Whenever I try to use gps for the app Antennas or similar apps to find which tower I am connected to it is stuck on Searching For GPS
also facebok does not show my GPS location example: when writing status on my old iphone I would see New York for example.
Any settings I should disable or tweak or whatever? thanks!

I install GPS status & tool https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2&hl=en and it solves the problem. :good::good:
Thanks man but this app confirmed gps is ok. Seems like i cant get it to work with facebook not showing my location it does show it on my ipod.
Any ideas which facebook version works ok with near location? When writing status.

I used GPS without problems for almost a year, but recently it started showing my location 50-200 meters away from the actual location. In addition even after i switch off GPS the small icon of satellite is still displayed on the main screen near the batter icon. Any solution to it?
Do you have both boxes checked for my location under location and security in settings?

I checked both boxes, restarted but its same, wrong by few hundred meters.

I am using stock rom 2.3.3, GPS worked fine after the update, the problem started just lately.
Have you tried to reflash the stock firmware?

Anybody else having issues getting location? Maps and other apps aren't getting location. I can get GPS now and then but only in the very open. Seems like I can't get agps or network location.

I had location nailed down before the map loaded <2-3 seconds. I am also on WiFi at my parents house.
Under settings>location I have all the boxes checked.

I was having lots of problems until I discovered the bottom box was unchecked. Check them all.
I have them all checked, ill try uncheck and re-check

Have you reboot the phone today?
So I unchecked all 3, rebooted and then checked them all. All looks good now.

I can't get the weather to find my location I think I have a bad GPS chip I've tried resetting and everything but if I go to Verizon to switch it out I hope they don't try to get rid of my unlimited data

I did something similar and all of a sudden after a reboot it asked for permissions to use my Google account. After that everything has been working peachy.

If you mean the icon next to your 4g icon, that isn't the GPS icon. That reticle stays there and does nothing.
GPS failing during Strava
When I start a Strava OR Endomondo cycling tracking the GPS seems to stop tracking during the ride. If I wake the phone to read a text or something it seems to come back. Is it possible it is being put to sleep by OS or Sense even though the app is still asking for data through the API? Otherwise it locks quickly and works as intended.
Hi guys, I'm looking for an app (if it does exist) that can tell what application is using my location. When u look at my alarms on bbs.. I always have the maps alarm waking my phone numerous times. I have all the tracking settings disabled in Maps settings and my phone settings. I I can't figure out what calls the Maps app.

I didn't really noticed until i tried to use foursquare today, but doesn't matter the app i use everytime i get this message about turning on location, it only works with gps, any solution? My device is stock rooted
That means you just need to turn on the location services in Settings!

No he is probably hitting the bug in Network Location after latest services update. Google changed it, they are working on a fix which I hope will be released soon.
If you cant wait only factory reset helos.

yup i had to factory reset and now it works just fine, on the positive side the NFC logo is totally gone, how? i don't know :good:
Well that is probably a bug if NFC is turned on.

My home address is saved and is correct. It used to work flawlessly forever and then a little while back it started taking me to the wrong destination. The mark on the map is showing correctly. I tried reinstalling and it didn't work. This happen for one of my other stared locations. Everything else is business like usual. Anyone else experience this?

Try installing GPS Status by MobiWIA It seems to help grab a gps fix quicker and more accurately.

I have had this GPS show me the correct destination when I enter/preview it. Then while driving there its taken me to another place entirely... Saying that I was indeed at the named location but I wasn't even close.
I use GPS all the time for work and this has happened maybe 4 - 5 times. Not sure it completely relates to your saved home location deal but just wanted to share...

thats exactly what im experiencing but only with my home location and one of my other starred locations...weird, ill try gps status but i dont think that will do it
