Hi everyone
I have 2 HTC ones right now
I've heard about how great the low light performance and the audio quality is supposed to be on this phone and with my first one I wasn't impressed so I figured it was just over hyped
got a second one in the mail and this one is VASTLY superior in both regards
The first one has a ton of grain in low light shots
and fairly low volume speakers
the 2nd is significantly better for camera and much louder speakers
do you think this is something HTC would view as a defect even though both work technically?
is there anything at all I can do to remedy either?
I can't really demonstrate the sound but here's a picture taken with each camera
I set it to iso 1600 for both
no other adjustments
it seems like it's letting in way too much light but I lowering the exposure doesn't help

I would easily be able to say I'm just going to sell the one that doesn't work as well.............but here's the kicker. It seems to get better battery life and it runs smoother with no hiccups despite it always benching slightly less
I don't know if it matters but both are stock running 4.3. One from Rogers(bad camera/sound) One from Telus(good camera/sound but slightly worse performance)
Yea I totally agree..HTC needs to improve their quality control...HTC promised the problem was software related yet when I updated my dads HTC one, to 4.3, it still has the problem..definitely a bad sensor..and since its impossible to open the phone, its also impossible to swap out the camera module..I'm gonna try to talk with HTC again or will be forced to sell..

I bought an HTC One for my wife and I (64gb variants, both second hand from different sources), and both cameras on them are very, VERY blurry. On my wife's phone, you can slap the back of the phone, and the camera will suddenly focus for a few minutes, then go back to being totally blurry. On my phone, its ALWAYS blurry, no matter what. This has been a point of contention for many folks on the web (Google it!), and no matter how much you clean the lens, use touch-to-focus, or different apps, it all comes out to the same thing.
Further, I get the blue "graininess" exhibited by the previous poster in my low-light conditions. HTC needs to step up to the plate, and fix this problem on their "flagship" phone!
And for Bob: The first digits in my device's serial number are: HT349w9
dang. i saw a guy with a serial number ht34 and his camera was perfect. was hoping it was a batch thing, but i guess not.

I believe that means your battery is overheating. I think it happened to me on my og EVO once. I set my phone down turned it off came back later and it was all better!

Yeah..pretty common with some evo3d's..the battery isnt making good contact on the points..just put a little piece of cardboard or something between battery and the inner rim of the phone to help push the battery into the gold points of the phone..I had this problem and never seen it again after doing this.

LMAO go talk to Sprint and get a new phone. These so called "fixes" are the reason why manufacturers don't give a **** about quality products anymore, too many people settle with broken ****.
Oh and by the way, let's say his battery is overheating and he takes your advice; cardboard/paper catches fire... And he now has no phone.

pretty sure he can tell if his phone is over heating if he really wanted to..the cardboard is no where near where the battery connects to the points. So if it magically catches fire then I guess you would be right..As for the manufactures not caring about quality control sure I get your point. But thats not the point of the thread. He asked why its happining and there are only 2 ways it has ever happend to me.Over heating and/or battery not making good contact..Just offered a simple "fix" for the moment. If it doesn't fly with him then he can go waste his time getting a replacement that may very well do the same thing.
What kernel are you using? That can have an affect on it too

According to another thread, this phenomenon is known as "randomly sausage". (I really hope I'm not the only one that understands this)
Hello,
Of a similar bent, multiple times since I had a Refurbished 3D sent to me, the Battery has drained to zero whilst being plugged in to the Charger. This has primarily occurred when plugged into the Wall as opposed to say my Laptop. It happened again this Morning.
When I insert a different Battery, it seems to fix the problem and the 3D Charges as usual. However, this is one damn annoying issue.
Cheers,
JJ

I don't get it.
i'v seen the AMAZE and i kinda like it's design but i dont know jack about it

what im asking is this :

they had? :|
hope that was answering your Q
Camera is awesome, you will need to put a piece of electrical tape between the sensor and light (there is a whole thread on it). This is because of a design flaw which lets light in underneath the cover between the sensor and led flash which leads to a washed out/lighter right side of the photo if you are taking a photo in darker conditions. After its taped its fine, it was the first thing I did after noticing it.
The camera has a ton of options, Im not too sure what the SGSII has but I've also read a bunch of reviews on camera comparisons between these 2 phones and the iPhone 4s and iPhone and Amaze were given the best ratings although the iPhone has less options.
Backlight bleeding on the amaze from the bottom where the buttons are. You can download Screen Filter and turn off the light for these buttons which solves the problem although your buttons wont light up, doesnt bother me though. Theres also a thread on this with pictures.
The battery is a little lacking on the amaze (the screen consumes the most). So if you dont turn it on a lot it will last for a decent time. Flashing custom rom (Quiksense 3.0) also helps.
The build quality seems to be much better than the SGSII. I like the dedicated buttons (not sure if SGSII has a camera button).
If camera is very important to you I would go for the amaze, although the GSII is still decent.
Bigger batteries can be ordered for around $20-30. This plus custom rom should be good enough for most. I get about a day avg. If I use my phone a lot for watching videos on the internet then I may end up having to charge before the day is over. I just flashed quiksense 3.0 yesterday so I will have to see how much it helps out.

My wife's old iphone 4 seems to take way better low light pics and video (HAM2 camera is jittery when taking low-light video, not smooth at all) Are there any camera tweaks to be done? any settings to change? Thanks!
The B148 update supposedly helped a bit, but I haven't tested it yet. But if you've already updated, I'm afraid there's not much else to do.
Phones like ours are cheap for a reason, meaning they have to be "bad" somewhere. Cameras are never good on Androids of this price range.

That's cool, I understand. I guess the majority of pics & videos happen outside in the light anyway. Thanks. p.s. I figured out how to silence the camera and video camera sounds using ES file manager, so that's good.

Sure. I followed this link and scrolled to the bottom where it talks about rooted devices. You're basically just adding a small addendum to the camera sound file names in the system. Works for me, but who knows what the long-term effects will be. Do this at your own risk, I take no responsibility for your actions. Do not do this if it is illegal in your country, check your laws.
Some third-party camera apps will give you additional options, like higher ISO, that are not available in the stock Huawei camera. lgCamera has been mentioned in another thread here. I'm partial to OpenCamera. Paid options like A Better Camera provide additional modes. But even with all these options, I think the limiting factor for low-light photography with the HAM2 is focus. It becomes very uncertain in anything less than bright light.
Sweet, it works! You should make a thread for it, I reckon.

Will do.
I work sports leagues and tournaments and get a lot of teams asking me to take their picture. Sadly, it seems that ANY iPhone takes better pictures than anything I've dragged out there. In order of my use- Optimus V, Samsung S2, Note 2, and a Nokia 520; also a few small tablets, usually wrapped up on the beach so no pictures there.
Once I realized that the HAM2's camera software doesn't allow flash when in HDR mode, I began looking at other camera software on Google Play. I recently bought Open Camera. It has so many more options, including flash when in HDR mode and a night mode. Here are photos taken on a walk today taken in HDR mode with the phone software and Open Camera.

I have used the new OnePlus 2 for a few week
Ugly design, but the crafting is good
Thicker body, but feel good in hands
Camera has OIS, but not Sony sensor
Home button with fingerprint sensor, not quite sensitive
Oxygen OS not finalize yet, lots of bugs
Prefer OnePlus One more ...

Pls tell me it has SD card slot
Looks like a dog, but not as bad as the TENAA leaks, but way short of any wow factor the One had. OP are really going to have to market this to get any longevity out of this Samsung/LG mishmash
SD card?
And how is the temperature?

Is there a Lite model or just a OnePlus 2?
Does it have an IR Blaster?
How is the sound quality of the speakers?
Is that a mute switch on the side of the device?
Looks just fine to me. What about the screen size and resolution?
Now you got me curious
That IR blaster question even more
Could you please post some full resolution sample pictures taken with the camera?
Does it still have a option for on screen navigation buttons?
Guys those are real but idk why they are leaked.
More pictures in high resolution?
This is just short beta preview, actually it means nothing, guys, just wait for full video preview, i think someone will make in next 24h after VR launch
Anyway it looks nicer than before
It's definitely sleeker than the original leaked images led us to believe. Based on what he just posted on the front page, this is the A2001, which is the lite version of the phone. The A2003 is the higher end model and will look somewhat different (potentially).
I edited the OP to make the links active - and it looks like there is an imgur album

Best guess I've seen is a mute switch.
thanks @jerdog for fixing.
@chinaleakking - thank you for sharing -- can you describe what you mean by "not quite sensitive" ?
Does it have a micro SD card slot??? If so, this is definitely a 2016 flagship killer.

Hello!
I recently purchased an Honor 10 and noticed that it had a weird screen-issue that was only noticable while displaying certain pictures. The screen would turn a bright shade of pink and green while swiping between images in the gallery before rendering them in their correct colours. I also noticed that when I took screenshots they would come out with really washed out colours. I sent the phone back and ordered a new one from the same retailer since they're the only ones who stock the 128gb model in my country, and when the new unit arrived earlier today I found out it has the exact same issue. I called support to make sure that they didn't just send me back the same unit and they're adamant that it isn't and that the IMEI numbers are different. Has anyone else encountered this issue or am I really unlucky to get it twice in a row? I tried doing factory resets on both phones but the issue remains.

Hello! Thank you for replying! Mine was set to vivid, so I changed it. Really odd thing though is that I sent the second phone I had issues with back yesterday and settled for another retailer with the 64gb model, and today when it arrived I find that it has the exact same issue! Really not sure whether I'm doing something wrong or if I'm astronomically unlucky since that's 3 in a row now. At first I thought the images that get the discolouration issues might be corrupted or something like that, but I've downloaded others from google and gotten the same result anyway. Every time I take a screenshot the result comes out with less colours as well, so if I do it multiple times I get multiple copies of the same image with a gradient effect. I really love the phone other than these issues, so it's a bit distressing.
Seems impossible.
You get this problem since before you install any app?
Maybe the lighting in your house gives a weird effect on the materials used in this phone.
3rd one same problem is crazy.

Yep, no apps installed. I skipped the sync and wifi-connection and everything when I first started it so I could see if it worked properly. I don't think it has anything to do with the lightning in my house, I did a screen recording to show the issue so I could send it to Huawei support and ask about it, and you can tell even on my PC screen that the discoloration is very evident and the screenshot issue as well. That would indicate that it's a software issue, wouldn't it? I tried to attach the recording to my OP but I can't post links yet since my account is new. Not sure if I want to risk ordering another one, I will wait for their support to reply to me and see what they say!
Probably hardware problem.
I would return it and buy another one from a different source.
Probably a lot of bad batches got sent out?
