[Q] Bluetooth problem - HTC Desire X

Hey there guys,
i wanted to ask you if anyone experienced this kind of a problem with bluetooth before: I am able to pair my HTC Desire x with my notebook running Windows 7 64bit OS, but i cant connect those two devices directly, meaning i cant send/recieve files. Only thing i get out of Windows is a dumb error message only saying that the other device does not respond. I am running stock JB 4.1.1 rom on my DX.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Yeah, i ve got it set, so it wont time-out. My bluetooth drivers seem to be working as well. I shall try some third party apps, or official HTC Sync manager, (though i dont know if it has bluetooth sending featured). Anything else i should check?

HTC sprint ROM update 09-25-2009, straight from HTC

HTC released a new stock rom for the sprint touch pro on 09-25-2009.
TouchFlo 3D updated to improve speed and stability
Dialer application enhanced to improve the handling of incoming calls
Resolves an issue using the “r” and “w” keys on the virtual keypad
Improves contact searching performance
Includes a variety of minor bug fixes
http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownloadList.aspx?p_id=195&act=sd&cat=2
Does this ROM disable ability to Tether?
I read over on PPCGeeks that this ROM disables the ability to tether, has anyone tried?
It does disable the tethering hack. It prevents the ForceCellConnection key from being changed from "Phone as Modem" to "Sprint". When you change it, it immediately reverts back to "Phone as modem" in the registry. I suppose either a process is checking it constantly, or there's a process by which reg edits can be automatically reversed, or it is read only, or ...
Here's hoping some smart person will figure it out. The touch improvements in this ROM are huge (finger scrolling); they make the device ten times easier to use.
I am happy they fixed a few bugs, but this also means Touch Pro is not getting a Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade. Too bad.
the mini-usb connector on my phone broke, so I can't get an activesync or usb connection. It charges, but that's it. Is there anyway I can do the rom update through a memory card?
thanks
from my understanding, rom update can do only sync with PC. So, you cannot do it.
Please tell me if I'm wrong
loaded ROM from mSD:
open HTC download with WinZip. Extracted NBH file to memory card
renamed NBH to RAPHIMG.nbh
inserted card
Hold Volume Down, Power, and then Rest
loads just fine. Also installed a Nascar and NFL app, in addition to changes as above.
that kinda sucks about the whole tethering thing, i shoulda looked on here before updating! but bluetooth may work for updating?? don't quote me though.
I don't know if anyone has a hack for these but there are two problems I found and have emailed HTC only to get the following response.
My Issues:
I downloaded the latest Rom Update for the Sprint Touch Pro and am having issues. First issue I found, with this update I seem to have lost the ability to select multiple emails for deletion. Secondly, when replying to text messages, windows used to mark the prior incoming message as read, now it leaves it unread. I have to navigate through each msg using the touchflo in order to mark them read. Any assistance regarding these matters would be appreciated. Thank you.

HTC Response:
I would be more than happy to assist you with this information. To select multiple emails on you device, go to your email inbox and tap Menu> Select Messages. You will have three options: All, All Below, and Several. All will select all you your messages. With All Below, you will select a message and all items below it will be selected. You can use several to pick and choose messages. As for the text messages, this feature was added with the update to ensure that you do not miss any of your messages. You phone is operating as intended.
If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us again. You can find additional support at our user forum www.htcwiki.com. There is also a customer satisfaction survey for you to take if you are interested.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Sorry for the yelling. I saw this when I tried to select multiple messages and I thought I had put a registry hack or something in the previous ROM. They MADE it LESS useful?
What were they thinking? This is not user-friendly.
Ugh.
Has anyone else had problems syncing with Outlook? Since I installed the new ROM I cannot get Active Sync to connect with my computer.
It connects as a PocketPC USB Sync but will not connect to Windows Mobile Device Center. The phone also charges. I unchecked the "Advanced Network Capabilities" box and still no luck.
Any ideas?
So someone has posted a fix for the txt msg issue on ppcgeek.com...
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=87404&page=2
Look for the program called "LOSER's SMS fix.cab" in post #12.
i dont believe that.. i think they realized the mistake after the fact and making a stupid cover up story.. thats what made me go back to stock rom.. i dont have time to go in and out 49 times for A DAM TEXT. screw that... htc/microsoft FIX THIS PLEASE lol

If it is running the latest radio, it is also running this ROM. Stock ROM and stock radio are installed as a single upgrade.

Had the same problem.
After update, WMDC just shows red X.
Tried uninstalling WMDC, no joy.
Any suggestions?
I just received a new Touch Pro as a replacement, and it is running this new ROM update. The only problem im having is that Opera does not show up on the task manager at all. So when i close(minimize) it i have to reopen from the start menu or touchflo and then when it opens my tabs are still open. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone have a fix or idea?

[Q] S3 Bluetooth issues connection to car stereo

I have a Sprint S3, and it will pair to my car stereo just fine, but it keeps disconnecting. Once paired, there is option boxes for "Call audio" and "Media audio"
It seems like if I turn one option on, it disables the other, and vice versa. Every time I start the car, the pairing is out of whack and I have to start over, enabling whichever one I want, and after a few times it works. I did get both to work one time, but as soon I turned car off then on, it was broken again.
My old phones have never had a problem connecting both Call and Media to my car, so I am concerned it is an issue with the S3.
I have 2010 Nissan Altima with the upgraded stereo. I have removed all previously paired devices so only the s3 shows up. I have removed and re-added the s3 several times. I have renamed the car's bluetooth name several times as well.
Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue, or can you test it with your car audio systems and let me know if it works for you?
Let me know if there some information I should provide to better understand the issue.
Thanks,
Rob
Hey robmtx, this might help you out. Theres an app in the market called bluetooth fix repair.
I had the same issue with my last two droids (1 and 3), and this solved the dropped connections. good luck
Thanks.
I'll give that a try.
I've also been reading how this might be more of an ICS issue than a device issue. It appears there are similar discussions in other device threads. I'll keep researching and also try this app.
I used my S3 in a rented car a view days ago and paired it with the installed Ford car stereo.
I played MP3 via Bluetooth and made some calls via Bluetooth. It all worked flawless. I also did not see any checkboxes for "call audio" or "media audio".
When I left the car and came back later it connected automatically. So I guess the problem is not a general problem.
this happens on mine as well from stock XALE8 to the latest XALF5. i went ahead and posted on samsung's FB page..but doubt we'll get a response
by the way, ive had this same issue whether im connecting to a bluetooth 2.0 or bluetooth 3.0 headset/car kit.
Right I might know the answer to this as I had the same problem as few weeks ago.
If you have Facebook, twitter, whatsapp or anything like this best thing is to get rid of them if you don't want to go to your accounts and sync on your phone and untick the sync with contacts on any of the apps you have installed.
Then go to call log and clear your call history.
Delete the bluetooth pairing turn the phone off and back on, repair with the car, mine has worked perfectly since I did this.

yes this is your firmware version. settings > about > build number > I9300XXALF5. this is the most current. stock should be I9300XXALE8. under baseband version is your modem (which should contain the drivers for your 3G radio/bluetooth/wifi (i think)

My Build number is IMM76D.L710VPALEN which threw me off. Guess it is different for Sprint. Baseband L710VPLEN
I think I'll just buy a car without bluetooth and be done with this mess. It's so annoying playing the "will it pair" game. :laugh:

bluetooth bug
I have a strange problem with my bluetooth audio...I have a Denso radio in my Ford Mondeo and the nightmare starts whan I connect phone via bluetooth to it. Phone some time don´t wake up from sleep. The only way how to solve (partialy) this is to reset phone (long press of power button). Then phone connect perfectly and everything is working like a charm. This problem I had on every rom I´ve tried yet
Every other phone I´ve had before didn´t suffer such prblems (galaxy note, evo 3d...)
Somebody could help? I don´t know what to do...
Same Issue
I'm having the exact same issue with my SG3 (Stock, not rooted *yet*). The initial pair works great - phone and audio sync. Once I shut the car off and back on again, the Phone connection does not automatically initiate and I have to manually connect it on my head unit. I'm driving a 2013 Mazda CX5. It's not my headunit since both my HTC Inspire 4G and HTC One X connect without issue. Another annoyance is the lack of song titles or other ID3 info on screen. Even my old Inspire had that!
My connection is great, but I am having an issue with tags. I'm using PowerAmp, but my Alpine unit displays the wrong song info - it automatically uses the default app. Is there any way to fix this?

By the way, my car is a Renault Fluence 2011, maybe it uses the same BT chip as your Altima as Renault and Nissan are pratically the same manufacturer...

Bluetooth Issuese

Hello everyone,
I am a newbie to android, and my first phone on this platform is the S2 .Everything works amazing in this phone except this one thing that is bothering me a lot. I am not able to send ANY files from my phone to another phone nor to my laptop and vice versa through bluetooth. I had put in 4 songs through bluetooh using my laptop onto my phone and that's the last I've seen on bluetooth on my phone. Tried restarting. Nothing worked. The laptop pairs though. I might be needing an elaborate answer because I am newbie to the platform.
Thanks a lot.

Did you recently install updates, drivers, new hardware, and/or programs on your laptop? Or even your Phone? You can also try restarting both devices and try wiping your phone (backup first!), you can also try to install special drivers for your phone's bluetooth on your laptop (if applicable!)
Did you check if Bluetooth on your phone works right if using it to connect to a loudspeaker or an headphone?
Otherwise try to remove the pairing towards your laptop and re-pair it.

Full Phone Function Flyer on Honeycomb

I just got a HTC Flyer GSM/WIFI 32gig from a buddy. Tho its a year old its condition is like new and i was amazed by the battery life, Its on stock Honeycomb Hboot 1.11.0011. Like the flyer but only problem is when I insert the sim card I could only use my data and sms but no voice call
So 1st thing as usual, when I get a new device, is to head over to XDA . After hours of search, same answer I got, downgrade to GB, S off then I can enable the phone function or alternatively, unlock bootloader root and install custom roms which had the function. As I like the stock HC and also because this is an obsolete device, developers are not so active. So this is what I did to get full function phone on the stock HC.
I unlock with HTCdev,( had problem with submitting token, copy and paste keep getting error (done at least 6 phones no problem) so I finally type in manually and got it unlock, rooted (mainly to get rid of bloatware too-saves battery)
Thanks to @clubtech, I use root explorer to copy 2 'buildprop files, one to external sd and other to internal storage (just incase i need to revert)
I then use my pc to edit the file in internal storage :
ro.ril.reject.cs.ss.enabled=0
ro.ril.reject.mo.ussd.enabled=1
ro.phone.function=1
For bluetooth headset:
ro.bt.profiles = 4270403
service.brcm.bt.ag.supported=1
I then copy the edited file and paste it in system and override the original buildprop file, Reboot.
Went to playstore to try a couple of daillers, one was ok but i could call but incoming the screen freezes and the next one says my device does not support telephony. I uninstalled them and use the stock phone and after a couple of more reboots viola it works. You can even use yr own ringtone Though this is an old device this might still help a couple of guys. Cheers
Thanks, since you're already tinkering may you try and apply these changes to this HC custom ROM (Coolexe's) and see if you can get working gsm calls via bt headset?

I already tried and edited the build.prop as you suggested but Bluetooth headphones can't connect while Bluetooth audio works fine. So I'm back to Gingerbread, sadly no custom Honeycomb ROM offers working bt headphones and there are no devs still active on Honeycomb roms. You said you had stock rooted Honeycomb ROM and you enabled both gsm phone calls capability and Bluetooth headphones profile, can you confirm that?

I will get the phone back from my nephew this weekend then i will install this rom and test. I did not not test on BT only on the wired earpiece and also without earpiece mic and speaker all work well. Ex dialer is good and screen timeout toggle takes care of the 15sec sleep. Basically this flyer is a full function phone so will test the BT fully this weekend and let u know. Cheers
R: Full Phone Function Flyer on Honeycomb
Thanks, this is much appreciated. I'm impressed you get the 15-secs-screen-timeout bug even on a stock ROM, now I'm curious if you also tried installing MANY APPS (at least more than 100) and see if sd-card-installed apps actually stick after a reboot, and if you can actually hit a limit for installed apps (on HC I never got to have more than let's say 125, while on GB and ICS I never had this limit).
I mean, I thought these were custom Rom related issues, not stock!
Inviato dal mio HTC Flyer P512 con Tapatalk 2
Though i m not very optimistic as others would ve tried it long before, i will play around with it this weekend and see if there's anything i can do. cheers

This is the fact: every HC ROM with activated phone functionality comes from an obscure Chinese ROM base (LeeDroid's first, so Coolexe's and the others which are based on LeeDroid) and suffer the same bugs, I just don't know if those bugs are present in a stock Rom with enabled phone. Thanks if you can help shed some light.

I got over the 15 second timeout using the intelliscreen app from market. It can use the accelerometer to detect the position and stay on. Also I have found a screen on app that will wake the device if the screen does blank.
Can you use Bluetooth calls on GB? which Rom? I see your sig says Max128Droid but BT did not work for me ..... reflashing to test ..... Reflashed GB BT does not work for me!
Thanks
BT voice calls work on GB roms; like Max'es. And it does not work on ANY HC Rom. Period. Next generation roms with Dexters OneXXL is yet last one where BT calls wark via BT for SOME bt headsets not all.

I am continuing to search for a Rom or combination that allows full phone support. I discovered yesterday that ICS shooter rom worked with bluetooth for me, would appreciate if we could list the various roms that you have tried and what features worked/didn't work.
I have attached an XLS of my findings so far but am looking at modifying build.props and swapping APK's to see what happens.
I am late to the flyer (had an Evo but swapped to the flyer for the Sim) so do not have any history and many roms are unavailable.
I thought the Bluetooth problem was a kernel issue I am no doubting this as Roms with the same kernel behave differently.
help please!!!!!

ro.bt.profiles = 4270403
service.brcm.bt.ag.supported=1
Cheers

[Q] Anyone else experiencing this?

Sup my XDA'erzz... Hey so real quick is anyone experiencing issues with Android File Transfer and a Mac? I'm specifically using a Macbook Pro i& quad-core with a SSD and running OS X 10.9 Mavericks... I never had these issues with my Verizon OG HTC One 32GB... But since picking up a Verizon HTC One Max 32GB Android File Transfer refuses to work and for the life of me I can't figure out why.. If I just plug it in nothing happens unless I manually launch AFT and then I receive a message that says please connect your android device with a usb cable. If I plug it in and restart the phone it picks it up but then says can not connect to device... It's extremely annoying because I'm working on some ROMs for it and I have to constantly ADB push everything....... Not that big of deal but I'd still like to be able to mount my storage where everything is visible and can add/remove as I please.... Any suggestions would be great, thanks guys!!
Try using a different cable. Sometimes its a simple solution thats overlooked.

Tried 4 different cables and this is the exact message I get "Please connect your Android device with a USB cable to get started."

Reinstall drivers, not a mac user so idk if you need the fastboot or adb files from sdk. But if you do, reinstall those exe files

Did you look at what the usb phone setting is on. I know there are extra ones like modem or something or other that could prevent transfer.
I am having similar issues, the mtp file transfer mode seems to borked. I can get files from phone but not send em. I've been mounting my external sd as drive then moving the files using root explorer.
Of course.. It always shows that MTP mode is enabled but does nothing when you tap it, and also shows usb is connected on the phone but when taping that it brings up only options for internet passthrough and sharing etc...

Right. Internet passthrough and others. Dont some of those stop file transfer when active.

Could be the USB 3.0 intermittent issue. Try a powered hub that is USB 2.0 as if your notebook is new enough most likely the USB ports are all 3.0.
Just saying.
