Just curious if I can keep my old batteries with the new phone.

no. new note 3 are skinner and longer
But are the batteries also longer and thinner?
yes thats what i meant. the batteries themselves are skinner and longer
The new Note 3 batteries have 4 pins, the older Note 2 only have 3 pins. Need to verify pin-outs before trying to interchange them.
I doubt it, different generations, typically they won't make a battery to fit in another unit. HTC was probably the closest with their batteries in the past but that's gone now since their phones are all uni body, another reason why I haven't bought another from them.

I knew it wouldn't take em long, Anker now have their batteries available for the Note 3.
I along with others, find their batteries better than originals, I found 'em here;
Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=331043006148

I had the Note 2 Anker batteries and they lasted a lot longer than the Samsung one. I'm waiting for the combo with 2 batteries and a wall charger. There is already a page for it on Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-SM-N9005-SM-N9000-18-Month-Warranty/dp/B00FS8JPXW/ref=sr_1_22?s=wireless&srs=2528932011&ie=UTF8&qid=1381507217&sr=1-22&keywords=note+3 They must be waiting for the cheap chargers to get shipped from China.
tag nice find
good find!
If anyone has one, can you please let me know how you like it, and which one you are using?

My charging pad is the LG WCP-300, $39.99 from Verizon (on-line and at some of the stores) it worked really well with my Nexus 4 & Galaxy S4 for about 8 months. I've only used it with the Note 3 for a couple of days, but so far, so good.
The Nexus 4 had a built in wireless receiver & I used the OEM charging back for the S4. With the Note 3 I have a Qi receiver insert made by Docooler that I bought on Amazon for $11.98 including shipping. It fits well, it only makes a slight bulge inside the stock back cover.

Two more things
When you buy the WCP-300 charger from Verizon it includes the USB cable and power transformer. I think the ones on Amazon don't, plus they cost more.
You can also get a car mount for this one on eBay, the Smart fit2.

How's that qi receiver? Does it charge fast or super slow?

Reply to Rootuser3.0 (about 90% of the time over the last few days the app won't let me quote/reply directly)
I just checked the charging time, it took exactly 45 minutes from 90% to 100%.

I'm using the Tylt Vu and the Samsung OEM back. I purchased 2 from T-Mobile site with the 30% off coupon. Really like the look and ease of charging although a little expensive with this setup. I really wanted the upright positioning especially for easily checking notifications on my nightstand and desk. They come with the wall charger and a round (not microusb) jack.
Have Verizon back cover on order (in stock) and Samsung charging pad (in stock) on order from Samsung. If I remember I'll post some statistics here with charging times. With the regular OEM wired charger I get a full charge from about 1% to 100% in 2 hrs 10 min.

Receiver doesn't matter for wireless charging, they all output way more than your phone can take. The amount your phone takes in is less than 1amp and its locked in the kernel still.

Nokia DT-900 on my Nexus 7.
It was only like $26 after taxes and free shipping from the AT&T online website.
Really nice, charges exactly how I need it to, and is just a great buy in my opinion.
Just got the Samsung pad and back. Will let you know how it goes.

Did anyone purchase a spare battery charger and find themselves still plugging their phone in most of the time, forgetting their charger at home, not wanting to take off case and rebooting phone every time, etc? And find themselves only using it for emergency purposes?

i bought a universal battery charger because i was tired of wasting money on a new charger everytime i get a new phone. also, i carry a few devices so all i needed was one. i got mine on ebay for about $15. pict in link below

No not really. Taking the time to swap batteries is still better than waiting for the phone to charge.

This. Hate having down time as I'm firmly addicted to my phone.

I instantly bought a 2 pack of anker batteries and an additional wall charger. Me and my Fiance each use a battery and a charger. Just swap them out when the get low, love it.

I have the Anker battery set and charger too. Day to day at home or the office I rarely use them but I do a fair bit of traveling each month and in planes, trains, and automobiles they come in handy.
And yes it's a PITA to take off my case. Especially since I switched from the cheap one piece TPU/Pleather case to the two piece Rubber/Pleather with separate silver trim AVOC case.

I'm the opposite. I haven't plugged my phone into it's charger for months now. Always have the extra battery fully charged

I am fed up with the garbage charging cables, literally every month I have to buy a new USB cable. I have tried many different companies and they all break after 1 month or less of use. BTW I am travelling Europe so anything here would be great. BTW I've spent about $100 in just USB cables.
P. S
I've just lost my **** because a cable I bought 3 weeks ago stopped working an hour ago. I can't warranty it because like I said I'm traveling.

Cables I use
I have two of these:
((Can't Post Links... It's $7.99 on Amazon, just search this "aLLreli® 10ft 3M Premium Gold Plated USB 3.0 Supper Speed Data Sync Charger Charging Braid Cable - Extra Long"))
One for my Note 3, and the other for my Note 12. They are braided, long, and hella durable. I would say my only complaint is that the braided cable is thick, and sometimes hard to coil up to fit in a tight bag.

I've never had issues with the original cables.. I also use the (prettymuch identical) Note 3 cables.
Just find a Mediamarkt or Saturn or Conrad and look for reinforced gold-plated USB3 cables.
Also, perhaps it's an idea to change your methods of storing the cables. Mine have been everywhere from folded in the bottom of my bag to tangled in a suitcase with tons of junk, never had one break on me.
I can't say that I actually paid any attention to charge cables. I connect my Note Pro to whatever charger is nearest to me, the original one or other USB 2 cables from mobile phones. Never had any problems.

honestlyI hate to say it but I bought exactly that cable from amazon uk . It was the worst one out of the 12 cables I bought in the past 6 months . It broke after 2 days of use Just stopped charging and fitting in the Slot. Right now I'm on my 13th cable which costs me $ 10 usb 2.0 and its lasting me about a month so I'm getting ready for it to die again

I hate to say it donkon, but I've had the opposite experience. I too have the aLLreli cable, and it has worked great for me. Other than maybe a 2M option, 10 feet IS a little long, the cable is great. It connects solidly, allows me to read in bed while having it plugged in, and send to be a good cable.

I'm starting to think my galaxy note 12.2 might be the culprit as I have never had a problem on any device. Before a cable dies I get an alert that my tablet is too hot and it will not charge . Next event is my cable stops completely working.
Sent from my SM-N910F (Note 4)
Could be, how do the contacts within the tablet's port look? Anything bent or misaligned?
Only other possibility is the charger itself.
The port looks good to my knowlegde but I've had a couple cables have pieces come out of their ports after using them a couple times. But I think that might be cable qaulity related. 1 have my original new Note 4 adapter I was contemplating to try but I am afraid that will get broken too if I use it with the tablet
Sent from my SM-N910F (Note 4)
Yeah I wouldn't try. I keep that one reserved for my Note 4 since the tip has a unique feel to it (the shape) just so I know which one is connected to the special fast charger for the Note 4.

If your in a jam you can use a standard micro USB cable to charge your note pro 12.2.

For that price, it better not break down. I have been using these two cables without issue all year.
Just for charging on my nightstand:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NUZ8BVM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Longer one for sitting on the couch using the Note when the battery needs charging:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JRX2LEE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (very well made cable)
I've used both the expensive and the cheapos to varying degrees of success. Some of the better cables don't fit well into some devices due to the protective cases. . As much as I want to use Samsung cables when the kid destroys one it hurts(I am guilty too) so I buy the cheapos off ebay by the dozen. Seldom have had an issue and they last a good while . I just trash em at first sign of getting worn.

Just a selly question what is the recharging time for the 905 device?
It's spelled 'silly' not selly.
Can't say for 905 but my 900 wifi charges in 3.5 hours from almost dead battery.
It does not appear that English is his first language (judging by his sig, and the grammar of the post). This is an International community after all.
That's why I used the smiley. I sure didn't want to offend him.
Extreme coincidence perhaps. My son and I both purchased a Note 4 and a Gear S each. When attaching the Note 4 fast charger to the Gear S cradle, it worked fine for about a week. Now BOTH of our Note 4 chargers do not work. So take care and until this matter is clarified, I suggest you don't use your Note 4 fast charger with you Gear S cradle.
Sorry to hear that happened to BOTH of yall. Those 9volt chargers aren't a cheap accessory to replace but hopefully you can get them replaced under warranty. I have been using my Note 4 charger on my Gear S charging cradle for around 3 weeks now with out any problems so far (fingers crossed). I started using the note charger because I have a USB in line volt/amp/mah meter and was using it to verify battery capacity.
