I have unlocked bootloader, root, S-off, had been on Trickdroid 8.0 ROM.
Then I purchased SIM unlock from www.chronicunlocks.com (the best unlock service I know of)
Then I removed SIM card to use in different phone. Then installed 4.3 Developer Edition ROM, in preparation for selling phone.
When it booted up, it offered me the Dropbox deal, so of course I accepted. I now have 25GB more Dropbox space for the next 2 years!
I'm thinking because there was no SIM in phone, and phone was carrier unlocked, and international ROM installed, the AT&T restriction was bypassed, Dropbox had no way of knowing that the phone was not the international version.
So, for $24.95 I got an unlocked phone and 25GB more Dropbox space!
YMMV.
It was just the custom ROM. I unlocked my phone right away ($3 from eBay), rooted, and s-off, but didn't get anything. Then I installed a custom ROM (ARHD) and the next time I opened Dropbox I was immediately offered the 25 GB 2 year bonus.

I got the phone back in June for my birthday, but mainly bc it was the most expensive phone from T-Mobile & it looked cool & imean with the Father's Day promotion it was free so Why not? It got me away from AT&T. Well I had fun with the phone but got tired of the constant freezing, so I bought the Nexus One on EBay
It cut me off! Anyway my friend wanted to use my HD2 with Android since I'm not using it so I did factory reset, wiped SD card, upgraded it to most recent Stock Rom: 3.14.531.1 (04666) WWE, and used HSPL3 to unlock (she has AT&T). And I put an android image on SD card for her so she's good to go. But when she put her sim card in it, she couldn't get past WinMo w/out an unlock code. So what should I do? HSPL? HSPL2?

You will need to call or e-mail T-Mobile for the unlock code. They will send it to you via e-mail a couple of days after your request. That is how mine was done. Just let them know that you need to unlock it so that you can use your phone overseas.

hspl has nothing to do with your carrier. roms are independent of carriers (tmo, att). actually, from what i have read 3.14 is not that compatible with hspl - eats a lot of memory.
as noted above, call tmo (say you are leaving the country and need to use it.) there are internet services that can help too from what i read (have never used them.)
Very fustrating situation for about 10 weeks now.....
My Atrix is a "Motorola" one, and not with any AT&T logo. I bought it brand new from Amazon over 2 months ago. With help from the XDA-Developers forums, I first unlocked the bootloader, then I upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3.4 Gingerbread (4.5.91). I then rooted the phone so I could install apps that require a rooted phone such as Titanium Backup Pro. All these procedures went very smoothly.
This was over 2 months ago before Motorola released 2.3.4. I did open a Motoblur account and thru Blur I loaded software back into the phone thru Google. Everything works with my Atrix except for making phone calls, I more recently did a "factory reset", then sent it back to the Motorola repair facility, and now it is there again for a 3rd time.
I have an AT&T GoPhone account. When the phone boots up with an AT&T SIM card installed, it goes to the "SIM Network Unlock Pin" request screen. I have worked with both Motorola and AT&T tech support personnel for many, many hours to get my Atrix to accept the unlock code I have been given from AT&T (22314992). The Atrix response is always "Network unlock pin unsuccessful".
The phone otherwise works beautifully after a fastboot cold boot (wi-fi, program installs & usage, etc). But one simple problem...I can not make phone calls.
Motorola Case #110908-002725
WIth both AT&T and Motorola techs we have tried 5 different SIM cards, 2 post-pay accounts, and 1 GoPhone account. The phone is presently with Motorola for the 3rd time. This time I am requesting them to test my Atrix with a GoPhone SIM card and for them to attempt to unlock the phone. I asume that the first 2 times they only reinstalled software. Unfortunately, Motorola will not let me communicate directly with their repair department.
I strongly desire to maintain my GoPhone account for my Atrix. I should not be required to have a post-pay account. I now think that the problem is not simply a SIM card problem. Perhaps at this point Motorola should replace my Atrix with a new one.
Suggestions please???
If you bought it directly from Motorola / ATT (as in - if you phone has warranty) and they can't get it to work even with ATT, they should replace it.
If your purchased it without warranty you are SOL.
OP
Did you ever get your Motorola Atrix unlock code to work?
I have a Motorola Atrix that came with 2.3.4 GB and it will not accept the unlock code.
Awaiting your reply.
I got mine from Ebay and the dealer sent me an unlock code with it and no problem when I entered it...I tried with a Tmobile sum and it worked sans 3g.
Maybe its the wrong code they
gave to you by accident

My Atrix Was Replaced by Motorola
The Motorola repair facility got in a large shipment of new Atrix cellphones this past Monday. They started distributing them to those individuals who were having serious repair problems (rather than repairing the old ones). I got mine this morning and I can now finally make phone calls. Now I have to figure out again how to root my Atrix so I can use Titanium Pro again to load my backup files into my new Atrix.
So i rooted my new unactivated AT&T I527 Mega today. I have not activated yet because i am still debating on keeping it. I bought it in Costco and have about 8 days till i need to make the final decision. It has super user status.
Is it correct that a modded rom must be installed or flashed before simlock is removed? I have an old AT&T HTC Inspire where i rooted way back and installed a custom rom and can accept any sim card. I was in Taiwan this past summer and bought a sim card in a 7-11 in Taiwan and used that phone without any issues. I would like to make my new Mega do the same.

Hi,
I just got an HTC ONE T-Mobile and I unlocked it. But now I would like to delete all the T-Mobile settings and Apps. So I thought about flash the HTC ONE with a Stock Rom from HTC or Google. But I'm a little bit lost. I'm new on Android. I was 5 years with Apple products and now i'm tired and I fell in love with that phone. So I trade my IPhone 5 64go for the HTC ONE 32go Also the guy didn't pay his bill for T-Mobile so that's why I unlocked it to put my new carrier. I don't know how to fix that problem if a day I want to go back to T-Mobile (but supossedly he still paying for it).
Thanks for your time.
Eventually that phone is going to be black listed from all U.S. carriers. He's not going to continue paying for a phone he doesn't have anymore, and there is nothing you can do to the phone that will hide the fact that it's associated with that non-payment. You made a mistake. Never buy a used phone, especially knowing it it's not paid off.
As said above ^ . Once black listed by one company it will begun to get black listed by the others.
Cellphone cairries have really crack down on stolen/ non paid phones.
But as far as the Rom goes, your need to root it and then flash a HTC Google Rom.
I checked the IMEI and it's not blacklisted. I'll see with the time. Can I flash my HTC with a stock rom without all the T-Mobile stuff and the boot logo T-Mobile like a Htc stock rom with OTA or a Google version OTA?

Yes. You might need to change CID/MID to get OTAs though.
back in aug i bought a s9+ sprint version, when i bought it i poped in my tmobile sim and it has worked fine no issues, i have no idea if the phone has been paid off or not but i havent had any issues for 6+ months, but when i click the UICC unlock it says error cannon be completed internal error 407, do i just go ahead and install the t-mobile rom? or is there any benifit of using an international rom or something? also is there any way i can check if my device has an upaid ballance?
Call Sprint, if the phone is paid for they can remove the UICC lock (Best Buy did this on my S7 when I traded it in for the S9+).
