Is your bootloader unlocked ? root or custom rom ?

You could try to diagnose your Desire X just go to your dial screen and type: *#*#3424#*#*. If your phone passes all tests but you still have the problem you might want to try a factory reset.
no use of factory reset

After 4 Weeks the Problems started...
...first of all, iam coming from the HTC Desire handset. A solid, powerfull, less memory brave smartphone at least for 2 years.
Switched to Desire X because of the lack of memory on my Desire, although root and sd-ext.
I was very impressed of this low budget device, it did a precious impression onto me, but now i know why HTC is losing marketshare and the earnings decreases.
The device itself, even without the backside attached creaks on the upper left and right corner - ok i would life with that, but there are constant reboots and state an error report, while my device is on standby and stored in my pocket - maybe there is too much pressure applied while i tie up my shoes, but my old desire took it without any problems.
The main problem is the screen, i got an array of faulty pixels - so iam heading to my retailer to get this device repaired and then sold.
Nexus 4 iam coming, although i loved the handy size....
Attached pictures of the upper left corner taken with a One S through a magnifying glass...
no problem
I also have a Desire S, now my wife is using it.
Until now I don't have any problem, it's smoother and I think it eats less battery than Desire S (both stock ROM).
Waiting for full Sense that i miss from Desire S :crying:
Unfortunately I recognized one problem.
After every shutdown and restart of the phone I miss some apps on the screen or in my favourite folder.
Like most of my other apps I transferred them with Titanium Backup from my old phone (Desire).
I cannot see, why these few apps (Financial Times App, Paradise Island, Blast Monkeys, Bad Piggies) behave like this and the others not. Maybe it is associated with root, maybe not...
Yep, have the same problem, it's because those apps are installed on the SD-card, and the phone doesn't link them to the screen when booting.

That means theres no way to change that behaviour (without another rom)?
Not that i know, sorry

Why should another launcher solve the problem?
The apps will stay on the SD-card, why should the behaviour change?
The only problem is the small number of developers writing ROMs. :silly:

Because they use other methods for the shortcuts. Just try it and give us feedback. I don't have the problem on my desire x so it's up to you.
i have this phone for a 2 weeks now, and still not have any problems, except one random reboot..i dont know why, hope that will not repeat
No problems so far. Works like a charm.
Im comming from Desire (bravo), and Desire Hd.
I can say Dx is awsome budget phone, never had any prob. Running smooth.

I disagree. The phone should not reboot while benchmarking. This could be a symptom of a more serious defect, Ignoring it could prove to be more detrimental to the health of the device.
@OP. First I would test the phone some more. try a different benchmark and some other resource intensive tasks. If you get no more reboots, I would uninstall quadrant and try reinstalling. If the reboot issue persisits, send it back for repair. Rebooting usually has something to do with excess heat. or worst case scenario, a faulty mobo.
I benchmarked mine and my best was 6751, I have done it a couple of times, never rebooted, If it is rebooting try uninstall, then re-install the apk. You could also reset the phone and start over and see if it happens
LOL I just tested it and had the following result.

Hey guys,
i bought a HTC Hero to fix, it came today and has a weird problem;
The last owner rooted it and flashed CM7, but it won't boot, just stays at the Hero screen, after a few battery pulls it does boot into Safe Mode where it can be used to a limited amount
The best bit is it won't reboot into recovery, and when i try the key combo for fastboot it shows up then after a second reboots the phone
I don't know if any of you have seen this before, i'm gonna try some stuff this afternoon to get it running again, i just wondered if you guys have any ideas about whats happened to it!
Update: RUUd it back to stock 2.1
Only boots into safe mode though, and still no sign of a recovery mode

Hi There,
have you got adb in safe mode? If so do "adb reboot recovery" that should see you right.... although whether it stays in recovery is another matter ... it doesn't sound too happy with itself!

I could literally only boot into safe mode, adb commands would just restart it into normal booting where it would no boot and just turned off
I think the motherboard is dead

Sounds like it wants to die. The hero boards like many HTCs come in 2 main parts. They're only about 20 quid each. Well they were last time I bought parts
I've just got mine back off my mate. I've got the Aosp manifest for android version 1.0 .... Going to build a retro ROM. lol

From few days I have touch screen problems and Im not shure is from the software or just need new touch screen. When I press on the screen once, then phone start to pressing by himself on random places on the screen(On CM10 theres function that i can see where i pressed with fingers and i was able to see what is gong on, its like im typing on the screen with 3-4 fingers, just screen is going crazy and i just can sid and watch what phone doing)....Like today I join on skype and started to chat. After few second phone started to writing alone
Anyone with the same issue ? And how can be fixed ? New display?
I think that's more of a kernel issue. Try switching your kernel.
Sent from my HTC Desire X using xda app-developers app
Its the Hackers controlling you're phone! I knew that InfinityShooter guy seemed strange. Haha only Joking
But yeah Try a different Kernel (Fulmix or Infinity) as suggested I used to get this a lot on NexusKernel

my phone sometimes restart, when on mobile data. it starts while using supersense. but ever weeks after flashing. and since then, sometimes on turning on mobile data, or changing from 2g to 3g, screen goes off. then i can start it like when the battery was removed. and battery is then about 30-20%. and it happen on 80%. batterystats.bin delete didn't help. i'm now on cm, and it still happens, so not a rom fault i think. it happens most with installed busybox, but i flashed the rom new, with formating all partitions. only i didn't do is reflash boot. can i format boot partition without soff? if that didn't help, i think battery is dead. i use that phone now 13 month. realy bad.
i hope that is mean with " the phone heats up ", i cant translate
