[Q] use GL to SD and Link2sd side by side?? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have used link2sd to link all my apps to my sd card.
But link2sd doesn't move the data, it only moves apk and cache and library files.
I have asphalt 7 with a data of about 1 gb, and I can use Gl to sd to move the data.
But on Gl to sd download page it is said that it will interfere with other mount scripts and all that.
My question : is it safe to use Gl to sd and link2sd side by side, or will it cause any problems???

Which android version does your phone have????

try link2sd,
i dont know only one thing: where this program move files (apk+cache) cause i dont see them in /sd-ext and app2sd app (i forget about uninstalling it) is showing that app is in internal storage but internal storage free memoory is like it was before moving.
EDIT: after reboot it is in data/sdext2 folder (before in /data folder).

Install app's on extSD card?

Hi I'm new with my SGSIII,
I can install app's on my (ext sd card)?
I have currently partitioned as follows:
(13.1Gb Fat 32, + 882Mb Swap2 + 960 Mb Ext3) (16 GB) level 4
My phone is not root, and is still new factory and is free.
All apps are installed on internal memory. But you can transfer apps data to ext sdcard.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 I8160L+SD CARD

Hi,
As u can see in the title, I own a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 I8160L.
It has 4gb internal storage but only about 1.1gb user available. Most of the more exciting games have data that are 1.5gb and more.
Is there a way to install these games and have the sd data go to my external micro sd card and not the internal 1.1gb 'sd card'?
Thanks in advance, Nate
Are you root? Because you could try Directory Bind
Im not rooted as yet. And im not familiar with directory bind. Will look it up tho.

Is there any root free solution tho? I will root but only as a laat resort

Yeah, I am also looking for some root free method to swap sd card and external card in my galaxy ace 2.
I dont really know why in samsung phones our external sd card is nt treated as an sd card.
I had htc one v prior to this phone and atleast one good thing abt that phone was it would move apps to external sd card not to internal storage like samsung phones.
Now with this phone (galaxy ace 2), external sd card size is quite irrelevant for apps, coz this phone counts the internal usb storage which is only 1GB as sd card.
Anyways if u find any root free method to swap storage, plz post it here too.
Thanks.

Thanks for your response.
But I donot want to root my phone :-$
I am not expert at it, so dont want to take the risk. Plus this phone has a little community, so in case if something goes wrong with rooting, it might become difficult to find help...
I think I wld have to bear this storage issue. :-S

I think rooting is my only solution to get sd data to work from my sd card. But im not sure my model is root-able. I have the I8160L, can't even find the original firmware online

Thanks for the link.
Did u try it? Does it move the app to external card? Or to the usb/internal storage?
And i think (not sure) as far as app data is concerned, it does not take too much of storage, so it shd not be an issue.
And i m not an expert in rooting, so i think i wont go for it. But lets see.

Yea it works for most apps. And if not. When u move them to the sd card thru the app manager they move to the external storage. This doesn't apply to system apps or the large sd data files that accompany those huge games that need additional data.

Okay right.
Actually the problem is when we go to settings-apps-sd card, it shows the usb/internal storage there, not the actual external sd card. So when i move any app to sd card (which is moveable), it is moves to the internal usb storage (which the phone considers as sd card storage).
But i ll give this trick a try.
And one last thing how did u confirm it that with this trick, apps are now being moved to external storage and not to the internal usb storage?

Checked the storage before and after moving apps. And also i took my sd card out. Put it in a card reader and found the apps in a folder on the micro sd card called android secure

Solution to this is rooting, and using directory bind. I currently have asphalt 7(1.4gb) Real racing 2, Dead Space, Shadow Gun etc installed and running fine from my external sd card
GB
Jellycream rom will sort that out, it swaps the vold file and you will be able to download bigger files.
can i?
can i play games form external sd card like games 1.8 and .15 gb ?
Nice

can you move games/apss to EXT SD?

I got my S2 rooted. can I move these games from the internal and sd memory to my REAL EXTERNAL SD card?
And still have the icons @ the same place @ dekstop and play them directly?
How would I do this?
Thanks.
Use Link2SD app. You can also create a second part of your sd-card with MiniTool Partition Wizard for Windows then link your apps to this 2nd part. Root needed.

[Help] how to move obb data to sd card

Dear friends
I am using LG Optimus L9 running on stock rom with unlocked bootloader and of course rooted, it is nice phone but the main problem is that it has only 2.3 gb of usable internal memory, I have partitioned my sd card and using link2sd for linking app to 2nd partition but I'm not able to move heavy obb files to sd card, games like GTA, Asphalt etc can't be played by me because they have heavy obb files
Some body told me use GL2SD to move them but I am not sure whether it will work or not
Please tell me is there any other way to move obb files to sd, if i had to use GL2SD then how it will work?
