If you want fastboot -As long as it show blue led which is for fastboot then it's okay
If you want flashmode -As long as it show green led which is for flashmode then it's totally okay just proceed to the next steps ( flash ftf )
Blue for fastboot
Green for flashmode
try rebooting into fastboot via adb...

My phone is not being detected by flash tool in flashmode. I even reinstalled it and i 've installed the flashtool drivers as well. Im running 4.0.4 and i wanted to root it. So thought of flashing 4.0.3 kernel, root it and then flash 4.0.4 kernel. But it is not detected.
Any thoughts pls?

Hello bro. There is a well known conflict in windows 7(and up) driver installation. If you have xp, then everything will work like a charm.
To clarify...
Fastboot : blue led. Volume up+device connect via usb.
Flashmode : green led. Volume down+device connect via usb.
Meanwhile I'll give you a link on how to install drivers in windows 7.

Well, I've been trying to install a custom ROM on my Xperia Sola, but it won't go into fastboot
Tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26875204&postcount=4
I've managed to install usb drivers on my phone using this, but it still won't go into fastboot
Any help?
Edit:
Just to be clear... blue LED is fastboot right?
cause its always purple, then when I try to activate fastboot it goes blue for half a second, then goes purple again

I've tried this
My phone's LED turns purple, then the flashtool says it's in fastboot mode [Which isn't, cause it should be blue, right?]
And to check I want to fastboot folder, tried to check with command prompt if he recognizes my deice, and he didn't :\
while in that condition [Purple LED, flashtool says fastboot] I tried to press power+volume up. The LED Turned blue for about 1 second, then went purple again and then red [rebooting itself into charging mode]
Thanks for the help by the way

Try different USB port and make sure driver is installed.
Install the PC Companion, then connect the phone and let the phone install the drivers needed (When the pop up appears on the phone, select ok).
See if that works. This phone has a problem with Windows 7.
Otherwise, if you have a windows XP phone, you can get into fastboo there.
My experience - if your phone is "Bootloader Unlock Allowed = No", then you cannot access fastboot mode, only Flash mode. That's my experience from XU
same problem with xperia go

I have this exact problem.
I can enter flashmode, but not fastboot mode.
I believe I have rooted my phone however.
Here's a video of me attempting to set it in fastboot
Somebody please help!!
I bricked my phone. I had my phone rooted and installed a modified rom based on .89 compilation. I wanted to change to one based on the 100, and after install it I lost install this kernel root. Then I tried to root the phone again but the flashtool did not recognize the phone. I was advised to do so through the Fasttool and I did. I installed the drivers for fastboot and then I did:
fastboot flash boot boot.img (boot.img was along with the rest of fastboot files). After "fastboot reboot" and the phone was shut down and no longer has reignited.
Now the only thing that appears is a green light turns off immediately and nothing else. The flashtool still do not acknowledge either the computer now.
Can you help?
Try to flash stock firmware again if flashtools doesn't recognize the phone try to restart your pc after install the driver. I have this problem before .and it still connect 2 flash mode. If that doesn't work try on another pc

It's an Xperia U. Now only the frontal red light comes on when I plug the computer. The LEDs do not light neither with vol + or vol -..
Take the battery out for a minute and try flash mode or fastboot mode again.
Do not just plig it to the PC before you do.
Please try this proven way to install fast boot and flash drivers

It's fixed. In a laptop with windos xp I tried to follow the last instructions of nosmaster but could not install fastboot drivers. Then I decided to install PC Companion to see if this installed the drivers from the phone directly and not only installed the drivers but updated the phone and finally returned to work.
Thanks to all
Good to hear its sorted

Hey guys, before i start i like to say that i searched the forum at least 2 hour and other sites as well. My problem is;
my phone (Xperia Neo V) got stuck in bootloop when i was refreshing the mails in gmail app and it asked me to refresh automatically and i said yes after i said res it got stuck.
I tried to enter the recovery with volume buttons and home key and tapping the screen it didn't work. My phone was rooted and i was using a custom 4.0.4 rom (Unfortunately i didnt remember the name of the rom since i was using it over a year with no problem).
I also tried flashtool and sus from sony website both of them didn't recognise my phone when i plugged in the computer. Even my computer doesn't recognize my phone at all.
So here i am helpless, seeking for a help?
Is fastboot or flashmode working? If fastboot working, flash any other custom ics kernel like suave and flash the rom again.. It has custom recovery.. If flashmode working, flash stock ftf using flashtool.. You will lose root but your phone will boot up for sure..
Regards,
vishal_android freak
1)Just download the .ftf file
2)Install drivers from flashtool>drivers folder, during installation don't forget to tick flashboot option
3)move the .ftf file to firmware folder of flashtool
4)start flashtool and turn on mobile and connect with USB
5)click on bolt sign and go flash boot, disconnect mobile and connect in flshboot mode(holding back button put in USB)
6)it will flash it self, done... If I helped u please give me thanks
