You have to replace root.fs and initrd.img in your \ProgramData\BlueStacks\Android folder folder, BOTH those files must be replaced, when you do so however you will loose all your apps and things related to them so choose wisely
If that fails then uninstall Bluestacks completely (when it asks you if you want to keep your Android apps and data say NO, because if you dont it will not let you reinstall a version of Bluestacks other than you had, then reinstall Bluestacks and root it. You can get any version of Bluestacks that has been released from here (Offline installers ofcourse! ) http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/BlueStacks_App_Player and theres several root files in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1298332&page=33, dont forget to use the root files that have the same version as Bluestacks is.
And no, you cannot update the version of Android within Bluestacks unless you update Bluestacks itself, oh btw, Bluestacks recently released their ICS version! so now you dont have to be stuck with crappy Android 2.3! its been rooted even! (check that thread i linked for info about that and root files)

i rooted bluestack last week but yesterday i unistalled it because after i disable same apps and make mods it doesnt stary anymore (

You mean disabling some apps in the rooted version of bluestacks makes bluestacks not be rooted anymore?
---------- Post added at 12:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:20 AM ----------
By any chance was the app you disabled Busybox or SuperSU? you need those and shouldnt disable/uninstall them or else apps that require root will fail

Hope your problems with bluestacks are now solved guys

You can install it like other APKs. But FWIW, it will install over the old version and leave behind the old data, doubling the amount of space that the app uses. If you want to avoid that, you can use one of the alternate installation methods described here. I personally use Root Explorer to install new versions of Market, overwriting the older Vending.apk.

Is there a way to force my phone to update to the new android market? I never got pushed the update and still have the same market since when I got my phone in July.

Whether or not you're rooted, you can grab the new updated Market .apk file from anybody who has posted.
Simple command through adb: adb install -r c:\downloads\Market.apk .
This should move the apk file into /data/app, which should not require root access and will load the updated version of the Market.
This method is used for most of Google products which come on the device in /system/app, but later an updated apk is released. The internal android package manager knows to grab the most recent version and to check both /data/app and /system/app in order to determine the most recent version.
Hope that helps!
My girlfriend's Evo 3D is in the same boat, still on the old market, so she doesn't have access to the books, music, or movies. She's a bit leary of me downloading an app from a forum (I know, really no harm), is there a way to force the update from within the market itself? If not, any reliable download links?
Edit: Actually, I'm curious. Does anyone that just has a stock Evo3D have the new market? Seems all the talk on the forums (after doing several searches) is about downloading the new market apk, not getting pushed an update.

I just bumped the new market for you. It's in the theme and apps section here on this forum. Check it out. Nd you don't have to be rooted just uninstall old market and install this one.
Or if your rooted and you are not near a computer just just root explorer ( or whatever else you use to access the root of your phone) and go to system/apps and search for vending apk delete that one and replace it with the one you just downloaded. Set permissions to
XX

Then you shld be good to go. If the new market doesn't show up just reboot your phone

To clarify, as I posted above, you don't have to remove the old market. System partition is locked for non root users. Only have to load the new market apk file into the /data/app directory.
The package manager is intelligent enough to check version numbers on both .apk files and determine which one is the newest version.
Also, as quoted in my previous post above, this is the same approach taken by any application shipped stock on a system that is later updated. The updated apk file is placed in /data/app and the original stock apk is left in /system/app as the /system partition is considered read only and should not be modified, by Android operating standards.

I'm on stock rooted ROM and the market update has not been pushed to me.
On my NS4G, the market update came along with Google Wallet and the Android 2.3.7 OTA.
Hope that extra information helps eliminate an extra step for those leary of modifying their system partition and provides more information to the internal workings of Android!
No duhh so you don't have to delete it. All this time

[Q] Daxian TD888 MTK6589 ROM help?

I'm in need of some kinda urgent help and advice regarding a phone i have just purchased for my mother.
I've bought her a cheap Daxian TD888 on the MTK6589 chipset and i'm afraid i have been a silly boy and not done my research before purchasing - I was under the impression that it came with the Play Store installed etc and sadly, it comes with a hard to use chinese ROM.
Mothers being mothers, mine isn't anywhere near tech/phone friendly and this is her first smartphone (upgrade from a 6 year old Nokia/symbian brick) so i was wanting to get her onto a nice and simple stock android 4.1 or 4.2 or even a CMxx that i can just help her along with.
After some very panic based searching today, i'm not seeing much that can help me... infact... nothing regarding this phone at all.
So... have I been a dumbass and bought her a lemon or is there anyone that can help me out with advice or pointers on how to get a normal android ROM on this thing?
I'm not massively experienced with rooting but have managed it a couple fo times in the past on my old Nexus One.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I could probably help you get it rooted and that would allow you to install Play store on it as well as delete any chinese apps that sometimes come on the MT65XX devices if interested. As far as the rom goes, is there not an option in settings to change language to English? I have bought a few MediaTek devices directly from china, when I received the phone it had english on it already but when I reset the phones I would have to go into Settings and change chinese language back to english.
Motochopper should root your phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252248
One thing with these phones is that the android version is not always what is shown in Settings > About phone. Try using this tool from the first post of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490&styleid=18
make sure you enable USB debugging on your phone first and it will help tell which version of android you are really running. If kernel say 2.6.xx you are on GB 2.3, if it is 3.0.xx then you are on ICS and if it says 3.4.xx then you are JB. I bought a MT6575 that said android version 4.0 in settings, it said gingerbread 2.2 on the box (I know 2.2 is Froyo), then on bottom of box it said Froyo 2.2!
Thanks Klown80 -
I'm just into work now so I'll have to hook it up to my own PC and root when i get home later... i'm just in full on panic mode over this (its a time sensitive issue as she's due to be in hospital for an extended period and i want to get this right for her before then)
Regarding the language settings in the current/stock rom, it has english US selected and while a lot of the language is in english, pretty much ALL popup dialogs are in chinese and the browser is unusable (all chinese text based) so... hence the panic.
I was (foolishly) thinking it would just be a simple enough flash to CM or stock android and hey presto - full english ROM.
I hate it when i don't do my homework first.
So... you recommend the root first, check exact android version number and go from there?
Even if it turns out to be an older 2.1/2.2/whatever version, i'd be happy enough to get something stock and full english based on there if its possible.
As she's never had a smart phone, it will all seem super smooth and flashy to her anyway.
I have now rooted (i think..) however, the superuser app comes up with an error upon opening -
superuser binary (su) must be updated
and i now i'm kinda stuck.
I have downloaded and tired various versions of the play store and while the at first allow me to enter google accounts details, it always crashes after that.
Every time i open the play store app, it just closes again.
Any suggestions on where i might be going wrong?

Sounds like you need to update the binary then, if it allows you. If not then the root did not correctly root your device and we will have to go back a step and get that fixed first. As for Play Store, it usually takes more than just the Play.apk file to put Play Store on your device if it did not come with it stock. You also need (I am going off top of my head, I can give you exact names later) Google services framework.apk, Google login services.apk, Google Play services.apk. You need to have root to to this because you will need to move the vending.apk to /system folder and possibly change permissions on the apk before you install it. Once we can confirm root I can help you install a working Play Store if you like.

I've no idea how to update the binary so I guess i'm looking at a re-root.
I have had the usual issues of drivers not wanting to work (the Motochopper root process getting stuck at the daemon starting point) but I've manged to get the process to work twice so far.
(I've tried 4 different driver packages and they have all given the same results)
Could you possibly advise on how to update the binary file for superuser? I've just tried the root again and it skipped installing superuser as it was already found on the phone.. i haven't felt this noobllike in some time!

Try uninstalliong Superuser or SuperSU and try again. Su binary should ask you if you want to update when you first open SuperSU, if you have Superuser, then you will need to open the app and go into settings to update binary.

Its now running ok. Now that superuser is working... whats next?

Ok, is it just Superuser and not SuperSU correct? Can you go into settings in Superuser and towards the bottom there should be an option to update su binary. If it is SuperSU it will ask to update on its own when you open it. either way make sure it lets you update binary. Once binary is updated download and install any app that asks for root acces, so we can see if superuser request pops up.
Once we have confirmed root we can move onto installing Play Store. To do this you will need to be able to install a file explorer like ES file explorer so we can install the files we need for working Play Store.

In the superuser settings, there isn't anything apparent for trying to update the su binary.
the list reads as follows:
Security

Notifications (on)
Backup apps/preferences

HUGE thanks to Klown80 for the advice and patience!
For anyone else in a similar situation with an MTK6589 cheapo phone, and had issues with the Motochopper root method (the root getting stuck at 'daemon started successfully' etc etc.....
Klown80's chinese root tool works a treat. You will have a chinese superuser app that may be a little annoying (you might be able to swap it for SuperSU or something but I had issues doing that so i've kept the chinese one) but the root works perfectly and the instructions given by Klown80 in the linked thread are very easy to follow.
I still had some issues with getting google services installed so you may want to look for a play store installer workaround - I know there is a cheeky little chinese mod apk that can be used to get the play store working, but i can't post it here.
Should anyone come across this thread and know of a good, stock english rom that I might be able to use, please leave a comment!

[Q] How to disable Playstore Updates?

Hi guys,
just got my new phone and unfortunately i had to realize, that there are some apps i cant install.
I know that this issue depends on my Playstore, so i want to install a custom playstore with no restrictions.
Did this many times on other phones and never got problems.
But this time there is a problem:
I can install the modded version of the playstore without any problems. But it self-updates every time and i cant do anything against.
In the Last android versions there was a "Market Updater" App, which you could just freeze to avoid this.
But in my Android 4.2.2 theres no such app.
Any Ideas how i can prevent the Playstore from updating?

Dude you sure about that, I mean if you have knowledge how to install custom play store than you must have the basic knowledge from where to disable the auto update feature.
goto play store>settings>Auto update apps select here none.
After this you will have to manually update all your apps that you want.
Sorry if I misinterpreted your query..
Press thanks button on the left side of my post.

i think you can just download 1 of the versions in the bottom of the post, and just rename it to vending.apk or phonesky.apk and push it to /system/app (just replace the original vending.apk or phonesky.apk) (and backup your original file)
hm...but how? if i click on one of those links i get referred to another Posts where it only shows MD5 sums

which phone do you use by the way? cause it could also be that the apps you miss are incompatible with the phone.
there is however, an app that also appears to be able to remove the restrictions (i think with a proxy of some kind), this app is mostly used for apps unavailable in certain countries.

install it on your device from play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm
When I write "sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh" it says "no such file or directory"... I put the mrw folder on the sdcard directly :\
One more question, once I root the phone can I delete the Kingroot and the other programs except SuperSu?

make sur you putted all the folder "mrw" and not the contant of the folder on the phone memory not External Sdcard
and all the contant of the folder are like the picture in the attechment
and yes the script you are about to run will remove all kingroot apps and replace superuser by SuperSU
Meh, it didn't work... seems like it works but then Kingroot suddenly stopped working and the phone reboots automatically.
Okay, I FINALLY DID IT, thank you really much appreaciated!
One more question. Can I install Cyanogenmod 12/11 Nightly from now? I mean, should I do anything else? (I got Lollipop and the phone rooted) or just the classic steps?

When the phone rebooted does kinguser still there do still have root ?! If yes uninstall supersu and run the script again or if you don't have kinguser and root any more =>
Try again from the begining but without installing supersu from play store just install kingroot root and run the script and if the script tels you that some files doesn't exist or replace click enter and let him contunies
You just have to try again if it doesn't it will work in the end i've been on different situations

Good for you
If you want to flash cm12/11 you need an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery like TWRP
and then you have two options one is go back to kitkat stock and root and unlockbootloader and flash recovery then flash cm or just flash cm12/11 over stock 5.0.2 and flash kitkat bootstack after
