Hey guys, Colby here, with a fix for the random reboots. If you are like me, this issue has been plaguing you for 3 weeks, and has almost caused me to chuck my phone off of a bridge and into the Columbia River. I was searching around the forums, and even posted a thread on it, to no avail. Then it hit me. These issues have something to do with data/cell phone connectivity, and even after switching radio's, wiping allll the caches, and having it still reboot, there could only be 1 other outlier that could affect our service.
OUR SIM CARDS.
So I drove down to my ATT store, had them switch out the SIM (it took 2 minutes, they didn't ask any questions, guy thought it was a kernel issue since I'd overclocked to 1.3ghz. Sometime's it's nice meeting a sales rep that knows how to root phones, isn't it?) and for the past 24 hours, my phone has not rebooted ONCE.
I need more people to try this so that I'm not some statistical anomaly, but this worked for me and I have a gut feeling that it will work for you too!
did your wifi work?
mine seems to reboot randomly only when i try to turn wifi on. bluetooth also broken
I've random reboots, and so on, when my atrix will come back from warranty, and i'll still have random reboots, i'll try it! (my sim card is 6 years old)
Didn't matter what I did, it always rebooted every 5-10 minutes.

Good job Motorola!
I have no Randoom Reboot from very long time with Stock Rom 2.3.4.
But this a problem of Tegra 2(Nvidia kernel also).
LG2x,Atrix and Galaxy R have random reboots.
Is this a coincidence?
hmm it's no good.. maybe some reason from motorola support?
I found the device begins to restart when I try to wi-fi enabled

It's most likely a kernel issue then. Try flashing Jokersax's kernel, it is the most stable one out there for our devices
New sim card fixed it for me too.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
and which kernel version from Jokersax or it doesn't matter?

Whatever is the newest one, depends on weather you are running CM7 or CM9
I tried jokersax's kernel but bt & wifi haven't still MAC
I did these steps:
1.
Code:
moto-fastboot flash:raw boot kernel ramdisk.img
(for joker-cm9-v3 1.0 kernel image)
2. In CWM I install beta 0.6.0 rom and jokersax gapps v12
3. Install RootExplorer and modules put to system
4. Restart device
All without SIM card
If I try turn on wifi or bt only show ask "Turn on ***?" but not restart device now.

I've been having random reboot issues for a while, sometimes it only reboots once every few days, other times it seems to happen every few hours. Played with a variety of radios and ROMs, have been using mainly 37P and CM7-RC1 lately.
I stopped down at an AT&T store and had them replace my SIM card. I'm sorry to report, it hasn't made a difference for me. Still rebooting in the same way as before, /data/panicreports logs showing a Modem IPC reset.
Unfortunately, I'm experiencing random reboots without a SIM. Happens with or without WiFi turned on. Also about to chuck this thing into the Columbia river. Any river, really...
The phone has come back from warranty. They replaced the electronical Board (i think MoBo..) and till now , 2 days without a single reboot. is so nice .
Random Reboots on my phone started when everything was stock. At this time I am running on CM9(Gook job Jokersax). Latest Kernel from Jokersax site (faux 1.45 2012-May-30, my phone is overclock to 1.45ghz). I have a new baseband as well, N_01.100.00R. And taking your advice I have drove down AT&T store and swapped out the SIM Card as well. However, My phone is still possessed by the evil of Random Reboots. It is a little better as it is not as often but equally annoying. Next I will try flashing a few different radios and update if that helps. Though, I am pretty sure it is an hardware issue. Perhaps time for a new phone.
Hmph.
Weird, I'll give it a whirl and see, have you had any further issues after some time had passed with a new SIM?
Hi to all Atrix users. I had too the problem with random reboot of the phone after unlocking bootloader, and i solve this problem easy with flashing oringinal sbf of my Atrix wid RSD Lite (i flashed O2 German 2.3.4 sbf, because my Atrix was bought in Germany), other method with changing radio, use additional programs not work for me. I hope this post will be helpful for you.
P.S. Be very-very carefully with RSDLite, it can brick your device if you use wrong SBF, or do something wrong. And sorry 4 my english, good luck :victory:

I know this thread is old. But I'm trying it. Because seriously, I just spent $120 on this phone, I have tried everything I can think of to fix this problem, and I am SERIOUSLY ready to trash this phone. In which doing so would bring me to tears but I love this phone lol. So if this works for me, I will be so ecstatic you would not even believe.
Hi,
I've a problem with my LG optimus net p690.
Sometimes it crashes and says "Crash! Please get Ramdump!" I will remove the battery and re-insert it and it starts working. But it happens atleast 4-5 times a day. It will not happen for a specific application or something like that, it will when am listening to music, when i recieve a call/sms, while charging and even when kept idle.
I did factory reset a lot of time but no luck. It will happen in all the ROMs including stock rom. I even restored it to stock rom by kdz updater but still had no luck.
Any help regarding this?
Thanks

Have you tried to do an full restore or a full wipe? Flash another ROM maybe soves the problem. RAMDUMP, maybe is caused by an app. The app stays in the memory and don't get out. That's it.
wiped cache a lot of times

Yup, I did it every time when I changed the ROM.
It started even before I root the phone. But after wiping cache also same thing's happening

nik263, i went to service centre and they replaced some part and returned it tome. they took only an hour to replace the part. LG knows about the issue andd they are working on it. as a temp workaround they are changing that part. after they replaced the part drastically it came down. earlier i used to get it atleast 5 - 6 times a day now only once in a day i am getting it.
I get it very often. Unfortunately sometimes during phone calls. I can reproduce this issue whenever needed by switching on the radio while the music player is already running. BAD!!!

bud, goto service center and they will replace a part (didn't get a hint what they replaced) and will return it in couple of hours. after replacing it also am getting it but it is drastically reduced, now am getting may be once in a week or 10days. thats the only solution
But now my phone is rooted and have custom rom flashed. I was in an impression that they will not consider it for warranty. I do not have my original rom;s backup. How did u manage?

LG optimus P690 crash
Hi All,
Even I am getting that crash. I was trying to downlaod files via bluetooth yesterday, though the space in the SD was low.
It was a whole lot of memory, alteast larger than the space left in the SD.
When I took a look at it, it was sort of off.
Then I have to take the battery out and the I restarted it.
Even then it was getting off, just after I am getting the display screen.
This is happening since yesterday, and I have already switched off my phone for around 15 times.
I could see that there is less than 100 MB left on the SD card.
What I observe is that only if the SD card is getting loaded in the first few minutes, my phone is crashing. and if it is not loading I could work on it for some time.
Please figure this out and let me know
Thanks in advance,
Ravi

LG-P760 stock Android 4.1.2
Only basic apps, FB, gmail etc.
1. Factory/hard reset
2. Works around 3-4 days perfectly, then starts to crash.
By crash I mean black screen, nothing helps, only battery pull.
3. After first crash, starts crashing more frequently. Happens only in standby.
Worst was today: If I start phone, log in, then it wont crash before I put it in standby. First time in standby, within 30 second, it had crashed.
twice crashed when someone tried to call me. Vibrated once, then crashed.
I would like to avoid replacing my phone.
Any ideas how to find the source of this problem? Any recommendations?

I had the same problem with Vietnam Rom and it was the baseband. I changed to the baseband from ICS from a Rom of my country so I have Vietnam Rom+Original ICS baseband and everything works well.
Thanks.
Although, I understand it mostly is problem when you have unlocked bootloader.
I am running stock everything.
And they have problem with rebooting phone, mine crashes and freezes.
Weird is that it starts around third day of normal use.
I think I have to take on a quest with a warranty. Does anyone know, can I contact LG straight without the provider, where I bought the phone?

I haven't unlocked it. The problem was the same: SOD sleep of death, when the screen goes off you can't do anything but pull the battery.
But if you can use the warranty use it. You should find the warranty info in the box to know where send it in your city.

Thanks. I will search into it. Sleep of death is new expression for me.
I only have phone, it came from relatives who threw away receipt + box.
Luckily I managed to get new receipt from provider yesterday (I dont think they usually give out receipts twice), so now I can use local warranty.
Thanks everyone for replying. I will post update when I have final solution.
Since you are stock you might want to consider flashing the kdz to see if that helps. Good luck!

I'm having the exact same issue with mine. I've heard everything from "try a different SD card" to "factory reset," and nothing seems to permanently fix the issue. What I've found kind of sort of works is just reboot it a whole bunch until it finally comes up and doesn't do it any more. From there, I'm good to go until the battery runs out or I need to reboot it because all the bloatware is causing it to glitch. This usually means that I have to reboot my device 10+ times in a row every few days. Hopefully, you found a more viable fix than this.

Hi
I managed to kind of solve this issue. Because I am not sure how, I haven't closed thread yet.
Anyway, I warranted device, they re-installed soft. Came back, same thing. After around weeks use, SOD. Factory reset. After that, things went interesting.
I tried not to leave it idle. Always had something running. I also had noticed by the time it never occurred when it was plugged in or music was playing.
One day it did it again, but I was in a hurry and just disregarded it. I did something(I was busy, maybe just plugged it in automatically?) and it came back up. It took like 10 sec for screen to start, but it did just wake up. And it haven't had crash ever since. I have no idea is this solution or is this just some coincidence and I am not keen to factory reset again, to see will it reoccur. It's my only phone
TLDR: Managed to get out of sleep of death, haven't reoccurred since.
Hi!
I'm having an issue with my Galaxy S II. Basically the phone stops responding after locking the screen. I've searched for a very long time and tried various fixes but none worked. The phone works fine until I lock the screen (doesn't matter if any pattern/pin etc. is set), then instead of locking, the screen dims and after a while phone restarts (and then sometimes enters bootloop). I've already tried changing ROMS, changing Kernels, using different chargers, different batteries, preventing phone from entering deep sleep and cleaning (inside and outside). The most strange thing about it is that it's not happening all the time, but if it happens, then the only partial fix which make phone work again is not using it at all for a few weeks. Do you know what can be the cause of this?
Thank you in advance.

It happened about ~1 year after buying the phone. I don't know if it's important but the first thing to stop working was the speaker (it still doesn't work at all). Then the issue happened for the first time. I thought it's something with my ROM so I changed it and that stopped it from happening for ~6 months. But then it started again, and since then changing ROMs doesn't help at all. Thank you for your reply.

Did you buy your phone online and from a trusted source? You seem to have a dodgy s2. Problems like this usually shouldn't occur just after 1 year.

It was bought in a retail store of a mobile operator. One more thing I forgot to mention is that bottom touch keys sometimes refuse to work. At this point I'm pretty sure it's a hardware related problem.
Two Mi A1, 1 note 9 pro, 1 Lg stylus, 1 Samsung at.
It started two days back phone restarts and goes initial factory reset. Yes all of the same day .
Tried with sim , without sim.
With google account and without google account.
With wifi and without wifi.
Hard reset many times.
Still problem. When goes to factory reset I have to setup again and makes calls or down load apps.
After 1 hour or so after locking when checked again phone back to factory reset .
Again repet same process ........
Some times not all the times when connect to charger immediately resets to factory default.
Checked with MI and samsung service they say they have not heard this issue before.
Any help ... what to do

IDK, do you buy them from the same person each time? You may wanna consider buying them elsewhere, or try to get refunded and buy another one. That's really curious...

All are from different shops, online , some of them are 3 yrs old and two new from different shops.
@Raghujadhav20
I think it's not the Android OS but the buttons. Order a back cover which basically has slots for the buttons. Thus probability of them being pressed when in jeans pocket - starting a Facatory Reset - should get reduced dramatically.

Just a thought, not a solution. Did you try without Sim, wifi, Google account, Location/scanning, BT everything off at the same time? If not, try it.
