Yesterday i changed security unlock of my device from pattern to pin, dont know how but the pin i set was not set correctly and i was getting wrong pin notification.
even after 30-50 times of wrong trials i didn't get the option to reset my password, all i could do is a factory reset.
forgot password feature is missing on A116 ?
U should reset ur phone

i was using android lost, it seem to broken my pin lock function.. now when i set pin, and try to unlock with the same pin(4digit) it kept saying wrong althought i was correct. any solution?
After uninstalling android lost, changed keypad to default samsung things are still the same. is there a way to clear cache the android system lock? i think it's bugged now due to android lost.
You can't reset the lock. Otherwise a lock would be pointless as anybody could wipe it and get in

It is really annoying to use vpn in ics because of the password protection lock so is there a way to use swipe lock while vpn services active??

You don't necessarily need to use a password. I use a vpn with just pattern unlock set.
However, I believe that pattern unlock is the minimum level of security required for vpn access.

Yes i know but i dont want any kind of lock besides the swipe lock.

Fix to remove pattern/pin/password requirement for VPN
Hey,
theres a bit of a ghetto work around that i found for this annoying requirement on the new galaxy s 3.
First set up your VPN and the required pattern lock. Then you log in to samsungdive.com and press unlock my screen. This will trick the phone to not use the pattern unlock.
Just set your pattern lock to be a straight line from left to right (or right to left) on the bottom-most line.
That's very similar to a swipe lock.

Thats great !!! It's work.
No more password (of any kind) lock for the screen in order to use VPN acces!!
Thanks
Update:
Unfortunately, afther a reboot, there is no way to acces to VPN without setting a pass lock. Any idea how to permanently acces to VPN without the lock screen pass lock?
how about this? "VpnROOT - PPTP - Manager"

I have stock rom 4.1.2 (Spain release) on Samsung Galaxy S2. Do this:
- set VPN connection regulary
- set lock pattern
- set backup PIN
- turn off display to lock phone
- press HOME button (phone will ask for pattern now)
- enter WRONG pattern five times
- phone will ask for backup PIN code
- enter CORRECT backup PIN code
...and no more password protection lock when use VPN
Sorry for my English...

Searched for a working answer for about an hour. This also works on galaxy note 3 with kitkat 4.4.2.

Hey I had set VPN on my Micromax a 108 now I don't know the password and I have entered 3 times wrong password is there any way to reset it.My phone is rooted can I get password from system folders plz reply
I changed the lock screen code on my phone and need help to recover or reset it any help would be appreciated its the samsung galaxy 3 sph-l710 thanks in advance!
I think after several failed attempts it will prompt you to input your Gmail account. Let me test for you and see if it does.
Edit: And that was a resounding failure on my part. I'm not sure what you can do besides maybe doing a factory reset through Odin? This is my first Samsung phone so I'm not familiar with Odin yet.

I don't think a pin code security will ask for gmail after a few failures like the pattern security will, if you have a nandroid, then maybe restore. I don't think security settings will stick across nandroids yet.

thanks you your input. i've tried over 50 x's lol and it has yet to prompt me for my e-mail. and the phone is still new to me and i have not rooted yet. so no nandroid for me. im on the phone with sprint as i type this. I will report back my results for others to learn from my mistake
Can't you still access your recovery to perform a factory reset? Turn the phone off, then hold vol up, home, and power until the Samsung screen flickers, and when your stock recovery opens there should be an option for factory reset. If not just choose reboot to system. You'll have to set everything back up but at least you'll be able to access your phone again.

enter the wrong pattern a couple of times and it should then boot into google boot up mode and ask you for log information with google password.
If you do not know the password you are out of luck.
Sorry for your loss.
after i discovered that my lil sis knows my password i decided to change it but unluckily i ended up forgetting my
lock pin so any advices would be helpful

In my personal experience with my S3. I had to enter recovery mode using key presses and do a factory data reset to restore functionality of the phone. If you could tell is which phone you have we may be able to point you in the right direction.
Hope this helps if it does :good:
Thanks
