I used GPS without problems for almost a year, but recently it started showing my location 50-200 meters away from the actual location. In addition even after i switch off GPS the small icon of satellite is still displayed on the main screen near the batter icon. Any solution to it?
Do you have both boxes checked for my location under location and security in settings?

I checked both boxes, restarted but its same, wrong by few hundred meters.

I am using stock rom 2.3.3, GPS worked fine after the update, the problem started just lately.
Have you tried to reflash the stock firmware?

First off i asked this in the roms thread but no one would help so... This is my favorite Rom. It runs flawlessly except Gps. When i go on Google.com or Google earth i see the Gps in the notification bar trying to find the location but it always says after a while location cannot be found. everytime.

I had the same problem in macnut r10.
I dled GPS Test app, I set the app to keep the phone awake. Then let it run for 20 mins straight. rebooted and GPS was significantly better. Not as good as some of the 2.1 roms but usable.
K i just put Eugenes jk2 on my phone and GPS still doesn't work.. It worked on stock before i ever flashed any custom rom so wtf. I know a lot of roms i used before this past week didn't have the drivers but now they do and still can't find location....
Try what I suggested.

Recently these 3 days I don't know what happen to my vibrant it can't locate the place with the network location after I flashed the s.gps 2 fixed for 7 days. I was on bionic 1.3. And then i thought it was internal messup so i odin back to jfd and now I'm on the Simply Honey Vibrant v1.0 and didn't flash the s. GPS fix yet. But still remain the same issue with the network determin location. Most of my weather apps using network determined the location which now they state location undefined.
Now I'm lost. Can anyone help me out? Million thanks

Try a different rom...sometimes certain apk added to rom will cause the phone to be bugged

Thanks first. But it seen just happen for two roms. It's like the network cannot locate placese without the GPS. Is really anyway to fix the A-GPS issue. I don't experience like long time ago. It just happen.

Anybody else having issues getting location? Maps and other apps aren't getting location. I can get GPS now and then but only in the very open. Seems like I can't get agps or network location.

I had location nailed down before the map loaded <2-3 seconds. I am also on WiFi at my parents house.
Under settings>location I have all the boxes checked.

I was having lots of problems until I discovered the bottom box was unchecked. Check them all.
I have them all checked, ill try uncheck and re-check

So I unchecked all 3, rebooted and then checked them all. All looks good now.

I can't get the weather to find my location I think I have a bad GPS chip I've tried resetting and everything but if I go to Verizon to switch it out I hope they don't try to get rid of my unlimited data

I did something similar and all of a sudden after a reboot it asked for permissions to use my Google account. After that everything has been working peachy.

If you mean the icon next to your 4g icon, that isn't the GPS icon. That reticle stays there and does nothing.
GPS failing during Strava
When I start a Strava OR Endomondo cycling tracking the GPS seems to stop tracking during the ride. If I wake the phone to read a text or something it seems to come back. Is it possible it is being put to sleep by OS or Sense even though the app is still asking for data through the API? Otherwise it locks quickly and works as intended.
I have a 100% stock Evo LTE and for the last few weeks there hasn't been any locations in my location history of Google Maps. Previous to that it was working correctly. I have "Location History" enabled in the settings. Anyone else have this issue?

I had an issue with the latest OTA and even some stock based Roms not updating my latitude either after the last update. Ended up using an app called backitude from the market that pushed updates.
It started working for me again when I installed the last Meanbean ROM.

After Clearing the Data for Maps and making sure all of my settings were enabled I can report that it is working correctly again. Thanks to everyone who replied with advice.
Whenever I try to use gps for the app Antennas or similar apps to find which tower I am connected to it is stuck on Searching For GPS
also facebok does not show my GPS location example: when writing status on my old iphone I would see New York for example.
Any settings I should disable or tweak or whatever? thanks!

I install GPS status & tool https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2&hl=en and it solves the problem. :good::good:
Thanks man but this app confirmed gps is ok. Seems like i cant get it to work with facebook not showing my location it does show it on my ipod.
Any ideas which facebook version works ok with near location? When writing status.
