Bluetooth Issue - Micromax A116

Device: MMX A116 CHD
ROM: JB v4.2.1 (Screenshot attached)
Not sure, what happened, but, I'm not able to transfer files through bluetooth. I just get this message on my PC.
Although, it might be deemed (partly) off-topic here, someone tell me if it's a problem at the device end (phone). I haven't installed anything on my PC recently.
It might be some small thing, but, I'm stumped. Please help. Thanks.

no external sd card or no space for incoming file
i tried again and again and i was getting this message: "no external sd card or no space for incoming file". i checked settings -> storage and found there was enough space for the files i was trying to send/receive. there is lotsa space on my pc hard disk too.
i then thought of doing a 'reboot'. presto! i'm able to transfer files through bluetooth. but, all is not truly well; i still get the occasional error while transferring files.
take a look at the screenshots before the reboot... it's the same situation after the reboot too. so, where does the problem lie? i'm stupefied. if anyone has any idea, pls post here.

Need more info.
What file u r trying to transfer?
Is it apk file? If so, install moborobo on ur PC.
Is it working before? Which OS ur using on ur PC?

i'm not exactly sure what causes it. because i use the same rom and i never faced any of the problems you've mentioned. therefore, i can only suggest a fresh install. install twrp recovery and then make a fresh install of the rom. that should fix it. also you could use titanium backup to make a backup of all your call logs, messages, and apps before you do that. it would be a smooth transition for you.

[Q] please help ! Pc cannot detect LG optimus one

Hi
I had rooted my LG Optimus one and had deleted some applications with Titanium backup.
Now when i attach my phone to any computer it is not getting detected. i tried resetting the phone to factor default, reloaded drivers and LG pc suite . tried almost everything possible.
It is not even going into usb mass storage mode. The device manager on PC too does not detect any usb conection happening. Everything else on the phone is working fine.
Is that any usb related module on the phone got accidently deleted ?
Whats the possible solution now ?
Have you checked the USB-MASS STORAGE option in SETTINGS-> SDCARD & PHONE STORAGE SETTINGS ?
yes
yes i have done everything . selected mass usb storage too..
the problem is that no PC even detects a USB connection happening when i attach the phone
This happened to me twice now... I just sent it in to the LG service center. The tech guy said he did a "software update" which I took to mean reflashing the original ROM all over again.
I recommend doing a KDZ update if possible then install custom recovery and do a nandroid backup so you will always have a failsafe.
Dont take my word for it yet though... Hopefully someone else can enlighten us. I now use the void custom ROM so that there will be no unnecessary apps on my phone ^_^
Dear all, can any body tell me how much space is required on sd for nandroid backup?
I have limited space on stock sd card.

IIRC, around <500 MB. Each backup you make wont overwrite the last one so watch how many you make. But this is actually a good thing. And each backup type you make (nand, nand + android secure, etc.) also makes its own folder.
Backup and try to restore first to see if it works (backing up the nand+anything else didnt work for me).
Thanks a lot. I believe I'll have to delete some files on sd. And after that I can make a nandroid backup. I also feel we can copy the backup to pc and can use it later if need arises?

I believe so as long as it is in the correct folder where you found it.
What I feared for my phone before was that I cannot do a KDZ update because the PC wouldnt see my phone and I did not have custom recovery installed (nor a backup obviously...). Thats why I sent it to the service center...
When I got it back, I didnt abuse my phone as much (used it for call and text only) until I was finally able to install custom recovery ^_^
Important update
Hi guys
I had gone to the LG service station. Got my phone re-flashed with the latest firmware V10C . But the PC still can't detect the phone .
Now LG is giving me a new handset in exchange. They say its some problem with the hardware.

/mnt/mmc/Downloaded Data

Can one of the experienced devs please tell me how I can rename the internal SD card back to Phone when mounted in a windows machine?
Currently when I connect via MTP it shows as "/mnt/mmc/Downloaded Data" instead.
I have searched and this is happening on a couple of ROMs and not just my home build.
The other option, what am I removing that is causing this?
I've the same problem. I'm on JB dragon's rom .
Can someone with the problem try this fix and see if it works for them.
Please back-up first and post back if it works or not.
Thanks for trying
Not working

I have the same problem with my Galaxy Note, this is really gonna be a problem, as I can't view all my files in PC... The files shown in PC are not complete. So if this is not solved, the only choice will be permenantly switch to Mass Storage Mode.
I got this issue after updating my own Rom from XXEMA2 to XXEMR2, the internal memory now appears as "mnt/mmc/Downloaded Data" instead of "Phone", and I doubt the solution is the storage, because restoring the EMA2 backup (with twrp) I get back the Phone label in MTP.
no other solutions out there?
Update:
after few restarts, and cleaning the MediaStorage, now it is back OK

I faced the same problem installing Phoenix rom on Samsung Galaxy Note2 and corrected this way:
1. wipe data factory reset on CWM
2. Wipe cash partition
3.format system, data on mount and storage
4. install rom through aroma installer selecting full wipe.
Hello! Wipe didn't help me in this situation, but I found another way. You need to copy the folder "kies"(system/etc) from the official firmware.

I am new to Android and recently bought a Tab2 10.1 (SCH-I915). It is rooted and I deleted the system/etc/kies folder thinking it was remnants of the stand alone Kies program that I found out is not compatible with my device after having installed it . Now I have the same problem with internal memory showing up as /mnt/mmc/Downloaded Data. when connected to PC. Can someone send me a copy of the system/etc/kies folder so I can replace it?
I looked for a stock firmware for this tablet and can not find one to extract the folder from. I tried the firmware for a SCH-I925 but the folder contains different files and does not correct the problem.
I also did a factory reset but that did not replace/re-install the folder. It needs to be from a SCH-I915 model I suppose, Please help, If you have a SCH-I915 and could copy the entire folder and send it as an email attachment or .zip/.rar or if someone has found a place to download the SCH-I915 firmware I can extract it myself......
I know this thread is a bit older but hoping someone has a solution as this is the only place I found with any information about this.
Thanks for your time

Going from Stock to CM. Storage vanishes.

I'm trying to set up my girlfriends S3, but I have an issue.
When on stock rom, I can see the titanium backup folder with all the backups. In fact all the folders are there, SMS backups, images etc.
Since going to Cm10.1, the folders are gone. I used droid explorer to see if I've missed it. I made a folder in Cm10 called tester.
It appears 3 times now. And I have no idea where all my other files are. It's like it's blank.
But, if I restore back to stock, it's all there. Annoying.
I only installed 1 custom ROM. From what I know, you have to wipe your phone completely before the flashing process. I have smooth ROM installed on my nexus 7, works perfectly!
So I THINK if you want to install a custom ROM the right way, you have to wipe anyway..
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
The thing is, this worked before. I had a slight problem finding the files, but I have installed CM before on this, and never had this issue.
I could copy the files to my PC, wipe the phone and copy them back, but if I have to restore to the stock backup I made, it's going to break a lot of things surely?
Guys, seriously - this is asked every day.

It worked great. But there is one issue. Titanium backup works great, but if I connect my phone to PC, the storage is the blank set of folders. Gallery cannot find any pictures either. I've followed the instructions to the letter.
If I open File Manager, it shows me the 0 directory full of my files as it should, but on my PC or in the gallery it finds nothing but empty folders.
Try wiping data on the gallery app, in case something was restored from titanium perhaps.
I don't connect to a Windows PC regularly myself, so I'm not sure about that one. Have you rebooted since?

Wiping gallery data did the trick, thanks. Not sure why connecting to the pc shows empty folders.
It means I Can't save my camera photos, or add new roms to install in the future. Most puzzling.
Have you rebooted?
Infact reboot the PC too, whilst not connected to each other.
Sorry, yes I have. In fact, going into recovery after following the instructions and my backups are no there. Or rather "no files found". Using CWM Recovery v6. I've also lost my sms backup files. I can't even go back to stock if I wanted to.

As per my other thread, some recoveries still use the old location /data/media (which is really poor from those recoveries). To be clear, this is the recoveries fault for not keeping up with the times.
If you needed to restore from one of those recoveries, you would need to move the clockworkmod folder back. Or you could flash Philz recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002953
...which has a toggle to change to /data/media/0 to pick up 4.2 locations.
So to be clear, you have not lost anything. Everything is there. I don't know what sms backup app you have, but everything should just work. The apps all look for /sdcard (so they don't need to know if it is /data/media or /data/media/0) so as long as your data is in the right place, there shouldn't be an issue.
Some of these issues you're having (forgetting recovery) could be a result of a titanium backup restore. Perhaps you need to wipe the device from recovery and get things working without data that could be skewing the truth

Cant access files after flash! (SOLVED)

Hey, I just flashed my htc one phone using this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273376.
The problem is my phone starts up fine but I cant acess any of my internal storage through my pc. I also check in my storage are in my settions on my phone and it says unavaliable for my storage. I really need help solving this problem because ive tried everything and nothing seems to work. Im trying to flash using another rom but I cant access my files whatsoever so if anyone knows what is going on please help.
Thanks.
SOLVEDDDDD!
How did you solve it? I have the same issue and would like to avoid flashing another Rom just to move the data and then flashing back.

How did you solve this? I have the same issue and its causing me many problems with critical apps that need access to storage like the camera and dropbox..
Resolution would be helpful if posted
I've just flashed to the Bulletproof kernel and am experiencing no access to my sdcard therefore several features of my phone will not work. I cannot save files to the sdcard either but can view folders from my Windows computer. In recovery I can however browse to the sdcard but cannot save files when in recovery to the phone.
I've attempted to fix permissions and have wiped my phone countless times but am still having the issue. Any help on how it was resolved would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!!

Dont worry, copy all data to ext sd card and try flashing it with stock ROM, unrooting your device may leads to hard brick. Flashing will wipe all data so make sure you have backup.

You either didn't root it properly or you have trojan apk (virus applications) anyway copy your data by connecting it to PC make sure USB debugging is ON, if you are still unable to copy data to PC, I recommend you to give a try for copy data from internal SD to ext-sd. If anyone of this method work for you please do a flashing or having trouble in flashing please go to service centre for repairing this. Still having problem please let me know

Sad to hear that, all you can do is send photos and other data via share it to other device and after finishing that, do a factory reset, if you still having the same problem try flashing it with stock ROM or else go to service centre and ask them to do a flash.
