CASUAL was almost completed, and then I got an error. My phone rebooted and I can still use it, but I still don't have root. Can someone please help me out with this?
"Downloading device's PIT file...
PIT file download successful.
ERROR: No partition with identifier "60" exists in the specified PIT."
For some reason I'm not able to put a link on here, so the attachment is the log.
Found the solution on thisthread. Should've looked around here more before I asked the question...

(i made sure to do a backup)
Let me sum up what I have done:
I've managed to follow a guide on a wiki(I lost the link however, since I ATTEMPTED to give up on this) that involved me downgrading my firmware, then do some steps to install cyanogen 1.4. Afterwards, I got to step that required me to rename some file to update.zip. I followed that step and noticed my computer didn't convert the file to a zip file(it remained as a img file) but continued anyway while finding that odd.
Afterwards, cyanogen tells me that it cannot find the zip file. I've search most of google and a bit of this site, and i've seen various solutions that failed me such as:
-renaming the update.zip to update
-using android sdk(which i have no clue on how to use)
Anyways, finding out that I was foolish to do all of this without prior knowledge, I decided to go back to my original firmware. However, on the phone's reboot, cyanogen came up again for some reason, and didn't let the update be applied.(I don't recall the error)
Anyways, I selected reboot and got to my phone's main menu then some music started playing automatically. I should note, before I did the update, I placed all of my backed up data(while still having the original copy on my pc) on my phone so it might've been some music that the original owner had. Now, on the menu, i'm getting this error "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." all the time. Since this error constantly pops up, I can't do anything.
So if you managed to read my long and boring story, let me ask one question:
How do I get my phone back to normal if rooting is impossible at this point?
First question is what firmware is your htc magic currently on? And by reading everything I guess your phone isnt rooted...

It's on 1.5 currently. Also as a little update:
I fixed the "not being able to do anything on the menu" problem by doing a factory reset. Afterwards, I learned the SDK a little bit more and have the tools, pc driver, and fastboot on my pc. However, i'm getting the error:
FAILED (remote: not allow)
Just a bump. I need all the help I can get on this one. Even a premade update.zip would help me GREATLY.
One last bump. I promise.
Hello, please help me.
I rooted my phone few months back and it was working fine.
I had the brilliant idea of trying to back everything up so i can install the stock rom to get the new 4.1.2 update on my note 2 from verizon.
I downloaded this recommended back up app that only works on rooted phones.
After i downloaded and installed, it went blank and it said i had an invalid system something and i needed to take to the verizon store.
I did that, they told me they cant help obviously because its a rooted phone
i tried following steps in installing the stock rom such as:
Getting odin:
Installing the driver:
But when i download the file from various sources and extract, it does not become a valid file name to load into odin.
I tried many roms and none of them work.
I tried extracting with 7zip win zip winrar, and nothing works.
I keep getting the file .xz
someone please help me get my phone back to work.
I cant do anything...now i get a new message saying the firware is invalid or something.
Im so desperate im not sure what else to do.
Thank you for reading this.
the .xz is fine. click on pda, then click on file extension and types, select all, the file should show up. select it, hit start and odin will verify the md5.

It's not an error it's just a message. When it makes a backup it creates a digest file so far no zips have digest files in them don't worry about it
Hello,
So a friend of mine gave me his j3 Achieve to get unlocked. It has the FRP lock activated so I'm wanting to clear it by reflashing the original stock firmware to the device. However, I'm only seeming to find firmwares that are the wrong version.
I'm looking for the PVPU4BSJ2 varient of the sm-j337P firmware, anyone have a link to that?
EDIT:
So i got to looking at the PIT file from the device, and it reports the firmware version as J337PVPU1ARG3, but yet the recovery still says J337PVPU4BSJ2. So i have a feeling i need to find the PVPU1ARG3 firmware, but its nowhere to be found on the net, unless i want to pay for a subscription to some bs firmware site.
So if anyone has this version of the J3's fimware please let me know and share. Otherwise I could use some help figuring out if im even right about the version. Ive included a link to the PIT file and pics of the recovery menu and the back of the device.
I'm using Heimdall v1.4.2 on Linux Mint 19. It will sucessfully flash all the firmware images except for the system image, it keeps erroring out saying it cant open the system.img file. I suspect the image is too big (idk why since its stock, maybe I just need to use ODIN)
PIT File and screens: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1VSVoLtHK5d-Sm3ja8hy_X4WJakJfvEgu
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!
So I may have found the correct firmware. I found samsung-firmware.org and it seems that they have the correct version I need. However they throttle the download speeds heavily. So a trick I found is to use the commandline downloader Axel on Linux.
Using Axel gets me almost 500kbps downloads speeds instead of the 120kbps that Firefox gets.
Link included below. Make sure to get the correct region!
https://samsung-firmware.org/firmware/pda/J337PVPU4BSJ2/
EDIT:
So I've tried the firmware above and the device is still stuck in a boot loop, and i can't see to flash the system.img image. Heimdall keeps giving me an error saying it can't open the system.img file.
I also discovered that in my PIT file, it says the firmware version is J337PVPU1ARG3.
So I've tried looking for that version and I can't find it ANYWHERE.
Ain't gonna lie I'm stuck on this one, so any help is greatly appreciated.
So when I tried flashing a combination file it sent back a failed status, & said reasoning was because of something pertaining to the Re Partition.. (not sure on exact phrase at this moment ) but with the help of google I found that its basically saying my pit file is not being recognized. So im trying to find out if anyone knows where I can Download a Pit file for Samsung Galaxy A102USQS4ASK4 or if someone can direct me with step by step instructions on how to create my own Pit file ?
Also I am not rooted so the extraction method wobt work. And I want to flash a combination file so I can find phantom OEM so I can then unlock bootloader and root.
Ps. The whole goal behind all of this is to recover some of my deleted text messages and photos. Any other options on how PLEASE let me know @amirizad_7436 I'm tagging you because you were such a big help last time
Thanks ahead of time, Rayne
