you will encounter then read up the dictionary thread.
2. The procedure to install custom roms can be found here.
PS: Both the above linked threads are stickies, they are always on the top of the general thread, if you had read them once you would have had all the information required.

You should have better searched for it before starting a new thread.........
As i posted previously in same thread as this, before starting exploit, you have to run some commands in ADB, as you are on 2.3.3 and then run superone click.
Its a long process. Follow this post on my blog for details, i am sure it'll work for you------http://ayushandroidworld.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-to-root-lg-p500-with-gingerbread.html?m=1

This kinda sucks. I am rebooting on recovery mod but when I see the "android image with an arrow coming out of an box" the searching bar stops 5 seconds after it starts and my cellphone reboots and it "autoinstalls" the official firmware again :| hmm (using Rom Man. to install the reboot option).

Try what I did :O
Download this: THIS!
You also need the drivers for the USB, get them here: HERE!
1° on your phone to go settings>applications>developer and activate debugging mode
2° extract root.rar and put it on your deskptop
3° Go to the ADB folder and run "cmd7.exe" (for windows 7) and the other one for xp(if you are using xp...).
4° On the CMD windows write :
adb devices
(then...)
adb shell
(then copy this, dont be scared if you see something like an "#" or "$")
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf
5° After this reboot your cellphone. Now go to theroot folder and start the superoneclick program and SELECT Gingerbreak and press the root buttom (if you have the 2.3.3 version like i had )
Then you need to wait and TANA!! It should be done
P.s.: All the files have there own owners, they take all the credit lol
Back to my problem... I tryed again using the ADB thingy etc, and I cant do it It says its read only hmm :/
UPDATE.
And I have it working lol :3 ...
It was a "line" problem, i had to write something else bla bla bla... Thank you everyone for the help

Greetings,
I have bought one cheep smartphone from china for my sister (the last two quite expensive smartphones stopped working after "diving and free falling course" . So I decied to buy for her some cheeper device. It is an Android and it looks like an samsung, but it is this phone http://www.antelife.com/htm-a9500-s...tft-screen-256mb-256mb-dual-camera-white.html .
After Avast installation a found in the system app which has root rights (It is not possible to uninstall it), which was marked as an Trojan ( Android: Agent-AXY [Trj] ). It is probably UI app, which imitate Samsung UI ( CooeeUI launcher (version iLoongS4vHD2.1.0.10.11138.130628 ).
I tried to root it using framaroot (On my phone framaroot was working well), but app displayed a notice with message "It is probably not possible to root this device with framaroot" or something like that and the app closed itself.
I found one other sw on this page (here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403230&page=3 ), but I'm worry to try it after reading the last post because of malware infection risk (I really don't want to send somewhere to China IMEI and whatever else...).
Here I write some details about SW and HW of the phone:
Model: GT-A9500
Core version: GT-A9500 Quad-Core ( :fingers-crossed: )
Software version: MT6589-C920-EN-V08
Hardware version: C920-V1.02
Could I ask somebody for help? Is there any exploit for this phone or any other possibility to root it? I would need kick this china apps off this phone.
trojan removing
Is there any way to remove infected UI launcher without root rights?
I may be able to help you get it rooted. Search play store for SRT Appscanner and install it. Then run app and see if either bug listed says vulnerable.

Open a command prompt in the folder you have ADB.exe in and check to see if ADB is seeing your device. ( do this by opening the folder adb.exe is located in then press and hold shift key and right click on the white space at bottom of folder, then select "open command prompt here". Type:
adb devices
in to the black command prompt and hit enter, see if it shows a device listed under Devices attached.) It shouldnt take more than a minute to complete so I would say make sure USB debugging is on and make sure the PC can see the phone via adb since that is what Impactor uses to root the phone (like lost other root exploits too actually)
Also - you need to leave Snap pea window open for adb to work, I dont know why but even though it installs adb driver for you, you need to leave the snap pea window open or it wont see phone in adb.
Hope this helps!
USB debugging is checked and I leave Snap pea window open. If I try to close it, connection with the phone get lost and Cydia Impactor display an error message. If I leave the Snad pea open, C Impactor works, but after more than 10 minutes I see still only Testing #.... Is there some chance to root this chineese **** od should I use it as an hammer?

Hi,
A thread has been created and was deleted.. so, as I tried it out, here are the steps..
Disclaimer : I m not responsible and report what has been working for my case which was as well leading to no data lost, no wipe so far.
Note : Having an alternate recovery (TWRP instead of 3e) would avoid a successfull any future phone update done through the menu. Updates will then have to be pushed with SP_Flash_Tool
Thanks : doogeemobile.com / original xda thread by gramolitero
What could be needed : -> Same tools and steps as the Doogee X5, except the Scatted for MT6735 and recovery.img files.
SP_Flash_Tools and Doogee X5 procedure
TWRP Recovery file, in English
+ Attached Scatter for Mediatek MT6735
- Optional- Doogee X5Pro Rom
Steps :
- Download/Unpack FlashTools, run Flash_tool.exe as an Administrator
- Select "Download Agent" and input MKT_AllInOne_DA.bin
- Select "scatter-Loading" and search MT6735_Android_scatter.txt
- Select "Download Only"
- Uncheck all boxes
- Checkmark and change the path of recovery file to be replaced.
- Make sure the connection is made through USB in the options (See screenshot)
- Turn off your phone, remove the battery and replace it after some seconds (and don't turn on the phone).
- Press “Download” button to start and connect your phone into the computer via USB data cable.
- The process will start and a red progress bar will appear after color purple, yellow.
- And green circles in a new window is then displayed.. -> OK
- Finish !

Once this recovery has been done.
- Boot the phone with Power and Vol+ simultaneously.
- Select "Recovery" with VolUp key, validate with VolDown key.
- Plug the phone to the PC, and drop the BETA-SuperSu.v220 on the SD Card
- Install SuperSU then reboot.
The phone is now rooted.. place to Xposed, or any apps through the TWRP recovery.

why is no custom rom for this phone. . .so sad -_-
Hold your horses boys. It's a new phone so it will take some time until there is a custom ROM.

Does the twrp recovery actually work. I've flashed it to my phone and it doesn't work. Has anybody got any other links. Also the website where the recovery file is linked is blocked by windows
Worked perfectly, thank you!
If this helps anyone, I had issues getting the drivers installed, I followed this thread here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180436
It kept appearing and disappearing in Device manager, just click it as soon as it appear and then install the drivers. If it disappears it does not matter at that point

Most of the files are missing/Links broken at doogeemobile.com/blog/doogee-x5-phone-root-guide.
I'm not sure where I first saw about this app, but I ended up at:
kingoapp.com
Now I ran into another site:
kingroot.net
because I couldn't download the PC version of KingoRoot from the first link. Both links look to be 2 different companies, so which is real, which is fake, or neither or both?

There is no real or fake rooting app. KingRoot and KingoRoot are two different softwares to root Android. Both are genuine and may be safe to root your Android. I used KingRoot app to root my two android phones and never bricked.
hmm, u wouldnt know offhand one that would do an Alcatel OT Elevate 5017B would u? havent had any luck w searching..
Alright been a few days since I rooted with KingRoot from the kingroot.net website. Did a factory reset, no problems yet. Phone still acts sluggish and retarded. Tried experimenting with some features in ROM Toolbox, i.e. MinFree Manager, and any changes I make arent sticking. Do I need that KingUser app to give things root admin access? Downloaded the app on G Play that said KingUser and it was just a big ad that filled the screen. I take it the real .apk is on one of those mirror sites in google search? with the 5.0.X versions. At work now and those websites are blocked.
I used kingroot on modern stuff, Kingoroot on my SM-T800(Samsung Galaxy Tab S 16gb - WIFI only model)
both worked fine, I dont use the PC version of Kingroot, it has a tad bit o malware/bloatware with it, use the APK version instead

Yeah I downloaded the apk from kingroot.net and used it a few days ago. Then I searched and found KingUser 5.0.4 and ran it, which seems just be an addon to KingRoot? I tried searching for some good performance settings for ROM Toolbox to tweak the kernels available to change to settings on (interactive and ondemand), but all I find are apps to download or kernels to flash. I dont want to do any flashing of any kind just yet. Know where I can find kernel values for performance?

to my knowledge changing kernel values can only be done during compiling, if you mean like power use states etc try kernel adiutor

I used kingo root on sony xperia z2, and rooted phone via pc application in 3 minutes and 2 clicks... I, who knew nothing about rooting did it without mistake with that app... i suggest it.

when I say kernal values I mean .config style, like...
CONFIG_TUN=y
CONFIG_PPP=y
CONFIG_PPP_BSDCOMP=y
CONFIG_PPP_DEFLATE=y
CONFIG_PPP_MPPE=y
CONFIG_PPPOLAC=y
but for kernel settings like frequencies n power options kernel auditor will do the job
Ok I'm wondering if maybe the root wasn't 100%, cause I'm still having problems updating kernel settings, or CPU settings, or MinFree settings. I deleted ROM Toolbox and got Kernel Adiutor, and then I deleted the BusyBox app that ROM Toolbox prompted me to download, and downloaded the BusyBox app that Kernel Adiutor prompted me to download. Now, when I go to say, CPU under Kernel on the categories on the left, sometimes the settings I changed are saved, sometimes not. Same for CPU Hotplug and GPU. And I never get any confirmation that it's been changed, even though Toast is turned on in the Settings. Any ideas?

I am not a fan of KingRoot at all. I just feel that it's just ends up being more work that I feel is necessary.
There are individuals who have success with the app but, I've seen too many individuals who have had so much trouble with it not providing a proper root of their device.
I, personally, use the Wondershare PC software for obtaining root successfully and, when it's done, it also installs SuperSU, purely, for root management.
That's what I recommend using. It has a free trial period too. I ended up purchasing it because I just love the software and all the other features, besides rooting, that it offers.
Peace and Love!

Hi everyone i recently bought an X96Q tv box with the allwinner H313 proc. 2GB/16GB rom Android 10.
I am not pleased with its stock rom. to many lags, if i link my G acc and make the updates all the apps stop working or crashes. the netflix app is ancient but its the only thing that is working so i'm searching for something alternative like a LineageOS or anyother. i installed the atv launcher but it still sucks cause of the rom....
i searched everywhere for a h313 compatible rom but with no luck. Is there anyone that could help me?
Thanks in advance
@speedakis your post is fairly new if the purchase is the same send it back. I saw a review comparing that chipset against the H616 saying the latter fixed many of the overheating issues present in the x96. if it's still possible send it back.
unless a dev buys a box and makes it a personal project I don't think we'll see custom roms or a recovery. these aren't popular enough devices to have attracted support.
As attachment there is image with magisk included.
This device is compatibile with other TV BOXes with Allwinner H616 SOC, for example Tanix TX6s - I have tested this rom with success. Bootloader button is hidden inside AV port.

Device is rooted by default and there is SU binary in rom.
To force device to installing image from img file you need run ADB command:
su
reboot efex
Software to flash image is PHOENIX Suite.
after upgrade storage become only 4.7GB.
Help me please

I do the su
and
reboot efex,
but after I can't flash on PhoenixSuit because it is not detected on that mode.
What should I do?
EDIT: I've managed with PhoenixUSBPro
The same thing has happened to me, the image works but it does not have root, several attempts by adb if it has a su file, but it is not operational and the entire image is denied access.
Well with the magisk manager application I have got root and adb fastboot NDK module.
Hi, Im a newbie here. I have this TV box x96Q_max_ pro and I want to know how to root this device. TIA.

How to root with the magisk manager?
I recently bought a 4GB/64GB X96Q device. It was delivered with an older ROM that had quite some problems. Netflix for example did not work at all and video playback did suffer from lag and stutter.
After I performed an OTA update the internal storage is only 8 GB and one of the USB ports is no longer functioning. After I complained about these problems and mediation of AliExpress the seller was forced to pay me a 50% refund. In the end I only payed €10,24 for the device.
After I flashed the ROM from the link in this topic the device is working much better. Both Netflix and video playback work fine now. I only use the device as a network/DLNA and Netflix player and do not need the internal storage (8 GB is more than enough) and USB ports. There may be much better devices but in this price range the X96Q offers quite a lot of value for money.
can anybody help me how to do a shortcurt in this motherboard?
Is it able to change the launcher and manage some apps with the custom rom ????
You can use any launcher you like.
I currently use a custom version of the ATV Launcher combined with a custom wallpaper.

Good afternoon friend. Sorry for my English, I'm Brazilian ...
I found nothing more than this topic about the X96Q as it is a new box, and I also found the standard rom very weak. Could you ask me a question about the exchange?
Do I execute the command via ADB, disconnect the box and then connect it again to recognize it in Phoenix? It's the first time I've done the process, sorry if it's a lay question.

PhoenixSuit_V1.10 works quite easily with this box and the rom provided here. Cable usb type-A to A of course.

Do I use the latest TX6S firmware that is on the Tanix website or does it need to be a specific version?

Well obviously on Tanix website is an "official rom" with no root. The rom in the thread is rooted. With PhoenixSuit_V1.10 you can upgrade the rom without formatting which is a plus.
