Crazy, I love this phone, there is nothing I would change, even the lower power results in better battery.
I bought the mega for the screen, and was worried I would miss the S3, well nope, I am so happy with this phone I am not even looking at the tiny Note 3.

i will buy note3 and keep mega 6.3

Keep mega 6.3 hopefully get root soon and get note 3

I am a huge screen fan that's why I love Mega 6.3 , if by any chance I can use Galaxy gear with Mega I wouldn't opt Note 3.
But sometimes I feel that my Note 2 is way faster than Mega

I went to the AT&T store today and played with the Mega 6.3 for the first time. HOLY COW that thing is ginormous! I really did love the screen and that of course is the main reason anyone would buy this phone.
The only problem I had was that it seemed kinda laggy. It was running a store demo program that you had to exit to play with the actual device. I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
I really do want to love the Mega. I mean, I opened up a Google Play Book and it looked so beautiful reading on that massive screen. But if it is gonna be lagging, then I might have to go with the Note 3.
@Warnahly: Maybe i'll buy your Mega if I decide to go that route (if it's still around).

If they made a 6 inch note 3 I would leave the mega. Until then...... Mega is perfect for everything I do. I feel like i9200 performs better than the i9205..... weird.

Sticking with my Mega and waiting for Mega 2.

What he said!
Also, regarding day to day performances of 6.3, I can't say there is anything to report one way or another.
I'm coming from the Nexus 4, which was really smooth, and the Mega isn't as smooth but it certainly isn't a bother.
Also I don't play too much 3D games (got my PC for that ) but for example, if you go highest settings on Riptide GP 2 it is really barely playable. So that's something to know if you do like that. Maybe when and if we get CM it will get better.
And lastly, my wife got the Note 2, and damn it's small . I'm sure Note 3 will destroy the Mega 6.3 when it comes to performances, so your priorities are what matter; I read, work, browse and watch videos, so I would have nothing to gain with a faster CPU and such

High end flagship phones tend to focus on boasting rights than actually giving people what they need. Mid range phones are more value for money. Why pay for specs and features you don't need? Until I find apps that I need which won't work well with the Mega, I'll be sticking to it (until the Mega 2 that is). I change phones almost every year so I'll probably get this year's high end specs on a mid range price next year.
Note 3: £649 <-- I don't think the features/specs are more than double from what you get from the Mega
Mega: £315 <-- I can get 2 of these and still get £19 change for the price of the Note 3 (for cases or sd card)

if it comes to that we will arrange and i'll be happy to sell it ( if my dad didnt take it first )

"Returning or passing on a great phone that many and I really want, because as I was swiping my homescreen it took 0,002ms longer(lag)...."
Just puting the thought out there. Everything lags in life... I can even say that mostly for humans also...
Does the Mega lag a lot? Does it lag when opening the camera? Does it lag when opening phone book? Does it lag when opening the phone dialer/call log? Does it lag when opening messages? Does it lag when opening the Market? Does it lag when opening the music player? Does it lag when opening Settings? Does it lag everytime? Does it lag everywhere?
If someone answers YES to all those above, please let me know...

Yeah man I'll wait to see what the mega 2 is all about. The note 3 screen is too small. Also that's too much money. I would have loved a 600 chip in this phone though or at least the full 2gb of ram.

i want all of your opinions on whether or not trade my iphone 4. unloackable for the galaxy NOTE.. can you tell me how long does the battery last on your phone and if it is worth to trade it
thanks
I used to carry both an iphone and an Android phone. After getting the note, I sold my iphone and use android full time.
the battery life is fine. if you are a heavy user, carry a spare battery.
I just switched from an iPhone 4 to the Note about 2 weeks ago. I have absolutely no regrets switching. I have always had an iPhone from the first one in 2007 up until 2 weeks ago and never saw myself switching because of how the build quality of apple and smoothness of iOS was. When I used a note for the first time it blew me away the progress that android has made over the years. While I still don't think the overall build quality of this phone is iPhone status everything else is better. As far as battery goes, unless you plan on trying to go multiple days without charging then it is a non issue. It gets through a day just fine. I will say the battery life does drop faster than my iPhones did but there's really no difference to me as the note gets me through the day with plenty to spare and I charge it every night anyway. Once you get a Note you'll wonder why you used such a small screen before.
I know the screen is really small on iphone .. I used the htc titan before .. N i am thinking of trading it . For a Note but im still in doubt .. Since i am with tmobile . The internet might be the same unless i put the hack to get 4G ..
Is the camera good on the note ?

the camera is brilliant.....great pics. i take pictures and can zoom in on the smallest details of that pic and see it clearly.
The battery life won't be quite as good add your iPhone, but it will still last you through a full day. I can pull about 16 hours total with 4 hours of screen time on a charge, but I try not to look at my phone for 25% of the day anyways. The screen will make you laugh at your iPhone. The iPhone has slightly higher pixel density, but once you go Super AMOLED HD, you won't go back. The SPen also brings more usefulness than you would think. Also, with Android, even without rooting and ROMing, you can still use rings of different kings of launchers, change how your icons look, use different keyboards, and perhaps the oldest argument, view flash content.
Don't get me wrong, I like the design of iPhones, minus the small screen, and their software does run smoothly, but after 3 Android phones there is no way I could go back. IPhones are just too limited for my tastes. With my 3g, I felt like I had a nice phone that could play some cool games. With my Note, I feel like I'm carrying with a tiny computer with limitless tools at my disposal. I also like when other people pick up my phone and have no clue how to use it, but it is still way more streamlined for my own personal use than an iPhone would be.
With Android you decide how you use your phone, not Apple.

I have ALWAYS blackballed Apple for the proprietary BS... I had to bend once when my wife brought home an ipod she found. I was pretty upset that I had to deflower my xpsl702x with itunes. I am ashamed of myself for allowing this to happen, but I would have been more ashamed of myself for not following my wifes requests.
Traded my iPhone 4 for a Note and I love it
I was a die hard apple zombie.. I once believed like all others that apple would cure world hunger. I traded my iphone 4 for a Motorola artrix then a international galaxy s2 then a skyrocket and now a galaxy note.. I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW THE RAIN IS GONE..
you will love the note..

There are a lot of Note users that came from the iPhone. I havent seen any regrets so far. I too came from the iPhone 4 to the Original GS2 then skyrocket...then the Note. It just got better everytime. Some iPhone users are way too stubborn to switch but I rather have choices than to "accept" what they give me.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
alright well I'm gonna trust you guys that the camera its really good quality thats what I'm more concern on.. cuz i am a picture fanatic...i wil b trading it for the note... if i don't like it how much are the notes selling for more less any idea ??

I like the camera on this phone more than the one on my old ip4. I can't speak for the 4s, but the note has a better camera than ip4.
You also have many more options inside the camera and quick options for uploading images to various apps from within the gallery.

do you experience any lag on the note??
ii will trade it but I'm afraid the size of the screen will b too much ...
has any of you tyried the 4g hack for tmobile also?
i chickened out on getting the note when i saw the size in person..im a iphone user 4 years and omg the iphone is so small i cant go back to it too small..youll get use to the size of the note..not really pocket friendly but depends on person to person..as for battery give it time to cycle and it will improve..but battery life depends on settings/use/rooted ect.. i love my note but sadly i have another pixel issuse so this one is going back to hopeful get another one with no pixel problems.. only thing i dont like is the camera speed capture its slow for me..battery could have been a 3000mah to give it a bit extra use..sometimes it lags depends how much ram your using and crash some apps could be bugs.. im stock GB..waiting for ICS real one..dont want to install root stuff right now
i switched from iphone to and i love my note will never go back to apple. my batt life is equal to my iphone so no complaints
Do it! If you don't like it I'll happly trade you an iphone 4 32gb unlocked with ssh saved for every firmware plus an otterbox case.

Galaxy Nexus for just $50

I have an X2 that I have modded who knows how many times. Aside from the annoying locked boot loader I have really liked the X2. However I now have the opportunity to get a Galaxy Nexus for only $50 ($100 - company $50 discount). I only hesitate because I think the X2 is about a big a phone as I want & the Nexus is a bit bigger (length x width). I know its a much better phone, but once i start where will it stop? A 7in. Tab in my pocket & a Bluetooth headset? I'd like to have a phone the same size as an X2 , 4.3" (maybe bigger screen as long as the phone itself isn't bigger(width x height x thickness)with perhaps higher resolution,720x1280?, of course a faster CPU & RAM would be nice too. The 32mb on the Nexus has plenty of space. The rezound was a good size, but too thick. So what do you all think?$50 for a better but not really desired since its a bigger phone or wait untill something the size of the X2 with much better specs & not Motorola comes along?

if you want a good dev community, GET A GNEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the dx2 is good but the gnex is super sweet. the rezound is also a good choice (what i have) one of our devs cracked the RIL so we will have a full AOSP rom soon
Uh yeah.. For $50 I wouldn't be thinking twice about asking. It doesn't sound like you will have to give up the dx2, so you would still be able to go back to it if you wanted to.

fits well in the hand.
Go to a vzw store or find someone who has it and hold it for a bit.
Then also think about what it would be like to have 4.04 at the very least and you could load 4.1.1 if you want and enjoy buttery goodness and also, the screen, my god is the screen beautiful...so much clearer than x2. Amoled FTMFW

I wish they'd make bigger phones again. Make the X2 TWICE the thickness and give me a freakin battery that lasts a couple days, now THAT would be freakin awesome! to actually have a phone with sharp edges you can actually hold on to! I hate how all these phones feel the need to be stupid skinny.
I miss my big-ass analog phone that I could actually hold against my ear with my shoulder, and the ONLY thing it could do was send and receive phone calls... but it did that with MUCH better audio quality... so what if it was eight POUNDS, I could hammer freakin nails in with it and not break it. I thought the gnex was an awesome idea until I felt one in my hand. it just feels like cheap chinese garbage that will slide right out of my dry calloused hands every time I use it.
I want a phone that will break what I throw it at and not the other way around!
I'd def get the GNEX, support for the DX2 is such a small community.
For sure get the nexus! If you don't like it you can always switch back to your old phone with just a transfer of the numbers by your cell provider right? That way you can see which one you like best, play around with both ya know?

Your giving off that same bias one-sided opinion. Both devices have their own pros and cons and satisfy different needs of users. The S4 is for those who want higher performance, removeable batteries, SUPER AMOLED Display, extra storage space as apps these days seem to be taking up more and more space, featured camera, etc, while in my perspective the One is for those who want a high performance device, with a screen that has great visibility in daylight, good sounding speakers, with a really slick design. Obviously the OS's come into play too, each one offers their own feel and look.
I'm very happy with my S4. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I really value the ability to have my 64GB SD card so i can install more than just a few of my favourite apps, i have 3 batteries so as soon as one dies i can pop in one of the backups and i'm back to a full charge instantly and ready to go. I like the development of this device, and i like to have the strongest hardware with absolutely ZERO lag.
Its great that you like your One, to each person their own, but don't be immature about it and let peoples comments get to you. I gave my reasons for my choice, and you know why you purchased your device over the S4, so it doesn't really matter what anyone else has to say about it.

Please explain this "higher performance". The S4 doesn't offer any performance improvements, as a matter of fact it has a severe hindrance compared to the One due to all of the features Samsung packed in the phone. Lag lag lag.. you can read about it in just about every tech review out there
The One performs better. Period.

On Stock I would agree with that completely, but as i mentioned theres great development for the S4, and the device can OC higher. I personally choose AOKP as my preferred ROM and theres by no means any way a One could run smoother than my S4 on my current ROM. I compare it to my friends Nexus 4 which is considered to be the smoothest device out there and is said to be 100% lag free, but my S4 is just as smooth if not smoother and opens and closes apps faster. I don't care about sacraficing Sammy's features, and i use Nandroids to switch to TW when the rare occasion comes that i want to use touchwiz. Without all the Sammy junk this device is a pure tank. I havent had the slightest microstutter in the few weeks ive ran this ROM, and that's what is most important to me. I'm not saying the One is slow, but the only way this device could get any faster would be a faster processor to open and close apps just those milliseconds faster which are already practically instantaneous.
Yes but you're insinuating that somehow the S4 performs "better". I don't see where you can make that statement, when you're comparing a non-stock ROM to stock. Have you compared the HTC One on AOSP to the S4?
I doubt there would be a "higher performance" with the S4. Bottom line is there is zero advantage in performance when comparing the same set up on both.
This is a flame bait thread. I'm putting forward a motion to have this closed.

i am from Israel - i will buy the Orange version that comes with the Radio
A recent convert here!
I have to be honest, my main incentive to upgrade was the 200GB microsd promo, which I'm loving at the moment.
Other than that, I would say that you would get roughly the same experience with the V10. There are some really annoying quirks like the random bluetooth issues, or the fingerprint issue with the case. But overall, it's a great device.
I do really like the second screen experience, can't wait till we are able to customize it even more with custom ROMs.
and oh, standard 64GB internal ROM is GREAT.
How works the FM radio ? Is it working on Steteo too ?
I had a note 4 Prior to my nexus 6. Note 4 is a good phone, I just never used the Stylus and cant stand Sammy bloatware. The V10 Is my favorite phone to date.

I came from a note 4. I usually upgrade every year and both phone while fast, the v10 appealed to me in the same way my note 4 did. Speed wise my maps no longer has gps issues and my recent apps is much smoother. I do love the pen but in return you get a 2nd screen which is quite useful.
An example: I am in phone conferences for a chunk of the day and leave it on mute. When someone calls on me to speak and I have my maps on the current screen, in a panic I look for the dialer app. Not anymore, the 2nd screen instantly takes me to the dialer which is an awesome feature for me! Also the audio quality is excellent out of the headphone jack and it still has an ir blaster. Not many other phones have this many features!
So yes, compared to the note 5 which is missing an SD card battery ir blaster and a company that gives a darn about their roots, the LG v10 is the next in line.
On a side note, Samsung is considering an SD card in their s7 so the next note may be some good competition but I need 2 batteries, this dies around 1pm with my heavy use.

From someone who actively change between the Note 4 and LG V10, I will say the the biggest drawback is the battery on V10 is extremely lacking compared to my Note 4. The speed and fluidity I have to give to LG due to a lighter UI as opposed to TW. I would never get rid of either because there are days I hate the V10 and vice versa. Its situational based over anything else

Just dropped my Note 4 for this. I'm an AT&T user on the Tmobile variant. Right now I have no LTE. Once that is figured out this phone will be a lot better.
Note 4: Better battery life for me especially with kit Kat versus lollipo, better screen Blacks, better Bluetooth connectivity, better development community (FireKat and Cm12.1), spen is cool, for me the button placement is better (I'm not the biggest rear button fan) on the V10, better speaker phone, ODIN full wipes, better build quality, for me the s6 keyboard port is the best keyboard so far , youtube 2k does NOT stall , ir blaster has better directional range
V10 : more ram and not TW equals a extremely smooth device, awesome DAC for headphones, fingerprint is 1,000 times better, native 64bit android seems snappier, works better with xposed very little cpu lag, the screen is excellent overall!!! , audio playback is smooth with no stuttering like on the note4 sometimes. Screen does not overheat and dim-great job LG.
Just off the top of my end phone to phone. Both are great..
If buying today 350-400 used note 4 vs 599 V10 (free 200gb card and $100 off promo if you got in early ). I would say the V10 if you like music and xposed. No freebies..I'd stick with the Note4 till Jan/Feb.
If you can find a kit Kat device, stick with the note4 till the 820 devices come out, as the V10 will be outpaced as soon as the 820 devices are released and I assume more carriers will use the ess DAC.

anyone else find this phone boring?

Like my note 7 had so many features , such as place phone face down to silence call. Or keep phone screen on by looking at it etc. This phone just seems really barebones. Even tho it's very snappy. I think when note 8 comes around I'll switch. I wish I could get those aforementioned features

U really had to start a new thread for this? I'm guessing since the Note 7 recall, this was your only choice?

Note 7 is good for a stranded person in the middle of the woods. Bam camp fire!

G5 is also packed with features and you can also silence the call when you place the phone face down ..just sayin...
Note 7 was a great device though..
(Especially during the winter)

I like the Lg G5 massively over the note 7 just for the wide angle camera alone. Keeping the phone screen on while looking at it is possibly the worst gimmick ever.

I wish it did have the screen stay on feature when watching a video on Facebook or whatnot where you gotta move the screen once in a while to stop it from dimming. Yeah the note 7 was a failure and it also was a slow phone (Snapdragon model) but this phone having the same chip runs a lot better. Must be better optimized. The note 7 cam does beat the main cam on this phone tho, it also took HDR pics super fast. Pros and cons to everything.

No, I love the G5
Let's get this clear the G5 has the face down silence option, and if it's packed with features, u just have to look for them in the settings, and beside all that the wide angle lens is the most innovative camera feature ever on a smartphone, what would u do if u had a pixel ?
Coming from Motorola, Lenovo, and Huawei phones, and just looking at stock settings on the G5, I'm pretty impressed by what LG included. Just to be able to change global font and theme without root would've been revolutionary to me not that long ago. Granted, the LG store is relatively young/limited -and I've no idea where it will go- but it's a promising starting point. 360 wideangle live wallpaper with wideangle camera lens to make your own (eventually), drag-and-drop touch button settings, multiwindow, shortcut key commands, as small a detail as battery percentage preference... Many of these things we're used to as root mods, and in that sense they may be boring, but to have them as part of the stock basis makes me look forward to expansions of customization in the not-too-distant future, if not by LG in their store, then by the enthusiasts in this realm. It's encouraging, far from boring!
