Battery Drain - P769 21b - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Hi
I am experiencing battery drain with my P769 21b stock phone. I have tried factory reset and it didn't do anything.
The main cause is the Cell Standby.
I heard that the V20F is good with the battery but I was wondering why a later version (21B) is the opposite.
I have read that the bootloader on the newer phones (This one?) may not be able to unlock,
I do not want to screw anything up, it's only 2 weeks old.
Does anyone else have battery problems?
Does this bootloader unlock and does the phone root easily (has anyone done it)?
Thanks

If you manage to unlock the bootloader, I will throw my phone at you... lol. Joking. I'm on 20h and I use a battery tweak found in Pimp my Rom. Of course, you need to be rooted to use it.

There is a LGPwn.apk on here that roots it easily.

So I can flash a rom without needing to unlock the bootloader?
What is the use of unlocking the bootloader then?

No, the bootloader has to be unlocked to flash a custom ROM.

Pimp my Rom is an app for root users. Yeah... for custom roms, bootloader needs to be unlocked.

Root + locked bootloader = ???

I've got a DNA that I just bought today from someone. Its rooted already with a locked bootloader (that was once unlocked). It has custom recovery installed. Any rom I try to install won't boot and I have to boot into recovery and restore it. It has a functional rom on it now, but the wifi on whatever particular rom it is won't work. I'm not sure what firmware it is its UKB 1.3.0 and PRI version 2.44_002. Not sure if any of that is pertinent information, but I'm just looking to get on a Sense 5 rom with functional wifi. Or at least stock as a whole. It IS trying to accept an OTA update at the moment as well, but I deferred it until the 7th. Thanks for any help anyone can lend.

Ask the dude to email the unlock key so you can unlock it and have fun.
Or just go to htcdev and go through the unlock process.

Doesn't he need the unlock key that is emailed? Last I did this was Nov so I'm a little foggy on the steps.

It doesn't matter who caused it, the bottom line is that if youve never unlocked and are running 2.04 then the unlock exploit won't work.

How Do You Tell If You're Locked Or Unlocked?

Hi folks,
I'm selling my phone and trying to get it back to stock. I flashed a lock_bootloader.zip file from another thread to lock the bootloader. I realized though, I don't know how to verify if that was successful. I booted into bootloader. Nothing says Locked or Unlocked. Says Moonshine S-OFF but doesn't say if it's locked or not. Does that mean it's unlocked? Or does that mean that it is locked?
Thanks...sorry for the noob question.
Moonshine hides the lock status so you need to follow the guide to completely go son and then a status will show as locked.

Ahhh....cool! Thanks! There was a note in the guide that said to verify you were unlocked before proceeding, but I hammered on like you said to do and in the end it was fully successful. Thanks.
This is the best guide to get completely stock.

I use the cf autoroot. it worked like charm.
Now, this means the bootloader is unlocked right?

You can upgrade to NCH - Chainfire used that firware to provide the root for our device, so you should be able to root again IF you do lose root.

Wait!
Chainfire works for this?
I thought it wouldn't because the bootloader was locked.
I assume that this triggers Knox right?
I really don't care, but would be nice to know.

Yes, Chainfire released a root for the T-Mobile S5 - Chainfire Auto Root
Some people have already reported that it worked, so that means our bootloader is NOT locked...now I can get the phone without worries!
And Yes - This will trip Knox
The root is Based on NCH, so it will work on your phone.

According to Chainfire, if we were able to root using CF-Auto-root, then the bootloader is NOT locked. How do you figure it is locked if this method of root worked?

PLEASE do not make statements like this that will only confuse everyone trying to find ways to root and get recovery on their phone. You are completely mistaken. Chainfire himself said that if CF AUTO ROOT Can be flashed then the bootloader IS UNLOCKED - and trust me, he knows much more about this than you or I do)
PLUS - RECOVERY is now possible by flashing Phils Custom CWM - (from the International Thread) There is a file posted that specifically for our phone - it works beautifully on the TMO S5 - you can download it here: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_A...d_Edition/klte It is a Unified version for TMO - SPRINT and VERIZON (Dev Edition) S5's. (SPecial thanks to Phil3759 and Chainfire for his CF AUto ROot)
Looks as if I was wrong. Apparently the bootloader is unlocked.

I talked to a T-Mobile employee and he said they only check that the serial matches, that it turns on, and that it doesn't have water damage or a cracked screen. So pretty much tripping Knox means nothing in terms of the JUMP plan

Be careful for what you said.
The situation is exactly same as Note 3 (only Sprint and T-Mobile versions have unlocked bootloader).
CF Auto root requires unlocked bootloader. That's why you never seen CF for ATT and VZW (except dev version) versions.
The procedure is to flash "customized" recovery in order to install SU, so unlocked bootloader is required.

have a question about boot unlocking for note 2 on verizon

i recent relieved my phone from a boot loop and have reinstalled stock rom. i am running android version 4.1.1 and baseband version VRAMC3. well here is my question, this version is rooted and i want to unlock the bootloader so i can install custom roms. Can i use casual to unlock the bootloader with it being rooted already?
thanks
@d73jester
This is just my 2 cents, but if I were you, I would probably ODIN to factory stock 4.1.2 VRAMC3. Then, you should be able to use Adam Outler's Casual to root and unlock bootloader all in one step. I see where you had commented in this thread.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52880198
You should be able to use the same links as well, as long as you never took the 4.3 OTA and permanently locked your bootloader.
I'm not familiar with the process of unlocking bootloader on 4.1.1, so not able to provide help there. I would guess that if you read through old threads, you can find something on it.
Good luck.

edit-- I looked at Droidstyle's guide again and he said that flashing root66 does not lock your bootloader again. So... sounds like you don't need to try unlock the bootloader as long as you never took 4.3 OTA and had the bootloader unlocked before ODIN'ing to 4.1.1/Root66.

[Q] I'm Stupid (bootloader locked and flashing)

First of all, I'm spanish, my apologizes of my expresions or misspelling.
That's what I've done:
1 - I've checked if my bootloader was unlockable, and my phone say's: NO
2 - Then I've installed the DualRecovery W/O root and with my phone bootlocked.
3 - Then I've tryed to flash CM11 in TWRP recovery, flashing first the Boot.img via fastboot.
4 - Device in Red Light.
What I can do to woke up my Z2? That's my record 2 hrs to **** my phone. :silly:
Firstly, it's stated in the first post of the CM11 thread that you shouldn't be using dual recovery. If you read the thread further, you'll see that it is recommended to use the recovery in DooMKernel to flash. And this requires unlocked bootloader.
Anyways, you can try using Flashtool to flash a stock firmware. Might be able to recover your phone.

If your BL is locked, you cannot install CM.... coz you cannot install a custom kernel. you should rebuild your phone using SEUS to put a good ROM.
Then you can put whatever ROM you want for LB and root it. but no custom kernel.

Is there any way to get root access without unlocking the bootloader. I found some ways in XDA but nothing is clear.
I would really appreciate if you guys can send me a link with a clear tutorial of how to get a new ROM without unlocking the bootloader.
