Hi guys,
I Just want to inform you that yesterday I updated my Xperia neo and got 2.3.4 build 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Does anybody know what are changes since previous build?
Using 4.0.2.A.0.62 I can not root using DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su,
So becareful, you may need to wait until some solution for rooting is found.
Is It Available For Neo V Too ... Cant Find In My Region.. Will Wait Till There Is Any Solution For Rooting
Which region are you in?
Screenshot of about phone?

I have rooted 4.0.2.A.0.62.
First I flashed InteksV15 kernel. After I used DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.
it's working
But after it will be running on Inteks kernel. You may need to extract original one from 4.0.2.A.0.62
and reflash it.

Thanks for the method will give a go today ......
I have my neo rooted with locked bootloader and 0.42 firmware.
If I upgrade to 0.62 ,I supposed it won't be rooted any more.
Right?
Any way to root it again with locked bootloader?

I can get the update, but I have an unlocked bootloader so I used flashtool. But I had a conversation with @SonyEricssonNL, and it turned out I have a scandinavian SI number.
I think you can just use flashtool to flash the ftf, also non-rooted.
Most of the roms I have found in XDA forumn are for MT11i. I would like someone to confirm that MT11i roms can be flashed for MT11a devices which use 850mhz baseband for its 3g, where MT11i use 900mhz baseband for its 3g. Someone please help me out. Thank you.
I would think that if you tick exclude baseband there should be no problems ;-)
If it were me I would make sure I had an original Rom to hand first and then just try it, flash the one you want to try, including baseband if you have network issues flash the baseband for the original ftf

May I ask if anyone can advise me where to download the ftf file for the MT11a ICS rom? As I have flashed the ICS for MT11i on my phone already, it operates without problem. However, now I'm not in my own country, so I can't test whether the 3g network will work without issues.

Why don't you update with PC companion and use its files with flash tool to make your own ftf file
Oh now I see that you already flashed mt 11i ftf.find a mt 11a gb rom.flash it and update with PC companion and make ftf I guess

want to use your custom rom for it is very great if thats proper grammar but i dont want to mess up at rooting stage so plz i know you will point me to reading but reading all thread no one seems to answer the question clearly for noobs like myself . do use the mt11i ftfs to root and everything
Mt11i and mt11a are the same device just different 3g bands, you can flash mt11i firmware to mt11a and it will continue working on 3g 850, only that it will show as mt11i in device info. I have an mt15a working perfectly with mt15i firmware. It is always a good idea to have a backup of your original firmware.

all i have to is not flash base band or its okay to do so and flashing custom it has to be flashed on ftf its based on and baseband in order for it to work properly for i really want to try xperia pureness as my first and only custom rom
p.s. the last question to clear my nerves and go ahead with flashing
I would try with your existing baseband to begin with, only flashing mt11i if you have problems

rooting which i have to do after flashing the firmware of mt11i with baseband excluded then follow proceedure . so with using a custom rom like xperia pureness which requires a baseband of .72 what do i do ? trying to get feedback from developer of rom but no such luck.
Basebands are recommended not compulsory.

Does anyone knows if t is possible to change the baseband from xperia u st25i to st25a?
I´ve tried to flash a branded rom from Telcel (st25a) in a phone with st25i, and in model number says that its a st25a but still has no 3G.

Your net provider might work in 2100 MHz frequency (since both a and i also support). In my country, the net provider only works in 900MHz that's why when flashing st25a within baseband the 3G won't work
I recently flash ICS ST25a ftf into my ST25i, and there is no network issues if we don't flash the baseband files (exclude baseband). So it's not hardware matter, just my thought.

Both st25i and st25a were uploaded earlier. Pop over to dev section and get the one you want, then flash with flashtool. If you choose st25a then make sure to exclude baseband in flashtool.
You can also root with flashtool after you flash ics.

Thank u sir! I will give Sony some more days to relase ICS for my Xperia U with SI 1262-0728. If they won't relase it, I will flash the ROM I found. I just wanna try to wait because I do want to lose the warranty.

Hello guys
I'm new here, I've just bought xperia u st25i and i wanted to know if it's possible to change baseband to st25a since i can't get 3g signal here in my country. If there's a way please let me know!!!!
You can't just change, it's different hardware.
HSDPA 900 / 2100 - ST25i
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 - ST25a
It will only work if your country uses 2100mhz, the others aren't supported by the hardware.
Can u provide me links for the fastboot, flastool, kernel and recovery
And easy bootloader instructions

Welcome to the Xperia Club Hope you like your new phone
Anyway, Here's FlashTool.. It includes Fastboot in the new versions so not needed
There are several kernels to try out, Munjeni's and GekTheBoss's for a sample.. You'll see them at the top of the Xperia U Development Thread. I think its simpler than me linking to it
Same goes for recovery (Personally recommend CWM Touch Recovery for Locked Bootloader )
Edit: Forgot about the Unlocking part :Check this out, seems simple enough : Unlock Bootloader for Xperia U
Cheers

Can I directly update from 6.0.B GB TO 6.1.B.1.54 ICS?
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
Yeah.. Just flash the FTF and it'll be fine Just make sure you use the right Baseband,ie, depeniding on ST25i or ST25a
I recommend 6.1.1.C.1.0 Its the smoothest of the 3 and although nearly same as B.1.54, tethering is broken in the latter ! In case you run ST25a phone, select the option to "Exclude Baseband" if you flash C.1.0.. Same thing with ST25i and B.1.54
Custom Roms can be installed as usual using CWM, custom kernels with Unlocked bl.etc etc

There are 2 spectrums of 3G which differ by country. the B.1.54 version is from a country which uses the GSM spectrum of ST25a. Hence, the baseband of that rom should be avoided otherwise, you wont get 3G Connectivity there, Similary, c.1.0 uses ST25i's supported baseband and hence, ignore baseband if you're using ST25a...
For you, either Flash C.1.0 directly or instead, flash B.1.54 with "Exclude Baseband" selected

Are you sure that .54 is for st25a? On this forum you can find ftf from Spain and it works fine on my st25i. I didn't exclude anything when I flashed my phone.
There was b.10 that was from Australia and it was for st25a.
Hm.. There must be multiple ftfs floating around.. The ones I have (which i think are the most common, not sure) were like that.. But I might be mistaken.. Just to be safe, when you open Flashtool, you'll see the correct f/w designated If Flashtool says its for st25i or st25a and you have the opposite device, Ignore Baseband Probably the more correct approach to it anyway Thx for pointing out my mistake
Cheers!
Wow, look at this place. This forum is a hell of a lot nicer than the Atrix section, which is filled with cynics. I just ordered this phone to replace my broken Atrix (unfixable corrupted partitions/broken wear leveller) mainly due to official ICS (which Atrix doesn't even have, lol) and the price. Currently reading through these forums so i can flash easier when it arrives. I know of FlashTool (helped a friend flash his Xperia Ray or something) and it's a very nice package.
Now done with everything flashed 1.54 and flashed brains ROM...suggest some best roms guy's
